ಅರಸುಗಳು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 18
1 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ಏಲನ ಮಗ ಹೋಶೇಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಮೂರನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಆಹಾಜನ ಮಗ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.
2 ಅವನು ಅರಸನಾದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೊಂಬತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಅಬೀಯಾ. ಅವಳು ಜೆಕರ್ಯನ ಮಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಳು.
Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah.
3 ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.
And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that David his father had done.
4 ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಉನ್ನತ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿ, ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಒಡೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಅಶೇರ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದುಹಾಕಿದನು. ಮೋಶೆಯು ಮಾಡಿದ ತಾಮ್ರದ ಸರ್ಪವನ್ನು ಮುರಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳವರೆಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಧೂಪ ಸುಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅದನ್ನು ನೆಹುಷ್ಟಾನ್ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
He removed the high places, and brake the pillars, and cut down the Asherah: and he brake in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made; for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it; and he called it Nehushtan.
5 ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸೆವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮುಂಚೆ ಇದ್ದವರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅವನ ತರುವಾಯ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಅರಸುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅವನ ಹಾಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
He trusted in Jehovah, the God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor [among them] that were before him.
6 ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡದೆ, ದೇವರನ್ನೇ ಆತುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಂಡನು.
For he clave to Jehovah; he departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which Jehovah commanded Moses.
7 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದರು. ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಯಾವ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೋದರೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಫಲವಾಯಿತು. ಅವನು ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸದೆ, ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರುಗಿಬಿದ್ದನು.
And Jehovah was with him; whithersoever he went forth he prospered: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.
8 ಅವರು ಕಾವಲು ಗೋಪುರದಿಂದ ಕೋಟೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳವರೆಗೂ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಗಾಜಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದವರೆಗೆ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದನು.
He smote the Philistines unto Gaza and the borders thereof, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city.
9 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಏಲನ ಮಗ ಹೋಶೇಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಏಳನೆಯ ವರ್ಷ, ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಶಲ್ಮನೆಸೆರನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆಹಾಕಿದನು.
And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.
10 ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷದ ತರುವಾಯ ಸಮಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದವರು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹೋಶೇಯನ ಒಂಬತ್ತನೆಯ ವರ್ಷವಾದ, ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಆರನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯವು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನವಾಯಿತು.
And at the end of three years they took it: in the sixth year of Hezekiah, which was the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken.
11 ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದು ಹಲಹ ಪ್ರಾಂತದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಹಾಬೋರ್ ನದಿಯಿರುವ ಗೋಜಾನ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮೇದ್ಯರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇರಿಸಿದನು.
And the king of Assyria carried Israel away unto Assyria, and put them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,
12 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ, ಅವರ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ ಮೀರಿದರು. ಅವರು ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವುಗಳಂತೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
because they obeyed not the voice of Jehovah their God, but transgressed his covenant, even all that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded, and would not hear it, nor do it.
13 ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಆಳಿಕೆಯ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಬಂದು, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೋಟೆಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fortified cities of Judah, and took them.
14 ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಲಾಕೀಷಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, “ನಾನು ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗು. ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಧಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಕಿಲೋಗ್ರಾಂ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಒಂದು ಸಾವಿರ ಕಿಲೋಗ್ರಾಂ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನೇಮಕಮಾಡಿದನು.
And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
15 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
And Hezekiah gave [him] all the silver that was found in the house of Jehovah, and in the treasures of the king’s house.
16 ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂದಿರದ ಕದಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ತಾನು ಹೊದಿಸಿದ್ದ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ, ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
At that time did Hezekiah cut off [the gold from] the doors of the temple of Jehovah, and [from] the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.
17 ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಅತಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನೂ, ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನೂ ಲಾಕೀಷಿನಿಂದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸೈನ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆ ಎಂಬವನನ್ನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅಗಸರ ಹೊಲದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕೆರೆಯ ಕಾಲುವೆಯ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡರು.
And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rab-saris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great army unto Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller’s field.
18 ಅವರು ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಅರಮನೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಗ ಎಲ್ಯಾಕೀಮ್, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾದ ಶೆಬ್ನ, ದಾಖಲೆಗಾರನಾದ ಆಸಾಫನ ಮಗ ಯೋವ ಎಂಬುವರು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebnah the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder.
19 ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು: “‘ಮಹಾರಾಜನಾದ ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಈ ನಿನ್ನ ಭರವಸೆಗೆ ಆಧಾರ ಏನು?
And Rabshakeh said unto them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?
20 ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯೂ, ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವೂ ಉಂಟೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತು ಬರೀ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳೇ, ನೀನು ಯಾರನ್ನು ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದೀಯೆ?
Thou sayest (but they are but vain words), [There is] counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou hast rebelled against me?
21 ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ಜಜ್ಜಿದ ದಂಟಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿರುವ ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿರುವಿಯಷ್ಟೆ, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಊರಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದು ಅವನ ಕೈಯನ್ನೇ ಚುಚ್ಚಿ ಗಾಯ ಮಾಡುವುದು! ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಫರೋಹನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಟ್ಟವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಇದೇ ಗತಿಯಾಗುವದು.
Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt; whereon if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.
22 ಬಹುಶಃ ನೀವು, “ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನೇ ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಬಹುದು. “ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರಿಗೆ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ, ಆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಬೇರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿದನಲ್ಲವೇ?
But if ye say unto me, We trust in Jehovah our God; is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?
23 “‘ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಈಗ ನೀನು ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೋ, ಆಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಕುದುರೆಸವಾರರನ್ನು ಬಳಸಲು ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾನು ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಕುದುರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.
24 ಇದಾಗದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕವನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತೀ? ನೀನು ರಥಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ, ರಾಹುತರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀಯೋ?
How then canst thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?
25 ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೋ? ಈ ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು,’” ಎಂದನು.
Am I now come up without Jehovah against this place to destroy it? Jehovah said unto me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
26 ಆಗ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಗ ಎಲ್ಯಾಕೀಮ್, ಶೆಬ್ನ, ಯೋವ ಎಂಬುವರು ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದು ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ನಮ್ಮೊಡನೆ ಅರಾಮ್ಯ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡು: ಅದು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ ಆದರೆ ಹಿಬ್ರಿಯ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Joah, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and speak not with us in the Jews’ language, in the ears of the people that are on the wall.
27 ಆದರೆ ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡವಾಗಲಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸಂಗಡವಾಗಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತ ಜನರ ಸಂಗಡವೂ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಜನರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೆ ಇವರೂ ಸಹ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಮಲಮೂತ್ರವನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? [hath he] not [sent me] to the men that sit on the wall, to eat their own dung, and to drink their own water with you?
28 ಆಗ ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಭಾಷೆಯಾದ ಹಿಬ್ರಿಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ನೀವು ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಮಹಾರಾಜನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ.
Then Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language, and spake, saying, Hear ye the word of the great king, the king of Assyria.
29 ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಮೋಸಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಲು ಶಕ್ತನಲ್ಲ.
Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you; for he will not be able to deliver you out of his hand:
30 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ‘ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವರು, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವನು.
neither let Hezekiah make you trust in Jehovah, saying, Jehovah will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
31 “ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಬನ್ನಿರಿ, ಆಗ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾಫಲವನ್ನೂ, ಅಂಜೂರದ ಫಲವನ್ನೂ ತಿಂದು ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವನು.
Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make your peace with me, and come out to me; and eat ye every one of his vine, and every one of his fig-tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his own cistern;
32 ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲವಾದ ನಂತರ ನಾನು ಬಂದು, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಧಾನ್ಯ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ, ಆಹಾರ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟ, ಎಣ್ಣೆಮರಗಳು, ಜೇನು ಇವು ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿರುವ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವೆನು. ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಮರಣವನ್ನಲ್ಲ. “‘ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವರು,’ ಎಂದು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸುವಾಗ, ಅವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಬೇಡಿರಿ.
until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive-trees and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, Jehovah will deliver us.
33 ಯಾವ ಜನಾಂಗದ ದೇವರುಗಳಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯದ ಅರಸನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿದ್ದು ಉಂಟೋ?
Hath any of the gods of the nations ever delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
34 ಹಮಾತ್, ಅರ್ಪಾದ್ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲಿ? ಸೆಫರ್ವಯಿಮ್, ಹೇನ, ಇವ್ವಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲಿ? ಅವರು ಸಮಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೋ?
Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah? have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?
35 ಈ ದೇಶಗಳ ಸಮಸ್ತ ದೇವರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಲಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಗದಂತೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕಾಪಾಡುವನೋ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of my hand, that Jehovah should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?
36 ಆದರೆ ಜನರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ಕೊಡದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿದ್ದರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಬೇಡಿರೆಂದು ಅರಸನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.
But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word; for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not.
37 ಆಗ ಅರಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಗ ಎಲ್ಯಾಕೀಮನೂ, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾದ ಶೆಬ್ನನೂ, ದಾಖಲೆಗಾರನಾದ ಆಸಾಫನ ಮಗ ಯೋವ ಎಂಬವನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.
