ಅರಸುಗಳು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 12
1 ಯೇಹುವಿನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಏಳನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಅರಸನಾಗಿ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಲವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಚಿಬ್ಯಳು. ಅವಳು ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬ ಊರಿನವಳು.
Jehoash began to reign in the seventh year of Jehu, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.
2 ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನು ಯೋವಾಷನಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.
Jehoash did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes all his days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
3 ಆದರೂ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಲಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜನರು ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಧೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿದ್ದರು.
However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.
4 ಯೋವಾಷನು ಯಾಜಕರಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಅರ್ಪಣೆಗಳಾಗಿ ತರಲಾದ ಜನಗಣತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ ಹಣ, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆಗಳಿಂದ ಪಡೆದ ಹಣ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವಯಂಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದ ತಂದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿರಿ ಎಂದನು.
Jehoash said to the priests, “All the money of the holy things that is brought into Yahweh’s house, in current money, the money of the people for whom each man is evaluated, and all the money that it comes into any man’s heart to bring into Yahweh’s house,
5 ಯಾಜಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಖಜಾಂಚಿಯವರಿಂದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಒಡಕುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಲು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
let the priests take it to them, each man from his donor; and they shall repair the damage to the house, wherever any damage is found.”
6 ಆದರೆ ಯಾಜಕರು ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತಮೂರನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದವರೆಗೂ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದರು.
But it was so, that in the twenty-third year of King Jehoash the priests had not repaired the damage to the house.
7 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನನ್ನು, ಇತರ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಒಡಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ? ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯವಿರುವ ಖಜಾಂಚಿಯವರಿಂದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಒಡಕುಗಳನ್ನು ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಲು ಅದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
Then King Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the other priests, and said to them, “Why aren’t you repairing the damage to the house? Now therefore take no more money from your treasurers, but deliver it for repair of the damage to the house.”
8 ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕರು, “ನಾವು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಜನರಿಂದ ಹಣ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ದೇವಾಲಯದ ದುರಸ್ತಿಗಾಗಿ ಕೈ ಹಾಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಮಾತುಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
The priests consented that they should take no more money from the people, and not repair the damage to the house.
9 ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನು ಒಂದು ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅದರ ಮುಚ್ಚಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ರಂಧ್ರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶದ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಆಗ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಕಾಯುವ ಯಾಜಕರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತರಲಾದ ಹಣವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
But Jehoiada the priest took a chest and bored a hole in its lid, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one comes into Yahweh’s house; and the priests who kept the threshold put all the money that was brought into Yahweh’s house into it.
10 ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಹಣ ಉಂಟೆಂದು ಅವರು ಕಂಡಾಗಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಸನ ಲೇಖಕನೂ, ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನೂ ಬಂದು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದಿದ್ದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಎಣಿಸಿ, ಚೀಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು.
When they saw that there was much money in the chest, the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put it in bags and counted the money that was found in Yahweh’s house.
11 ಅವರು ಎಣಿಸಿದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ನೇಮಕಗೊಂಡ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಬಡಗಿ, ಶಿಲ್ಪಿ,
They gave the money that was weighed out into the hands of those who did the work, who had the oversight of Yahweh’s house; and they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders who worked on Yahweh’s house,
12 ಉಪ್ಪಾರ, ಕಲ್ಲುಕುಟಿಗರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮರ, ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಆಲಯ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಬೇಕಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಖರ್ಚಿಗೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
and to the masons and the stone cutters, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the damage to Yahweh’s house, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
13 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದೊಳಗೆ ತಂದ ಹಣದಿಂದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಬಟ್ಟಲು, ಕತ್ತರಿ, ಪಾತ್ರೆ, ತುತೂರಿ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಬಂಗಾರದ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳು, ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸದೆ,
But there were not made for Yahweh’s house cups of silver, snuffers, basins, trumpets, any vessels of gold or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into Yahweh’s house;
14 ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೆಲಸದವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದರು.
for they gave that to those who did the work, and repaired Yahweh’s house with it.
15 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಹಣ ಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದರೋ, ಅವರಿಂದ ಹಣದ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
Moreover they didn’t demand an accounting from the men into whose hand they delivered the money to give to those who did the work; for they dealt faithfully.
16 ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತ ಬಲಿಯ ಹಣವನ್ನು, ಪಾಪ ಪರಿಹಾರದ ಬಲಿಯ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ಯಾಜಕರದಾಗಿತ್ತು.
The money for the trespass offerings and the money for the sin offerings was not brought into Yahweh’s house. It was the priests’.
17 ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ಹೋಗಿ ಗತ್ ಊರಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ನಂತರ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿಮಾಡಲು ಹೊರಟನು.
Then Hazael king of Syria went up and fought against Gath, and took it; and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
18 ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಜರಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟ, ಯೆಹೋರಾಮ್, ಅಹಜ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸರು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಾನೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಸಕಲ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅರಾಮಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದನು.
Jehoash king of Judah took all the holy things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own holy things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and of the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria; and he went away from Jerusalem.
19 ಯೋವಾಷನ ಇತರ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು, ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸರ ಇತಿಹಾಸಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತವೆ.
Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
20 ಯೋವಾಷನ ಸೇವಕರು ಎದ್ದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಒಳಸಂಚುಮಾಡಿ, ಸಿಲ್ಲಾ ಊರಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾದ ಬೇತ್ ಮಿಲ್ಲೋ ಎಂಬ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋವಾಷನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು.
His servants arose and made a conspiracy, and struck Joash at the house of Millo, on the way that goes down to Silla.
21 ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಶಿಮೆಯಾತನ ಮಗ ಯೋಜಾಬಾದ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶೋಮೇರನ ಮಗ ಯೆಹೋಜಾಬಾದ್ ಎಂಬವರು ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದರು. ಯೋವಾಷನ ಜನರು ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವನ ಮಗ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.
For Jozacar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, struck him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in David’s city; and Amaziah his son reigned in his place.
