ಅರಸುಗಳು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 1
1 ಅಹಾಬನ ಮರಣದ ನಂತರ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ದಂಗೆ ಎದ್ದರು.
And Moab rebelled against Israel, after the death of Achab.
2 ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲುಪ್ಪರಿಗೆಯ ಕಿಟಕಿಯೊಂದರಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, “ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ‘ಬಾಳ್ ಜೆಬೂಬನ’ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ನಾನು ಈ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಗುಣವಾಗುವೆನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ? ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ಬನ್ನಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
And Ochozias fell through the lattices of his upper chamber which he had in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, saying to them: Go, consult Beelzebub, the god of Accaron, whether I shall recover of this my illness.
3 ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ತಿಷ್ಬೀಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನೆದ್ದು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, ‘ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ? ನೀವು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ ಜೆಬೂಬನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದೇಕೆ?
And an angel of the Lord spoke to Elias the Thesbite, saying: Arise, and go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them: Is there not a God in Israel, that ye go to consult Beelzebub the god of Accaron?
4 ಇದರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನೀನು ಏರಿದ ಮಂಚದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯದೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು,” ಎಂದರು. ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಅದರಂತೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Wherefore thus saith the Lord: From the bed, on which thou art gone up, thou shalt not come down, but thou shalt surely die. And Elias went away.
5 ಸೇವಕರು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದದ್ದೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದನು.
And the messengers turned back to Ochozias. And he said to them: Why are you come back?
6 ಅವರು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಮಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದು, ‘ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಏನೆಂದರೆ: ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ? ನೀನು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ ಜೆಬೂಬನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರುತ್ತೀ? ಇದರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ, ನೀನು ಏರಿದ ಮಂಚದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯದೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವೆ,’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ, ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು,” ಎಂದರು.
But they answered him: A man met us, and said to us: Go, and return to the king, that sent you, and you shall say to him: Thus saith the Lord: Is it because there was no God in Israel that thou sendest to Beelzebub the god of Accaron? Therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed, on which thou art gone up, but then shalt surely die.
7 ಅರಸನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹೇಗಿದ್ದನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
And he said to them: What manner of man was he who met you, and spoke these words?
8 ಅದಕ್ಕವರು, “ಅವನು ಕಂಬಳಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನ ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ತೊಗಲಿನ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟು ಇತ್ತು,” ಎಂದರು. ಆಗ ಅರಸನು, “ಅವನು ತಿಷ್ಬೀಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಯನೇ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
But they said: A hairy man with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said: It is Elias the Thesbite.
9 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರಧಾನನನ್ನು, ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳೊಡನೆ ಎಲೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಪ್ರಧಾನನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ, ಇಗೋ, ಎಲೀಯನು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ‘ಇಳಿದು ಬಾ,’ ಎಂದು ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
And he sent to him a captain of fifty, and the fifty men that were under him. And he went up to him, and as he was sitting on the top of a hill, said to him: Man of God, the king hath commanded that thou come down.
10 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಯನು ಪ್ರಧಾನನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
And Elias answering, said to the captain of fifty: If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee, and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him, and the fifty that were with him.
11 ತಿರುಗಿ ಅರಸನು ಎಲೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಬಂದು ಇವನಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ‘ಬೇಗನೆ ಇಳಿದು ಬಾ,’ ಎಂದು ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
And again he sent to him another captain of fifty men, and his fifty with him. And he said to him: Man of God, thus saith the king: Make haste and come down.
12 ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ದೇವರ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
Elias answering, said: If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And fire came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
13 ತಿರುಗಿ ಅರಸನು ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನನಾದ ಮೂರನೆಯವನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಈ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನನಾದ ಮೂರನೆಯವನು ಬಂದು ಎಲೀಯನ ಮುಂದೆ ತನ್ನ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡು, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಈ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಣಗಳೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿರಲಿ.
Again he sent a third captain of fifty men, and the fifty that were with him. And when he was come, he fell upon his knees, before Elias, and besought him and said: Man of God, despise not my life, and the lives of thy servants that are with me.
14 ಇಗೋ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಮೊದಲಿನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿರಲಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
Behold fire came down from heaven, and consumed the two first captains of fifty men, and the fifties that were with them: but now I beseech thee to spare my life.
15 ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎಲೀಯನು ಎದ್ದು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋದನು.
And the angel of the Lord spoke to Elias, saying: Go down with him, fear not. He arose therefore, and went down with him to the king,
16 ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ ಜೆಬೂಬನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಕಾರಣ, ‘ನೀನು ಏರಿದ ಮಂಚದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯದೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
And said to him: Thus saith the Lord: Because thou hast sent messengers to consult Beelzebub the god of Accaron, as though there were not a God in Israel, of whom thou mightest inquire the word; therefore from the bed on which thou art gone up, thou shalt not come down, but thou shalt surely die.
17 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ಎಲೀಯನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದನು. ಅಹಜ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಮಗನಿಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಮಗ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಎರಡನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋರಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.
So he died according to the word of the Lord which Elias spoke, and Joram his brother reigned in his stead, in the second year of Joram the son of Josaphat king of Juda: because he had no son.
18 ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಇತರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತವೆ.
But the rest of the acts of Ochozias which he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?
