ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 8
1 ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ವೃದ್ಧನಾದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರರನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
And it came to pass when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
2 ಅವನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಮಗನ ಹೆಸರು ಯೋಯೇಲ್, ಅವನ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಮಗನ ಹೆಸರು ಅಬೀಯ. ಇವರು ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬದಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
And the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abijah; they judged in Beer-sheba.
3 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯದೆ, ಅಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಹಣ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿ, ಲಂಚವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted justice.
4 ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಹಿರಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮುಯೇಲನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ,
Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel to Ramah,
5 “ನೀನು ವೃದ್ಧನಾದೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಎಲ್ಲ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ನಮಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸು,” ಎಂದರು.
and said to him, Behold, thou art become old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now appoint us a king to judge us, like all the nations.
6 “ನಮಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸು,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಸಮುಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿತು. ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡಿದನು.
And the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to Jehovah.
7 ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ಜನರು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಆಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನೇ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
And Jehovah said to Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
8 ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ ದಿನವು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಈ ದಿನದವರೆಗೂ ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ, ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿನಗೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
According to all the deeds that they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, in that they have forsaken me and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
9 ಈಗ ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳು. ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಆಳುವ ಅರಸನ ಅಧಿಕಾರವು ಎಂಥದ್ದೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸು,” ಎಂದನು.
And now hearken unto their voice; only, testify solemnly unto them, and declare unto them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
10 ಆಗ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And Samuel spoke all the words of Jehovah to the people that asked of him a king.
11 ಅವನು, “ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಳುವ ಅರಸನ ಅಧಿಕಾರವು ಏನೆಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪುತ್ರರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ರಥಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಾರಥಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಕುದುರೆ ಸವಾರರನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಕೆಲವರು ಅವನ ರಥಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡುವರು.
And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: he will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, on his chariot and among his horsemen, and they shall run before his chariots;
12 ಅವನು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ ಐವತ್ತು ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ, ತನ್ನ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಊಳುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಪೈರನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಗು ತನ್ನ ರಥಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ನೇಮಿಸುವನು.
and [he will take them] that he may appoint for himself captains over thousands, and captains over fifties, and that they may plough his ground, and reap his harvest, and make his instruments of war and instruments of his chariots.
13 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರನ್ನು ತೈಲಗಾರ್ತಿಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ, ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಸುಡುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
And he will take your daughters for perfumers, and cooks, and bakers.
14 ಅವನು ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೊಲಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಓಲಿವ್ ಮರದ ತೋಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವನು.
And your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, the best, will he take and give to his servants.
15 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧಾನ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿ ಫಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹತ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೂ ಕೊಡುವನು.
And he will take the tenth of your seed and of your vineyards, and give to his chamberlains and to his servants.
16 ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸರನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರಾಯಸ್ಥರನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಇಡುವನು.
And he will take your bondmen, and your bondwomen, and your comeliest young men, and your asses, and use them for his work.
17 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕುರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ನೀವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ದಾಸರಾಗುವಿರಿ.
He will take the tenth of your sheep. And ye shall be his servants.
18 ನೀವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಗುವಿರಿ, ಆದರೆ ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king whom ye have chosen; and Jehovah will not answer you in that day.
19 ಆದರೂ ಜನರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅವರು, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನು ಇರಬೇಕು.
And the people refused to hearken to the voice of Samuel; and they said, No, but there shall be a king over us,
20 ನಾವು ಸಕಲ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನು ನಮಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವನು. ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊರಟು, ನಮ್ಮ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವನು,” ಎಂದರು.
that we also may be like all the nations; and our king shall judge us, and go out before us, and conduct our wars.
21 ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಜನರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he repeated them in the ears of Jehovah.
22 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸು,” ಎಂದರು. ಆಗ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Jehovah said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said to the men of Israel, Go ye every man to his city.
