ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 6
1 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ತಿಂಗಳು ಇದ್ದ ತರುವಾಯ
And the ark was seven months in the country of the Philistines, and their land brought forth swarms of mice.
2 ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ ಕಣಿಹೇಳುವವರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದು, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ನಾವು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಅದರ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವುದು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
And the Philistines call their priests, and their prophets, and their enchanters, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the Lord? teach us wherewith we shall send it away to its place.
3 ಅದಕ್ಕವರು, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಬರಿದಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸದೆ, ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ದೋಷಪರಿಹಾರ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ, ಆಗ ನೀವು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥರಾಗುವಿರಿ. ಅವರ ಕೈ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗದೆ ಇರುವ ಕಾರಣ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು,” ಎಂದರು.
And they said, If ye send away the ark of the covenant of the Lord God of Israel, do not on any account send it away empty, but by all means render to it an offering for the plague; and then shall ye be healed, and an atonement shall be made for you: should not his hand be [thus] stayed from off you?
4 ಆಗ ಅವರು, “ದೋಷಪರಿಹಾರ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ಕಳುಹಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದೇನು?” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕವರು, “ನಿಮಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ವಿಧ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಐದು ಗಡ್ಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಬಂಗಾರದ ಐದು ಇಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ.
And they say, What [is] the offering for the plague [which] we shall return to it? and they said,
5 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ನಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಈ ಗಡ್ಡೆಗಳ ಹಾಗು ಇಲಿಗಳ ಸ್ವರೂಪಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಮಾಡಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇರುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಗುರಮಾಡುವರು.
According to the number of the lords of the Philistines, five golden emerods, for the plague was on you, and on your rulers, and on the people; and golden mice, the likeness of the mice that destroy your land: and ye shall give glory to the Lord, that he may lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
6 ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನವರೂ, ಫರೋಹನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆ, ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸುವುದೇನು? ದೇವರು ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಕರವಾದ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಅವರು ಹೋಗುವಹಾಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
And why do ye harden your hearts, as Egypt and Pharao hardened their hearts? [was it] not [so] when he mocked them, [that] they let the people go, and they departed?
7 “ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನೀವು ಒಂದು ಹೊಸ ಬಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ, ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಹಾಕದೆ ಇರುವ ಹಾಲು ಕರೆಯುವ ಎರಡು ಹಸುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಡಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ, ಅವುಗಳ ಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವುಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು,
And now take wood and make a new wagon, and take two cows, that have calved for the first time, without their calves; and do ye yoke the cows to the wagon, and lead away the calves from behind them home.
8 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಬಂಡಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟು, ನೀವು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೋಷಪರಿಹಾರ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯ ಬಂಗಾರದ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅದರ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿ, ಅದು ಹೋಗುವಹಾಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ.
And ye shall take the ark and put it on the wagon; and ye shall restore to it the golden articles for the trespass-offering in a coffer by the side of it: and ye shall let it go, and sent it away, and ye shall depart.
9 ಆಗ ನೋಡಿರಿ, ಅದು ತನ್ನ ಮೇರೆಯಾದ ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಎಂಬ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಹೋದರೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಈ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವರ ಹಸ್ತವು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ತಾನಾಗಿಯೇ ನಮಗೆ ಆಯಿತೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
And ye shall see, if it shall go the way of its coasts along by Baethsamys, he has brought upon us this great affliction; and if not, then shall we know that his hand has not touched us, but this [is a] chance [which] has happened to us.
10 ಅವರು ಆ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಎರಡು ಹಾಲು ಕರೆಯುವ ಹಸುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಡಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅವುಗಳ ಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು
And the Philistines did so; and they took two cows that had calved for the first time, and yoked them to the waggon, and shut up their calves at home.
11 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನೂ, ಬಂಗಾರದ ಇಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ತಮ್ಮ ಗಡ್ಡೆರೋಗದ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಇಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟರು.
And they set the ark of the Lord, and the coffer, and the golden mice, on the waggon.
12 ಆಗ ಹಸುಗಳು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ಎಡಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ, ಬಲಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ ತಿರುಗದೆ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದವು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಊರಿನ ಮೇರೆಯವರೆಗೂ ಅವುಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದರು.
And the cows went straight on the way to the way of Baethsamys, they went along one track; and laboured, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left, and the lords of the Philistines went after it as far as the coasts of Baethsamys.
13 ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಊರಿನವರು ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಧಿಯ ಪೈರನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.
And the men of Baethsamys were reaping the wheat harvest in the valley; and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark of the Lord, and rejoiced to meet it.
14 ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯು ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಊರಿನವನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತಿತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಂಡೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೀಳಿ, ಹಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
And the waggon entered into the field of Osee, which was in Baethsamys, and they set there by it a great stone; and they split the wood of the waggon, and offered up the cows for a whole-burnt-offering to the Lord.
15 ಲೇವಿಯರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನೂ, ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಳಿದ್ದ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ಇಳಿಸಿ, ಆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಂಡೆಯ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರು. ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಊರಿನವರು ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
And the Levites brought up the ark of the Lord, and the coffer with it, and the golden articles upon it, and placed them on the great stone, and the men of Baethsamys offered whole-burnt-offerings and meat offerings on that day to the Lord.
16 ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಎಕ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And the five lords of the Philistines saw, and returned to Ascalon in that day.
17 ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ದೋಷಪರಿಹಾರ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಾಗಿ, ಗಡ್ಡೆರೋಗದ ಬಂಗಾರ ಸ್ವರೂಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅಷ್ಡೋದಿನಿಂದ ಒಂದೂ, ಗಾಜನಿಂದ ಒಂದೂ, ಅಷ್ಕೆಲೋನದಿಂದ ಒಂದೂ, ಗತ್‌ನಿಂದ ಒಂದೂ, ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನಿಂದ ಒಂದೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
And these [are] the golden emerods which the lords of the Philistines gave as a trespass-offering to the Lord; for Azotus one, for Gaza one, for Ascalon one, for Geth one, for Accaron one.
18 ಅವರು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಇಲಿಗಳು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ, ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಂಡೆಯು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಊರಿನವನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.
And the golden mice according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines, belonging to the five lords, from the fenced city to the village of the Pherezite, and to the great stone, on which they placed the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that was in the field of Osee the Baethsamysite.
19 ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಊರಿನ ಜನರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷದೊಳಗೆ ಇಣಿಕಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವರೊಳಗೆ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿ ದಂಡಿಸಿದರು.
And the sons of Jechonias were not pleased with the men of Baethsamys, because they saw the ark of the Lord; and [the Lord] smote among them seventy men, and fifty thousand men: and the people mourned, because the Lord had inflicted on the people, a very great plague.
20 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ನಾಶನಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಊರಿನವರು ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು, “ಈ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲತಕ್ಕವನ್ಯಾರು? ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವುದು?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And the men of Baethsamys said, Who shall be able to pass before this holy Lord God? and to whom shall the ark of the Lord go up from us?
21 ಅವರು ಕಿರ್ಯತ್ ಯಾರೀಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, “ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ನೀವು ಬಂದು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And they send messengers to the inhabitants of Cariathiarim, saying, The Philistines have brought back the ark of the Lord, go down and take it home to yourselves.
