ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 3
1 ಬಾಲಕನಾದ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಏಲಿಯ ಕೈಕೆಳಗಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ವಿರಳವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವದರ್ಶನಗಳು ಅಪರೂಪವಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
And the child Samuel ministered unto Jehovah before Eli. And the word of Jehovah was precious in those days; there was no frequent vision.
2 ಒಂದು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಏಲಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದನು. ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗದಂತೆ ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಮಬ್ಬಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.
And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place (now his eyes had begun to wax dim, so that he could not see),
3 ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ದೀಪವು ಆರಿಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಮಲಗಿದ್ದನು.
and the lamp of God was not yet gone out, and Samuel was laid down [to sleep], in the temple of Jehovah, where the ark of God was;
4 ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಕರೆದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ,
that Jehovah called Samuel: and he said, Here am I.
5 ಏಲಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ, “ಇಗೋ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ; ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ, ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಮಲಗಿಕೋ,” ಎಂದನು. ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಹೋಗಿ ಮಲಗಿದನು.
And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.
6 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು, “ಸಮುಯೇಲನೇ,” ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕರೆದರು. ಆಗ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಎದ್ದು ಏಲಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, “ಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಾನು ಕರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಮಲಗಿಕೋ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Jehovah called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.
7 ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಆವರೆಗೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿರಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, neither was the word of Jehovah yet revealed unto him.
8 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮೂರನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ, “ಸಮುಯೇಲನೇ,” ಎಂದು ಕರೆದರು. ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ಏಲಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, “ಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ. ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಏಲಿಯು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನು ಕರೆದರೆಂದು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And Jehovah called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And Eli perceived that Jehovah had called the child.
9 ಏಲಿಯು ಸಮುಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಮಲಗು; ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದರೆ, ಆಗ ನೀನು, ‘ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು,” ಎಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಹೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಿದನು.
Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Jehovah; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಬಂದು ನಿಂತು ಮೊದಲಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, “ಸಮುಯೇಲನೇ, ಸಮುಯೇಲನೇ,” ಎಂದು ಕರೆದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Jehovah came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel said, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
11 ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವನ ಎರಡು ಕಿವಿಗಳೂ ಕಂಪಿಸುವುವು.
And Jehovah said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.
12 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಏಲಿಯ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನಾನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಂತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವೆನು.
In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even unto the end.
13 ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ಅವನು ತಿಳಿದ ದುಷ್ಟತನದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನಾನು ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಮನೆಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವೆನು, ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರರು ದೇವರ ನಿಂದನೆ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಹತೋಟಿಗೆ ತರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever, for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons did bring a curse upon themselves, and he restrained them not.
14 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ‘ಏಲಿಯ ಮನೆಯ ದುಷ್ಟತನವು ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಬಲಿಯಿಂದಲಾದರೂ, ಅರ್ಪಣೆಯಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತವಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಏಲಿಯ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದೆನು,’” ಎಂದರು.
And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be expiated with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
15 ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಉದಯದವರೆಗೂ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದನು. ಆದರೆ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ಏಲಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟನು.
And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of Jehovah. And Samuel feared to show Eli the vision.
16 ಆಗ ಏಲಿಯು ಸಮುಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸಮುಯೇಲನೇ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he said, Here am I.
17 ಏಲಿಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತೇನು? ನನಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡಬೇಡ. ಅವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಸಕಲ ವಾರ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಯಾವುದನ್ನಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ಮರೆಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And he said, What is the thing that [Jehovah] hath spoken unto thee? I pray thee, hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide anything from me of all the things that he spake unto thee.
18 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ಮರೆಮಾಡದೆ, ಆ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸರಿತೋರುವುದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is Jehovah: let him do what seemeth him good.
19 ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದು, ಅವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದರೂ ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗಗೊಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And Samuel grew, and Jehovah was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
20 ಆಗ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾಗಿ ದೃಢಪಟ್ಟನೆಂದು ದಾನ್ ಊರು ಮೊದಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬದವರೆಗೂ ಇದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರು.
And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Jehovah.
21 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಶೀಲೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಶೀಲೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮುಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
And Jehovah appeared again in Shiloh; for Jehovah revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of Jehovah.
