ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 28
1 ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ತಮ್ಮ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆಗ ಆಕೀಷನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರೂ ಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದನು.
It happened in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. Achish said to David, "Know assuredly that you are to go out with me to battle, you and your men."
2 ದಾವೀದನು ಆಕೀಷನಿಗೆ, “ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನು ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ನೀನೇ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಕೀಷನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾವಲುಗಾರನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
David said to Achish, "Therefore you shall know what your servant will do." Achish said to David, "therefore I will make you my bodyguard for ever."
3 ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಡಿ, ಅವನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೂಳಿಟ್ಟರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೌಲನು ಮಾಂತ್ರಿಕಳನ್ನೂ, ಭೂತಪ್ರೇತಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವವರನ್ನೂ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. Saul had removed the mediums, and spiritists, from the land.
4 ಆಗ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸೈನ್ಯ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದು ಶೂನೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿದರು. ಸೌಲನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಗಿಲ್ಬೋವದಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿದನು.
The Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and camped in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they camped in Gilboa.
5 ಸೌಲನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟನು. ಆತನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯತುಂಬಿತು.
When Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly.
6 ಸೌಲನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಪ್ನಗಳಿಂದಲಾದರೂ, ಊರೀಮಿನಿಂದಲಾದರೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
When Saul inquired of Jehovah, Jehovah did not answer him, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
7 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ದಾಸರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಂತ್ರಿಕಳಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನ ದಾಸರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ಎಂದೋರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಂತ್ರಿಕಳಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಇದ್ದಾಳೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
Then Saul said to his servants, "Find for me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her." His servants said to him, "Look, there is a woman who is a medium at Endor."
8 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಬದಲು ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವಳಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಸತ್ತವರ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ನನಗೆ ಕಣಿ ಹೇಳು. ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವವನನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕಾಣುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡು,” ಎಂದನು.
Saul disguised himself, and put on other clothing, and went, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night. And he said, "Divine a spirit for me, please, and bring up for me the one whom I name to you."
9 ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಸೌಲನು ಮಾಂತ್ರಿಕಳನ್ನೂ, ಭೂತಪ್ರೇತಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವವರನ್ನೂ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟನೆಂದು ನೀನು ಬಲ್ಲೆ. ಈಗ ನಾನು ಸಾಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಏಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಉರುಳಿಡುತ್ತಿ?” ಎಂದಳು.
The woman said to him, "Look, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off the mediums and spiritists out of the land. Why then do you lay a snare for my life, to cause me to die?"
10 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನಿನಗೆ ದಂಡನೆ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
But Saul swore to her, saying, "As Jehovah lives, no punishment will come upon you for this thing."
11 ಅವಳು, “ನಿನಗೆ ನಾನು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಮಾಡಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದಳು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ಸಮುಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡು,” ಎಂದನು.
Then the woman said, "Whom shall I bring up to you?" He said, "Bring Samuel up for me."
12 ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಸಮುಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಮಹಾಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿದಳು. ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು, “ಏಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸಮಾಡಿದಿ? ನೀನೇ ಸೌಲನು,” ಎಂದಳು.
When the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice; and the woman spoke to Saul, saying, "Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul."
13 ಅರಸನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ, “ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ, ನೀನು ಕಂಡದ್ದೇನು?” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ, “ಒಂದು ಆತ್ಮವು ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಬರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆನು,” ಎಂದಳು.
The king said to her, "Do not be afraid. For what do you see?" The woman said to Saul, "I see a god coming up out of the earth."
14 ಆಗ ಅವನು, “ಅವನ ರೂಪ ಹೇಗಿದೆ?” ಎಂದು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅವಳು, “ನಿಲುವಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊದ್ದಿರುವ ಮುದಿ ಪ್ರಾಯದವನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದಳು. ಅವನು ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಎಂದು ಸೌಲನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ನೆಲದ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಬಾಗಿ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದನು.
He said to her, "What does he look like?" She said, "An old man comes up. He is covered with a robe." Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground, and showed respect.
15 ಆಗ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಮಾಡಿ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಕೆಡಿಸಿದೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೌಲನು, “ನಾನು ಬಹಳ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದರು. ಅವರು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾದರೂ, ಸ್ವಪ್ನದ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಸಿದೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
And Samuel said, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" And Saul answered, "I am very distressed, for the Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me and no longer answers me, either by prophets, or by dreams. So therefore I have called on you, that you may make known to me what I should do."
16 ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಶತ್ರುವಾಗಿರುವಾಗ, ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದು ಏಕೆ?
Samuel said, "Why then do you ask of me, since Jehovah has departed from you and is with your neighbor?
17 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
Jehovah has done to you as he spoke by me. Jehovah has torn the kingdom out of your hand, and given it to your neighbor, even to David.
18 ನೀನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ, ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದ ಅವರ ಉಗ್ರಕೋಪವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸದೆ ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಈ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
Because you did not obey the voice of Jehovah, and did not execute his fierce wrath on Amalek, therefore Jehovah has done this thing to you this day.
19 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವರು. ನಾಳೆ ನೀನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರರೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವಿರಿ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವರು,” ಎಂದನು.
Moreover Jehovah will deliver Israel also with you into the hand of the Philistines; and tomorrow you and your sons with you will fall. Jehovah will deliver the army of Israel also into the hand of the Philistines."
20 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೋರಲು ಬಿದ್ದು, ಸಮುಯೇಲನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟನು. ಆ ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಏನೂ ಊಟಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನೊಳಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು.
Then Saul fell immediately his full length on the earth, and was terrified, because of the words of Samuel. There was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.
21 ಆಗ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಸೌಲನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಅವನು ಬಹಳ ತಲ್ಲಣಪಟ್ಟನೆಂದು ಕಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡವಳಾಗಿ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದೆನು.
And the woman came to Saul and saw that he was terrified, and said to him, "Look, your servant has obeyed you, and I have put my life in my hand and have listened to your words which you spoke to me.
22 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈಗ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, ನೀನು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಹಿಡಿದು ನಡೆಯುವಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಊಟಮಾಡು,” ಎಂದಳು.
Now therefore, please listen also to the voice of your servant, and let me set a morsel of bread before you; and eat, that you may have strength, when you go on your way."
23 ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ನಾನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನ ದಾಸರೂ, ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವನು ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, ನೆಲವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಎದ್ದು, ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು.
But he refused, and said, "I will not eat." But his servants, together with the woman, pressed him; and he listened to their voice. So he arose from the ground, and sat on the bed.
24 ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಕರುವು ಇತ್ತು. ಅವಳು ಅದನ್ನು ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಯ್ದು, ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ನಾದಿ ಹುಳಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟು,
The woman had a fattened calf in the house. She hurried and killed it; and she took flour, and kneaded it, and baked unleavened bread of it.
25 ಸೌಲನ ಮುಂದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ದಾಸರ ಮುಂದೆ ತಂದಿಟ್ಟಳು. ಅವರು ಊಟಮಾಡಿ ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.
She brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they ate. Then they rose up, and went away that night.
