ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 22
1 ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅದುಲ್ಲಾಮ್ ಎಂಬ ಗವಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಆ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರರೂ, ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳಿ, ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
And David goes from there, and escapes to the cave of Adullam, and his brothers hear, and all the house of his father, and they go down to him there;
2 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಶ್ರಮಪಟ್ಟವರೂ, ಸಾಲಗಾರರೂ, ಅಸಂತುಷ್ಟರೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದನು. ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ನಾನೂರು ಜನರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರು.
and every man in distress gathers themselves to him, and every man who has an exactor, and every man bitter in soul, and he is for head over them, and there are about four hundred men with him.
3 ದಾವೀದನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಮೋವಾಬ್ ದೇಶದ ಮಿಚ್ಪೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡುವರೋ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿಯುವವರೆಗೂ, ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳು ಹೊರಟುಬಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿರಲಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
And David goes from there to Mizpeh of Moab and says to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and my mother come out with you, until I know what God does for me”;
4 ದಾವೀದನು ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ದಿವಸಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ, ಅವರು ಆ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
and he leads them before the king of Moab, and they dwell with him all the days of David’s being in the fortress.
5 ಆದರೆ ಗಾದನೆಂಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿರದೆ ಯೆಹೂದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಾ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಹೊರಟು ಹೆರೆತ್ ಎಂಬ ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.
And the prophet Gad says to David, “You do not abide in a fortress, go, and you have entered the land of Judah for yourself”; and David goes and enters the forest of Hareth.
6 ಒಂದು ದಿನ ದಾವೀದನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರೂ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಸೌಲನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಗಿಬೆಯದ ಗುಡ್ಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪಿಚುಲ ವೃಕ್ಷದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರೆಲ್ಲರು ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು.
And Saul hears that David has become known, and the men who [are] with him, and Saul is abiding in Gibeah, under the grove in Ramah, and his spear [is] in his hand, and all his servants [are] standing by him.
7 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಸುತ್ತಲು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ, “ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ಕೇಳಿರಿ. ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಒಳಸಂಚು ನಡೆಸುವಂತೆ ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಹೊಲಗಳನ್ನೂ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವನೋ? ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿಯೂ, ನೂರಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡುವನೋ?
And Saul says to his servants who are standing by him, “Now hear, sons of Benjamin; does the son of Jesse also give fields and vineyards to all of you? Does he appoint all of you [to be] heads of thousands and heads of hundreds?
8 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಯಾವನೂ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಚಿಂತಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವಂತೆ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಒಳಸಂಚುಮಾಡಿ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಯಾವನೂ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
For all of you have conspired against me, and there is none uncovering my ear about my son’s cutting [a covenant] with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you grieving for me, and uncovering my ear, that my son has raised up my servant against me, to lie in wait as [at] this day.”
9 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಯಜಮಾನನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಎದೋಮ್ಯನಾದ ದೋಯೇಗನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ನೋಬದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಹೀಟೂಬನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕಂಡೆನು.
And Doeg the Edomite answers, who is set over the servants of Saul, and says, “I have seen the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech son of Ahitub,
10 ಇವನು ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನಾದ ಗೊಲ್ಯಾತನ ಖಡ್ಗವನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು,” ಎಂದನು.
and he inquires of YHWH for him, and has given provision to him, and has given the sword of Goliath the Philistine to him.”
11 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅರಸನು ಅಹೀಟೂಬನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಹೀಮೆಲೆಕನನ್ನೂ, ನೋಬದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯಾಜಕರಾಗಿರುವ ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯವರಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
And the king sends to call Ahimelech son of Ahitub, the priest, and all the house of his father, the priests, who [are] in Nob, and all of them come to the king;
12 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು, “ಅಹೀಟೂಬನ ಮಗನೇ, ಕೇಳು,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
and Saul says, “Now hear, son of Ahitub”; and he says, “Here I [am], my lord.”
13 ಸೌಲನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನೂ, ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನೂ ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಒಳಸಂಚು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು? ಅವನು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕುವಂತೆ ನೀನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಖಡ್ಗವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು? ಅವನು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
And Saul says to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, by your giving bread and a sword to him, and to inquire of God for him, to rise against me, to lie in wait, as [at] this day?”
14 ಅಹೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನ ಹಾಗೆ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದವನು ಯಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ? ಅವನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಅಳಿಯನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಂಗರಕ್ಷಕರ ನಾಯಕನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಘನವುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
And Ahimelech answers the king and says, “And who among all your servants [is] as David—faithful, and son-in-law of the king, and has turned aside to your council, and is honored in your house?
15 ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದು ಅದೇ ಮೊದಲನೆಯದೋ? ಅಲ್ಲವೇ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನ ಮೇಲಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರ ಮೇಲಾದರೂ ಇಂಥ ಅಪವಾದವನ್ನು ಹೊರಿಸಬಾರದು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆ ಕಾರ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಮಗೇನೂ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
Today have I begun to inquire of God for him? Far be it from me! Do not let the king lay anything against his servant, against any of the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, little or much.”
16 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು, “ಅಹೀಮೆಲೆಕನೇ, ನೀನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯ ಸಮಸ್ತರೂ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯಲೇಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದನು.
And the king says, “You surely die, Ahimelech, you and all the house of your father.”
17 ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಕಾಲಾಳಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರ ಕೈ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಕವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವನು ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವುದನ್ನು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದು, ಅದನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸದೆ ಹೋದರು,” ಎಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಯಾಜಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಚಾಚಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರು.
And the king says to the runners, those standing by him, “Turn around, and put the priests of YHWH to death, because their hand [is] also with David, and because they have known that he is fleeing, and have not uncovered my ear”; and the servants of the king have not been willing to put forth their hand to come against the priests of YHWH.
18 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ದೋಯೇಗನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಯಾಜಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳು,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಎದೋಮ್ಯನಾದ ದೋಯೇಗನು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಯಾಜಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು, ನಾರುಬಟ್ಟೆಯ ಏಫೋದನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಾದ ಎಂಬತ್ತೈದು ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂದನು.
And the king says to Doeg, “Turn around, and come against the priests”; and Doeg the Edomite turns around, and comes against the priests himself, and in that day puts to death eighty-five men bearing a linen ephod,
19 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯಾಜಕರ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ನೋಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಪುರುಷರನ್ನೂ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನೂ, ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ, ಕೂಸುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
and Nob, the city of the priests, he has struck by the mouth of the sword, from man and to woman, from infant and to suckling, and ox, and donkey, and sheep, by the mouth of the sword.
20 ಆದರೆ ಅಹೀಟೂಬನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಹೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಅಬಿಯಾತರನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದನು.
And one son of Ahimelech, son of Ahitub, escapes, and his name [is] Abiathar, and he flees after David,
21 ಸೌಲನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಅಬಿಯಾತರನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
and Abiathar declares to David that Saul has slain the priests of YHWH.
22 ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಅಬಿಯಾತರನಿಗೆ, “ಎದೋಮ್ಯನಾದ ದೋಯೇಗನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸುವನೆಂದು ನಾನು ಆ ದಿನವೇ ನೆನೆಸಿಕೊಂಡೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯ ಸಮಸ್ತರ ಪ್ರಾಣಹತ್ಯೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣನಾದವನು ನಾನೇ.
And David says to Abiathar, “I have known on that day when Doeg the Edomite [is] there, that he certainly declares [it] to Saul; I have brought [it] around to every person of the house of your father;
23 ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರು; ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವನು; ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗಿರುವಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
dwell with me; do not fear; for he who seeks my life seeks your life; for you [are my] charge with me.”
