ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 19
1 ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should slay David; but Jonathan Saul's son delighted much in David.
2 ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು, “ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಸೌಲನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನೀನು ನಾಳೆ ಬೆಳಗಿನವರೆಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮರೆಯಾದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿಕೋ.
And Jonathan told David, saying: 'Saul my father seeketh to slay thee; now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself in the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself.
3 ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು, ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ನಾನು ನೋಡುವುದನ್ನು ಹೊರಟುಬಂದು ನೀನು ಇರುವ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will speak with my father of thee; and if I see aught, I will tell thee.'
4 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಸೌಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹಮಾಡದೆ ಇರಲಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನಿನಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿತಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ.
And Jonathan spoke good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him: 'Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his work hath been very good towards thee;
5 ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದೊಡ್ಡ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದರು. ನೀನೂ ಕಂಡು ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟೆ. ಈಗ ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯ ರಕ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದನು.
for he put his life in his hand, and smote the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great victory for all Israel; thou sawest it, and didst rejoice; wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?'
6 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಾಣೆ ಅವನು ಕೊಲೆಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan; and Saul swore: 'As the LORD liveth, he shall not be put to death.'
7 ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, ಆ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ, ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಸೌಲನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದನು. ಅವನು ಮುಂಚಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೌಲನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು.
And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan told him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as beforetime.
8 ತಿರುಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಹೊರಟು, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಾಹಸದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಅವರು ಅವನ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.
And there was war again; and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him.
9 ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾದ ದುರಾತ್ಮವು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂತು. ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಕಿನ್ನರಿ ಬಾರಿಸಿದನು.
And an evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing with his hand.
10 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಈಟಿಯಿಂದ ಗೋಡೆಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊಡೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹುಡುಕಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೌಲನ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವನ ಈಟಿಯು ಗೋಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಹೊಡೆದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the spear; but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the spear into the wall; and David fled, and escaped that night.
11 ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಸೌಲನು ಅವನ ಮನೆಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಮೀಕಲಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಈ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ನಾಳೆ ಹತನಾಗುವಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ
And Saul sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning; and Michal David's wife told him, saying: 'If thou save not thy life to-night, to-morrow thou shalt be slain.'
12 ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕಿಟಿಕಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಇಳಿಸಿಬಿಡಲು ಅವನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಿಹೋದನು.
So Michal let David down through the window; and he went, and fled, and escaped.
13 ತರುವಾಯ ಮೀಕಲಳು ಒಂದು ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿಸಿ, ಅದರ ತಲೆ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಹೋತದ ಉಣ್ಣೆಯ ತಲೆದಿಂಬನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ವಸ್ತ್ರದಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಿದಳು.
And Michal took the teraphim, and laid it in the bed, and put a quilt of goats' hair at the head thereof, and covered it with a cloth.
14 ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲು ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಮೀಕಲಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಅವನು ಖಾಯಿಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದಳು.
And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said: 'He is sick.'
15 ತಿರುಗಿ ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, “ಅವನನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀವು ಮಂಚದ ಸಂಗಡ ಅವನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬನ್ನಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying: 'Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.'
16 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೇವಕರು ಬಂದು ಕಂಡಾಗ, ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅದರ ತಲೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಆಡಿನ ಉಣ್ಣೆಯ ತಲೆದಿಂಬು ಇತ್ತು.
And when the messengers came in, behold, the teraphim was in the bed, with the quilt of goats' hair at the head thereof.
17 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಮೀಕಲಳಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನನಗೆ ಮೋಸಮಾಡಿ, ನನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುವನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು? ಅವನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನಲ್ಲಾ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಮೀಕಲಳು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಅವನು ನನಗೆ, ‘ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕುವುದು ಏಕೆ? ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೋಗಗೊಡಿಸು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು,” ಎಂದಳು.
And Saul said unto Michal: 'Why hast thou deceived me thus, and let mine enemy go, that he is escaped?' And Michal answered Saul: 'He said unto me: Let me go; why should I kill thee?'
18 ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮುಯೇಲನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಸೌಲನು ತನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನೂ ಸಮುಯೇಲನೂ ಹೋಗಿ ನಯೋತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
Now David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
19 ಆಗ, “ದಾವೀದನು ರಾಮದ ನಯೋತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಯಿತು.
And it was told Saul, saying: 'Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.'
20 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲು ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಗುಂಪು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವುದನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಜಮಾನನಾಗಿರುವ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ನಿಂತಿರುವುದನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡಾಗ, ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮ ಸೌಲನ ದೂತರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದಿತು, ಅವರೂ ಸಹ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದರು.
And Saul sent messengers to take David; and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, the spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
21 ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಈ ವರ್ತಮಾನವು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಬೇರೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದರು. ಮೂರನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಸೌಲನು ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದರು.
And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.
22 ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ತಾನೇ ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ಸೇಕೂವಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಾವಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಸಮುಯೇಲನೂ ದಾವೀದನೂ ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು, “ಅವರು ರಾಮದ ನಯೋತಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
Then went he also to Ramah, and came to the great cistern that is in Secu; and he asked and said: 'Where are Samuel and David?' And one said: 'Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.'
23 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ರಾಮದ ನಯೋತಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಆಗ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಲು, ಅವನು ರಾಮದ ನಯೋತಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವವರೆಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದನು.
And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah; and the spirit of God came upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
24 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚಿಹಾಕಿ, ತಾನೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸಮುಯೇಲನ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದನು. ಆ ದಿನ ಹಗಲೆಲ್ಲವೂ, ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಬೆತ್ತಲೆಯಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, “ಸೌಲನು ಕೂಡ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಯೇ?” ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಪ್ರಚಲಿತವಾಯಿತು.
And he also stripped off his clothes, and he also prophesied before Samuel, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say: 'Is Saul also among the prophets?'
