ಅರಸುಗಳು - ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 1

1 ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ವೃದ್ಧನಾಗಿಯೂ, ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಾಯ ಹೋದವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವಾಗ, ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊದಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದರೂ, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗಾಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

Now king David was old [and] advanced in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he got no heat.

2 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸ, ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವೆವು. ಅವಳು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಜೋಪಾನ ಮಾಡಲಿ. ಅರಸನಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗೆ ಆಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ಅವನ ಮಗ್ಗುಲಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳು ಮಲಗಲಿ,” ಎಂದರು.

Wherefore his servants said to him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.

3 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವತಿಯಾದ ಹುಡುಗಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹುಡುಕಿ, ಶೂನೇಮ್ಯಳಾದ ಅಬೀಷಗ್ ಎಂಬವಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡು, ಅವಳನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದರು.

So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the borders of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunamite, and brought her to the king.

4 ಈ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವತಿಯಾದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯು ಅರಸನ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಅವನ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ಅರಸನು ಅವಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.

And the damsel [was] very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king knew her not.

5 ಆಗ ಹಗ್ಗೀತಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, “ನಾನು ಅರಸನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡು, ತನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸಾರಥಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಪುರುಷರನ್ನೂ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನು.

Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.

6 ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯು ಎಂದಾದರೂ, “ನೀನು ಹೀಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಬಹು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ರೂಪವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು.

And his father had not displeased him at any time in saying, Why hast thou done so? and he also [was a] very goodly [man]; and [his mother] bore him after Absalom.

7 ಅದೋನೀಯನು ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗ ಯೋವಾಬ, ಯಾಜಕ ಅಬಿಯಾತರನ ಜೊತೆ ಸೇರಿ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅವರು ಅದೋನೀಯನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah, helped [him].

8 ಆದರೆ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ, ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗ ಬೆನಾಯನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ, ಶಿಮ್ಮಿಯೂ, ರೇಯಿಯೂ, ದಾವೀದನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳೂ ಅದೋನೀಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men who [belonged] to David, were not with Adonijah.

9 ಅದೋನೀಯನು ಏನ್ ರೋಗೆಲಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚೋಹೆಲೆತ್ ಎಂಬ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ಅರಸನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನೂ, ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಔತಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದನು.

And Adonijah slew sheep, and oxen, and fat cattle, by the stone of Zoheleth, which [is] by En-rogel, and called all his brethren the king's sons, and all the men of Judah the king's servants:

10 ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನನ್ನೂ, ಬೆನಾಯನನ್ನೂ, ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನೂ ಕರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.

But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not.

11 ಆಗ ನಾತಾನನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ತಾಯಿ ಬತ್ಷೆಬೆಳಿಗೆ, “ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯ ದಾವೀದನು ಅರಿಯದಿರುವಾಗ, ಹಗ್ಗೀತಳ ಮಗ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

Wherefore Nathan spoke to Bath-sheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our lord knoweth [it] not?

12 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೂ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾದರೆ, ನಿನಗೆ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.

Now therefore come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thy own life, and the life of thy son Solomon.

13 ನೀನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, “ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಆಳುವನೆಂದೂ, ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನೆಂದೂ,” ನೀವು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಗೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ಆಳುವುದು ಏಕೆ?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳು.

Go, and enter in to king David, and say to him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear to thy handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign?

14 ನೀನು, ಇನ್ನೂ ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದು, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಮಾಡುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.

Behold, while thou art yet talking there with the king, I will also come in after thee, and confirm thy words.

15 ಆಗ ಬತ್ಷೆಬೆಳು ಬಹು ವೃದ್ಧನಾಗಿದ್ದ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಅರಸನ ಕೊಠಡಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋದಳು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಶೂನೇಮ್ಯಳಾದ ಅಬೀಷಗ್ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಳು.

And Bath-sheba went to the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunamite ministered to the king.

16 ಆಗ ಬತ್ಷೆಬೆಳು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಬಾಗಿ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದಳು. ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು, “ನಿನಗೇನು ಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದನು.

And Bath-sheba bowed, and did obeisance to the king. And the king said, What wouldst thou?

17 ಆಕೆಯು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಆಳುವನೆಂದೂ, ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನೆಂದೂ, ನೀವು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ.

And she said to him, My lord, thou didst swear by the LORD thy God to thy handmaid, [saying], Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

18 ಆದರೆ, ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ನೀವು ಅರಿಯದೆ ಇರುವಾಗ, ಅದೋನೀಯನು ರಾಜನಾಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

And now, behold, Adonijah reigneth; and now, my lord the king, thou knowest [it] not:

19 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಅರಸನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಅಬಿಯಾತರನನ್ನೂ, ಸೇನಾಧಿಪತಿ ಯೋವಾಬನನ್ನೂ ಔತಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅವನು ಕರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.

And he hath slain oxen, and fat cattle, and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called.

20 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ತರುವಾಯ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಅರಸನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ನೀವು ಹೇಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ.

And thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel [are] upon thee, that thou shouldst tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

21 ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೂ ಅರಸನೂ ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಮಾಧಿ ಸೇರಿದಾಗ, ನಾನೂ, ನನ್ನ ಮಗ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನೂ ಅಪರಾಧಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಎಣಿಕೆಯಾಗುವೆವು,” ಎಂದಳು.

Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.

22 ಅವಳು ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನು ಬಂದನು.

And lo, while she was yet talking with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.

23 ಆಗ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನು,” ಎಂದರು. ಅವನು ಒಳಗೆ ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಮೋರೆ ಕೆಳಗಾಗಿ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದನು.

And they told the king, saying, Behold, Nathan the prophet. And when he had come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.

24 ಆಗ ನಾತಾನನು, “ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ಅದೋನೀಯನು, ನನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ಆಳುವನೆಂದೂ, ನನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನೆಂದೂ, ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಹೌದೋ?

And Nathan said, My lord, O king, hast thou said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?

25 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಅವನು ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ, ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ಅರಸನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ, ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಅಬಿಯಾತರನನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವರು ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ತಿಂದು, ಕುಡಿದು, ‘ಅರಸನಾದ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ಚಿರಂಜೀವಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

For he hath gone down this day, and hath slain oxen, and fat cattle, and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.

26 ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನನ್ನೂ, ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗ ಬೆನಾಯನನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನು ಕರೆಯಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.

But me, [even] me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, hath he not called.

27 ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಿಂದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಯಿತೋ? ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು, ತನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ತನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನನಗೆ ನೀವು ತಿಳಿಸದೆ ಹೋದಿರೋ?” ಎಂದನು.

Is this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shown [it] to thy servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?

28 ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಬತ್ಷೆಬೆಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆಯಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವಳು ಅರಸನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಳು.

Then king David answered and said, Call me Bath-sheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.

29 ಅರಸನು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ನನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ಆಳುವನೆಂದೂ,

And the king swore, and said, [As] the LORD liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress,

30 ಅವನು ನನಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನೆಂದೂ ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳಿದೆನೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, ಈ ದಿನ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವೆನೆಂದೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನೊಳಗಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದೂ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

Even as I swore to thee by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.

31 ಬತ್ಷೆಬೆಳು ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಗ್ಗಿಸಿ, ಅರಸನನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿ, “ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೂ, ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ದಾವೀದನು ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಬದುಕಲಿ,” ಎಂದಳು.

Then Bath-sheba bowed with [her] face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.

32 ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು, “ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನನ್ನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನನ್ನೂ, ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗ ಬೆನಾಯನನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆಯಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವರು ಅರಸನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.

And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.

33 ಅರಸನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಗ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಹೇಸರಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿಸಿ ಗೀಹೋನಿಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ.

The king also said to them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon my own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:

34 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರಲು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಲಿ. ತುತೂರಿಯನ್ನು ಊದಿ, ‘ಅರಸ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಚಿರಂಜೀವಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ!’ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿರಿ.

And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow ye with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon.

35 ಆಗ ಅವನು ಬಂದು ನನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ನೀವು ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನನಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವನು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿರಲು ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.

Then ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my stead: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.

36 ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಆಮೆನ್, ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹೇಳಲಿ.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the LORD God of my lord the king say so [too].

37 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೇಗೆ ಇದ್ದರೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದು, ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೂ, ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಇವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.

As the LORD hath been with my lord the king, even so let him be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.

38 ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ, ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗ ಬೆನಾಯನೂ, ಕೆರೇತ್ಯರೂ, ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯರೂ ಹೋಗಿ, ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಹೇಸರಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಗೀಹೋನಿಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದರು.

So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.

39 ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನು ಗುಡಾರದೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೈಲದ ಕೊಂಬನ್ನು ತಂದು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ತುತೂರಿಯನ್ನು ಊದಿದರು. ಆಗ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು, “ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಚಿರಂಜೀವಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ,” ಎಂದರು.

And Zadok the priest took a horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.

40 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು. ಜನರು ಕೊಳಲು ಊದಿ ಮಹಾ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಕಂಪಿಸಿತು.

And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.

41 ಆಗ ಅದೋನೀಯನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಕರೆಹೊಂದಿದವರೂ ತಿಂದು, ತೀರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ತುತೂರಿಯ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, “ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಗದ್ದಲದ ಶಬ್ದವೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದನು.

And Adonijah and all the guests that [were] with him heard [it] as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Why [is this] noise of the city being in an uproar?

42 ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಬಿಯಾತರನ ಮಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಬಂದನು. ಅದೋನೀಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಒಳಗೆ ಬಾ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಯೋಗ್ಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೂ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಮಾಚಾರ ತರುವವನೂ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತೀ?” ಎಂದನು.

And while he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said to him, Come in; for thou [art] a valiant man, and bringest good tidings.

43 ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಅದೋನೀಯನಿಗೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಮಾಚಾರವಲ್ಲ! “ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನೂ ಅರಸನೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅರಸನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king.

44 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನನ್ನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ನಾತಾನನನ್ನೂ, ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗ ಬೆನಾಯನನ್ನೂ, ಕೆರೇತ್ಯರನ್ನೂ, ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಹೇಸರಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ,

And the king hath sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule:

45 ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಗೀಹೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರಲು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಕಾರಣ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಗದ್ದಲವಾಯಿತು. ನೀವು ಕೇಳುವ ಆರ್ಭಟವು ಇದೇ.

And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they have come from thence rejoicing, so that the city resounded. This [is] the noise that ye have heard.

46 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

And also Solomon sitteth on the throne of the kingdom.

47 ಇದರ ಹೊರತು ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನೂ, ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಲು ಬಂದು, ‘ದೇವರು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಲಿ. ಅವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಕ್ಕಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲಿ,’ ಎಂದೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಅರಸನು ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಗಿ,

And moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.

48 ‘ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇಂದು ನನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಉತ್ತರಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವಾಗಲಿ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದನು.

And also thus said the king, Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel, who hath given [one] to sit on my throne this day, my eyes even seeing [it].

49 ಆಗ ಅದೋನೀಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಔತಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೆದರಿಕೊಂಡು ಎದ್ದು, ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.

And all the guests that [were] with Adonijah were afraid, and arose, and went every man his way.

50 ಆದರೆ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಹೋಗಿ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡನು.

And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

51 ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ, “ಅದೋನೀಯನು, ನಿನಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಅವನು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ‘ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನನಗೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಡಲಿ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.

And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear to me to-day that he will not slay his servant with the sword.

52 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು, “ಅವನು ಉತ್ತಮನಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದಾದರೆ, ಅವನ ಕೂದಲಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದರೂ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳದು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವನು,” ಎಂದನು.

And Solomon said, If he will show himself a worthy man, there shall not a hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.

53 ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆಸಿದಾಗ, ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಬಂದು ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದನು. ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗು,” ಎಂದನು.

So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said to him, Go to thy house.
