ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 13
1 ದಾವೀದನು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಗೂ, ನೂರು ಮಂದಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಾದವರ ಸಂಗಡ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಯಕರ ಸಂಗಡ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
[One day] David talked with all his army officers. Some of them were commanders of 100 soldiers and some were commanders of 1,000 soldiers.
2 ದಾವೀದನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗಿ ಕಂಡರೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತವಾದರೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನೂ, ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪನಗರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ, ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಕರೆಯಕಳುಹಿಸಿ,
Then he summoned the other Israeli leaders and said to all of them, “If it seems to you to be a good thing for us to do, and if it is what Yahweh our God wants, let’s send a message to our fellow Israelis in all the areas of our country, including the priests and [other] descendants of Levi who are living among them in their towns and in the nearby pasturelands, to come and join us,
3 ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ತರಿಸೋಣ. ಸೌಲನ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
because we want to bring the Sacred Chest of our God back to us. While Saul [was the king], we did not go to God’s presence to ask him what we should do.”
4 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡೋಣ ಎಂದು ಕೂಟದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
All the people agreed with David, because they all thought that it was the right thing to do.
5 ಹೀಗೆ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಕಿರ್ಯತ್ ಯಾರೀಮಿನಿಂದ ತರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನ ಶೀಹೋರ್ ನದಿ ಮೊದಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ಲಿಬೋ ಹಮಾತಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶದವರೆಗೆ ಇರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದನು.
So David gathered all the Israeli people, from the Shihor [River] in Egypt to Lebo-Hamath [town in the north, and told them that he wanted them] to [help] bring the Sacred Chest of God [back to Jerusalem] from Kiriath-Jearim [city].
6 ಆಗ ಕೆರೂಬಿಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಕರೆಯಲಾದ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲು, ದಾವೀದನೂ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೂ ಯೆಹೂದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಕಿರ್ಯತ್ ಯಾರೀಮಿನ ಬಾಲಾ ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
David went with all the Israeli people to Baalah [town], which is [another name for] Kiriath-Jearim, to get the Sacred Chest. [The people believed that] God ruled from between the statues of winged creatures that was above the lid of the Sacred Chest [MTY].
7 ಅವರು ಅಬೀನಾದಾಬನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊಸ ಬಂಡಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿಸಿದರು. ಉಜ್ಜನು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಹಿಯೋವನು ಆ ಹೊಸ ಬಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
The people put the Sacred Chest on a new cart and transported it from Abinadab’s house. Uzzah and Ahio were guiding [the oxen that were pulling the cart].
8 ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನೂ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೂ ಸಕಲ ವಾದ್ಯಗಳಾದ ಕಿನ್ನರಿ, ವೀಣೆ, ದಮ್ಮಡಿ, ತಾಳ, ತುತೂರಿ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಬಲದಿಂದ ಬಾರಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಹಾಡುತ್ತಾ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋದರು.
David and all the Israeli people were celebrating in God’s presence with all their strength. They were singing and [playing] lyres, harps, tambourines, and cymbals, and [blowing] trumpets.
9 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಕಿದೋನನ ಕಣದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಎತ್ತುಗಳು ಎಡವಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಉಜ್ಜನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದನು.
But when David’s men came to the place where Kidon threshed grain, the oxen stumbled. So Uzzah reached out with his hand to prevent the Sacred Chest from falling off the cart.
10 ಉಜ್ಜನು ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಉಜ್ಜನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರು. ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು.
Yahweh immediately became very angry with Uzzah, and he caused Uzzah to suddenly die there because he had put his hand on the Sacred Chest, [and Yahweh had commanded that only the descendants of Levi who help the priests should touch the Sacred Chest].
11 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಉಜ್ಜನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಪೆರೆಚ್ ಉಜ್ಜ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು, ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಪೆರೆಚ್ ಉಜ್ಜ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
David was angry because Yahweh had punished [MTY] Uzzah. And now that place [where Uzzah died] is called ‘The Punishment of Uzzah’.
12 ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ದಿನ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು, “ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ನಾನಿರುವಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವದು?” ಎಂದನು.
That day, David was afraid of God. He asked [himself], “(How can I bring God’s Sacred Chest to my [city]?/I am afraid to bring God’s Sacred Chest to my [city].)” [RHQ]
13 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನು ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ, ಗಿತ್ತೀಯನಾದ ಓಬೇದ್ ಏದೋಮನ ಮನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು.
So the men with David did not take the Sacred Chest to Jerusalem. Instead, they took it to the house of Obed-Edom, who was from Gath [city].
14 ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ಓಬೇದ್ ಏದೋಮನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಓಬೇದ್ ಎದೋಮನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ, ಅವನಿಗಿದ್ದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದರು.
The Sacred Chest stayed with Obed-Edom’s family in his house for three months. And [during that time] Yahweh blessed Obed-Edom’s family and everything that he owned.
