ರೂತಳು 4
1 ೧ ಬೋವಜನು ಊರಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು. ತಾನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದ ಸಮೀಪಬಂಧುವು ಆ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಬೋವಜನು ಅವನಿಗೆ “ಬಾರಪ್ಪಾ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಕುಳಿತುಕೋ” ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲು ಅವನು ಬಂದು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು.
And Boaz went up to the gate, and sat down there. And behold, he that had the right of redemption, of whom Boaz had spoken, came by. And he said, Thou, such a one, turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside and sat down.
And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit down here. And they sat down.
3 ೩ ಆಗ ಅವನು ಆ ಸಮೀಪಬಂಧುವಿಗೆ, “ಮೋವಾಬ್ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದಿರುವ ನವೊಮಿಯು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಎಲೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ಮಾರಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
And he said to him that had the right of redemption: Naomi, who is come back out of the country of Moab, sells the allotment that was our brother Elimelech's.
4 ೪ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವುದೇನಂದರೆ ‘ನಿನಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವ ಊರಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಕೊಂಡುಕೋ.’ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು; ಇದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಬೇಕು. ನೀನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ನಾನೂ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳತಕ್ಕ ಬಾಧ್ಯರು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಅವನು “ನಾನೇ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
And I thought I would apprise thee of it and say, Buy [it] in the presence of the inhabitants, and in the presence of the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem [it], redeem; but if thou wilt not redeem, tell me, that I may know; for there is none to redeem besides thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem [it].
5 ೫ ಆಗ ಬೋವಜನು “ನೀನು ನವೊಮಿಯಿಂದ ಆ ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಹೊಲದ ಖಾತೆಯೂ ಆಕೆಯ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದ ಮಗನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಉಳಿಯುದಿರುವಂತೆ, ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯಳಾದ ರೂತಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
And Boaz said, On the day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy [it] also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.
6 ೬ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಸಮೀಪಬಂಧುವು “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರೆನು; ಆ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ನೀನೇ ವಹಿಸಿಕೋ; ನನ್ನಿಂದಾಗದು” ಅಂದನು.
And he that had the right of redemption said, I cannot redeem [it] for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance. Redeem thou for thyself what I should redeem, for I cannot redeem [it].
7 ೭ ಯಾವುದಾದರೊಂದು ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗಲೂ, ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗಲೂ, ಕೊಡುವಾಗಲೂ ಮಾತನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಇದ್ದ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಯಾವುದಂದರೆ, ಕೊಡುವವನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಪಾದರಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು; ಇದರಿಂದ ಮಾತು ದೃಢವಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.
Now this [was the custom] in former time in Israel concerning redemption and concerning exchange, to confirm the whole matter: a man drew off his sandal, and gave it to his neighbour, and this was the [mode of] attestation in Israel.
And he that had the right of redemption said to Boaz, Buy for thyself; and he drew off his sandal.
9 ೯ ಆಗ ಬೋವಜನು ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೂ “ನಾನು ಎಲೀಮೆಲೆಕ್, ಕಿಲ್ಯೋನ್, ಮಹ್ಲೋನ್ ಎಂಬುವರಿಗಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನವೊಮಿಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ;
And Boaz said to the elders and all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi;
10 ೧೦ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೊಲದ ಖಾತೆಯು ಸತ್ತುಹೋದ ಮಹ್ಲೋನನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಉಳಿದು, ಅವನ ಬಂಧುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಊರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅವನ ಸಂತಾನವು ಉಳಿಯುವಂತೆ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯಳಾದ ರೂತಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.
11 ೧೧ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಊರ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರೂ “ಹೌದು, ನಾವೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳು; ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದ. ರಾಹೇಲ್, ಲೇಯಾ ಎಂಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಹೇಗೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರುವ ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನೂ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಿ. ಎಫ್ರಾತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದು, ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧನಾಗು.
And all the people that were in the gate and the elders said, [We are] witnesses. Jehovah make the woman that cometh into thy house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel; and acquire power in Ephratah, and make thyself a name in Bethlehem;
12 ೧೨ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನಿನಗೆ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸುವ ಸಂತಾನದಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯು ಯೆಹೂದನಿಗೆ ತಾಮಾರಳಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಪೆರೆಚನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಲಿ” ಅಂದರು.
and let thy house become like the house of Pherez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, of the seed which Jehovah shall give thee of this young woman.
13 ೧೩ ಬೋವಜನು ರೂತಳನ್ನು ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆಕೆಯು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು.
And Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife; and he went in unto her, and Jehovah gave her conception, and she bore a son.
14 ೧೪ ಆಗ ಹೆಂಗಸರು ನವೊಮಿಗೆ “ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯಸ್ಥನನ್ನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವಾಗಲಿ. ಈ ಮಗನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಖಾತ್ಯನಾಗಲಿ.
And the women said to Naomi, Blessed be Jehovah who hath not left thee this day without one that has the right of redemption, and may his name be famous in Israel!
15 ೧೫ ಇವನು ನಿನಗೆ ನವಚೈತನ್ಯ ನೀಡಿ ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮ ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವನು, ವೃದ್ಧಾಪ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಕನಾಗಿರುವನು. ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೊಸೆಯು ಇವನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And he shall be to thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age; for thy daughter-in-law who loves thee, who is better to thee than seven sons, has borne him.
And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse to it.
17 ೧೭ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯ ಹೆಂಗಸರು ನವೊಮಿಗೆ “ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು” ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಓಬೇದನೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು. ಇವನೇ ಇಷಯನಿಗೆ ತಂದೆಯೂ, ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅಜ್ಜನೂ ಆದನು.
And the women [her] neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi. And they called his name Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
Now these are the generations of Pherez. Pherez begot Hezron,
and Hezron begot Ram, and Ram begot Amminadab,
and Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon,
and Salmon begot Boaz, and Boaz begot Obed,
and Obed begot Jesse, and Jesse begot David.
