ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 28

1 ೧ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟದಿದ್ದರೂ ದುಷ್ಟನು ಹೆದರಿ ಓಡುವನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಸಿಂಹದಂತೆ ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದಿರುವನು.

The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are bold as a lion.

2 ೨ ಅಧರ್ಮದಿಂದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹು ನಾಯಕರಿರುವರು, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳೂ, ವಿವೇಕಿಗಳೂ ಆದವರಿಂದ ಧರ್ಮವು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿರುವುದು.

By the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; but by a man of understanding [and] of knowledge, [its] stability is prolonged.

3 ೩ ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವ ದರಿದ್ರನು, ಒಂದು ಕಾಳೂ ಉಳಿಯದಂತೆ ಪೈರನ್ನು ಬಡಿಯುವ ಮಳೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ.

A poor man who oppresseth the helpless is a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.

4 ೪ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳದವರು ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳುವರು, ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವರು.

They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them.

5 ೫ ಕೆಟ್ಟವರು ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸರು, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಕ್ತರು ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವರು.

Evil men understand not judgment; but they that seek Jehovah understand everything.

6 ೬ ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಿಯಾದ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಿಗಿಂತ, ನಿರ್ದೋಷವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ದರಿದ್ರನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನು.

Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse, double in ways, though he be rich.

7 ೭ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ವಿವೇಕಿಯಾದ ಮಗನು, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಬಾಕರ ಗೆಳೆಯನು ತಂದೆಯ ಮಾನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯುವನು.

Whoso observeth the law is a son that hath understanding; but he that is a companion of profligates bringeth shame to his father.

8 ೮ ಬಡ್ಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಲಾಭದಿಂದ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದ ಆಸ್ತಿಯು ಬಡವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಕರಪಡುವವನ ಪಾಲಾಗುವುದು.

He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance gathereth it for him that is gracious to the poor.

9 ೯ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದವನು ಮಾಡುವ ದೇವಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೂ ಅಸಹ್ಯ.

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.

10 ೧೦ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರನ್ನು ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆಯುವವನು, ತಾನು ತೋಡಿದ ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನೇ ಬೀಳುವನು, ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳಿಗೋ ಸುಖವು ಸೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದು.

Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, shall himself fall into his own pit; but the perfect shall inherit good.

11 ೧೧ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ತಾನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯೆಂದೆಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು, ವಿವೇಕಿಯಾದ ಬಡವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಇಂಥವನೆಂದು ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡುವನು.

A rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.

12 ೧೨ ಶಿಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸವಾದರೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಭ್ರಮವಾಗುವುದು, ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಏಳಿಗೆಯಾದರೆ ಜನರು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.

When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men conceal themselves.

13 ೧೩ ದೋಷಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗೆ ಶುಭವಾಗದು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವವನಿಗೆ ಕರುಣೆ ದೊರೆಯುವುದು.

He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall obtain mercy.

14 ೧೪ ಕೆಟ್ಟದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಭಯಪಡುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು, ಕಠಿಣಹೃದಯನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬೀಳುವನು.

Happy is the man that feareth always; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.

15 ೧೫ ಬಡವರಾದ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಳುವ ದುಷ್ಟರಾಜನು, ಗರ್ಜಿಸುವ ಸಿಂಹ ಮತ್ತು ಹುಡುಕಾಡುವ ಕರಡಿಯಂತೆ.

A roaring lion, and a ranging bear, is a wicked ruler over a poor people.

16 ೧೬ ವಿವೇಕಶೂನ್ಯನಾದ ಒಡೆಯನು ಮಹಾ ಹಿಂಸಕನು, ದೋಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳದವನು ದೀರ್ಘಾಯುಷ್ಯನು.

The prince void of intelligence is also a great oppressor: he that hateth covetousness shall prolong [his] days.

17 ೧೭ ನರಪ್ರಾಣ ತೆಗೆದ ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಸಮಾಧಿಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಓಡುವನು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ತಡೆಯಬಾರದು.

A man laden with the blood of [any] person, fleeth to the pit: let no man stay him.

18 ೧೮ ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಧಾರ, ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಿಗೆ ತಟ್ಟನೆ ಸೋಲು.

Whoso walketh in integrity shall be saved; but he that is perverted in [his] double ways, shall fall in one [of them].

19 ೧೯ ದುಡಿದು ಹೊಲಗೇಯುವವನಿಗೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಅನ್ನ, ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತನಿಗೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆತುಂಬಾ ಬಡತನ.

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he that followeth the worthless shall have poverty enough.

20 ೨೦ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಪೂರ್ಣನಾಗುವನು, ಧನವಂತನಾಗಲು ಆತುರಪಡುವವನು ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದದೆ ಇರನು.

A faithful man aboundeth with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

21 ೨೧ ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವು ಅಧರ್ಮ, ತುತ್ತು ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಜನರು ದ್ರೋಹಮಾಡುವುದುಂಟು.

To have respect of persons is not good; but for a piece of bread will a man transgress.

22 ೨೨ ಲೋಭಿಯು ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಲು ಆತುರಪಡುವನು, ತನಗೆ ಕೊರತೆಯಾಗುವುದೆಂದು ಅರಿಯನು.

He that hath an evil eye hasteth after wealth, and knoweth not that poverty shall come upon him.

23 ೨೩ ಮುಖಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುವವನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ, ಗದರಿಸುವವನು ಬಳಿಕ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದಯಾಪಾತ್ರನಾಗುವನು.

He that rebuketh a man shall afterwards find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

24 ೨೪ ದೋಷವಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಾಯಿತಂದೆಗಳ ಧನವನ್ನು ಕದಿಯುವವನು, ಕೆಡುಕನಿಗೆ ಜೊತೆಗಾರನು.

Whoso robbeth his father and his mother, and saith, It is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer.

25 ೨೫ ದುರಾಶೆಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಜಗಳವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವನು, ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವವನು ಪುಷ್ಟನಾಗುವನು.

He that is puffed up in soul exciteth contention; but he that relieth upon Jehovah shall be made fat.

26 ೨೬ ತನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವವನು ಮೂಢನು, ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಉದ್ಧಾರ ಹೊಂದುವನು.

He that confideth in his own heart is a fool; but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

27 ೨೭ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ದಾನಮಾಡುವವನು ಕೊರತೆಪಡನು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕಾಣದಂತೆ ಇರುವವನು ಬಹುಶಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವನು.

He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; but he that withdraweth his eyes shall have many a curse.

28 ೨೮ ದುಷ್ಟರು ಎದ್ದರೆ ಜನರು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು, ನಾಶನವಾದರೆ ಶಿಷ್ಟರು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವರು.

When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
