ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 14

1 ೧ ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಳು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಂತ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವಳು.

Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her own hands.

2 ೨ ಸರಳಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವನು, ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ಆತನನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಮಾಡುವನು.

He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

3 ೩ ಮೂರ್ಖನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಅವನ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಬೆತ್ತ, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವು.

In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

4 ೪ ಎತ್ತುಗಳಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವಾಗ ಗೋದಲಿಯು ಶುದ್ಧ, ಆದರೆ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಬೆಳೆಯ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವುದು.

Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

5 ೫ ಸತ್ಯಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡನು, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಅಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಆಡುವನು.

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness uttereth lies.

6 ೬ ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಡುಕಿದರೂ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಸಿಕ್ಕದು, ವಿವೇಕಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ದೊರೆಯುವುದು.

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and [findeth it] not: but knowledge is easy unto him that hath understanding.

7 ೭ ನೀನು ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವನ ತುಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣಲಾರೆ.

Go into the presence of a foolish man, and thou shalt not perceive [in him] the lips of knowledge.

8 ೮ ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೇ ಜಾಣನ ಜ್ಞಾನ, ಮೂಢರ ಮೂರ್ಖತನ ಮೋಸಕರ.

The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

9 ೯ ಮೂರ್ಖರನ್ನು ಅವರ ದೋಷವೇ ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುವುದು, ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರಲ್ಲಿ (ದೇವರ) ದಯೆಯಿರುವುದು.

The foolish make a mock at guilt: but among the upright there is good will.

10 ೧೦ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ವ್ಯಾಕುಲವನ್ನು ತಾನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು, ಅವನ ಆನಂದದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೇರೆಯವರು ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

The heart knoweth its own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with its joy.

11 ೧೧ ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮನೆಗೆ ನಾಶನ, ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ಗುಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಏಳಿಗೆ.

The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tent of the upright shall flourish.

12 ೧೨ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸರಳವಾಗಿ ತೋರುವ ಒಂದು ದಾರಿಯುಂಟು. ಅದು ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಗೆ ಮರಣಮಾರ್ಗವೇ.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

13 ೧೩ ನಗುವವನಿಗೂ ಮನೋವ್ಯಥೆಯುಂಟು, ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದ ಅಂತ್ಯವು ವ್ಯಾಕುಲವೇ.

Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of mirth is heaviness.

14 ೧೪ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟನು ಕರ್ಮಫಲವನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ತಿಂದು ದಣಿಯುವನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನೇ ತೃಪ್ತನಾಗುವನು.

The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man [shall be satisfied] from himself.

15 ೧೫ ಮೂಢನು ಯಾವ ಮಾತನ್ನಾದರೂ ನಂಬುವನು, ಜಾಣನು ತನ್ನ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಗಮನಿಸುವನು.

The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

16 ೧೬ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಓರೆಯಾಗುವನು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನು ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಭಯವನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸನು.

A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool beareth himself insolently, and is confident.

17 ೧೭ ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸುವನು, ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನು ದ್ವೇಷಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾತ್ರನು.

He that is soon angry will deal foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

18 ೧೮ ಮೂರ್ಖರಿಗೆ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವೇ ಸ್ವತ್ತು, ಜಾಣರಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಕಿರೀಟ.

The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

19 ೧೯ ಕೆಟ್ಟವರು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಬಾಗುವರು, ದುಷ್ಟರು ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡ್ಡಬೀಳುವರು.

The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20 ೨೦ ಬಡವನು ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೂ ಅಸಹ್ಯ, ಧನವಂತನಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಜನ ಮಿತ್ರರು.

The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

21 ೨೧ ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವನು ದೋಷಿ, ದರಿದ್ರನನ್ನು ಕನಿಕರಿಸುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು.

He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath pity on the poor, happy is he.

22 ೨೨ ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರು ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪಿದವರೇ ಸರಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸತ್ಯತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರು.

Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth [shall be to] them that devise good.

23 ೨೩ ಶ್ರಮೆಯಿಂದ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ, ಹರಟೆಯಿಂದ ಕೊರತೆ.

In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to penury.

24 ೨೪ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಜ್ಞಾನಕಿರೀಟವೇ ಅವರ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಸಂಪತ್ತು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನರ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವು ಬರೀ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವೇ.

The crown of the wise is their riches: [but] the folly of fools is [only] folly.

25 ೨೫ ಸತ್ಯಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಪ್ರಾಣರಕ್ಷಕ, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ವಂಚಕ.

A true witness delivereth souls: but he that uttereth lies [causeth] deceit.

26 ೨೬ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಕೇವಲ ನಿರ್ಭಯ, ಆತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯವಿದ್ದೇ ಇರುವುದು.

In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

27 ೨೭ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಯ ಜೀವದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆ, ಮೃತ್ಯುಪಾಶದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅದು ಸಾಧನವಾಗಿದೆ.

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

28 ೨೮ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ರಾಜನ ಮಹಿಮೆ, ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ನಾಶ ಪ್ರಭುವಿಗೆ ಭಯ.

In the multitude of people is the king’s glory: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

29 ೨೯ ದೀರ್ಘಶಾಂತನು ಕೇವಲ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನು, ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯು ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನು ಧ್ವಜವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತುವನು.

He that is slow to anger is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

30 ೩೦ ಶಾಂತಗುಣವು ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವಾಧಾರವು, ಕ್ರೋಧವು ಎಲುಬಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷಯವು.

A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy is the rottenness of the bones.

31 ೩೧ ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವವನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಹೀನೈಸುವನು, ಗತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವವನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಘನಪಡಿಸುವನು.

He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that hath mercy on the needy honoureth him.

32 ೩೨ ದುಷ್ಟನು ವಿಪತ್ತಿಗೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಹಾಳಾಗುವನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಮರಣಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆಶ್ರಯಹೊಂದುವನು.

The wicked is thrust down in his evil-doing: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

33 ೩೩ ವಿವೇಕಿಯ ಹೃದಯ ಜ್ಞಾನಾಶ್ರಯ, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಕಾಣದು.

Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but [that which is] in the inward part of fools is made known.

34 ೩೪ ಪ್ರಜೆಗೆ ಧರ್ಮವು ಉನ್ನತಿ, ಅಧರ್ಮವು ಅವಮಾನ.

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

35 ೩೫ ಜಾಣನಾದ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ರಾಜನ ಕೃಪೆ, ಮಾನಗೇಡಿಗೆ ರಾಜನ ರೌದ್ರ.

The king’s favour is toward a servant that dealeth wisely: but his wrath shall be [against] him that causeth shame.
