ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 13

1 ೧ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ಮಗನು ತಂದೆಯ ನೀತಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವನು, ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನೋ ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳನು.

A wise son is instructed of his father; but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

2 ೨ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸುಖವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವನು, ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರವೇ ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳ ಕೋರಿಕೆ.

A man shall eat good from the fruit of his mouth; but the desire of the faithless is violence.

3 ೩ ಬಾಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವನು ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾನೆ, ತುಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದುಬಿಡುವವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು.

He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life; but for him that openeth wide his lips there shall be ruin.

4 ೪ ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ಆಶೆಯು ವ್ಯರ್ಥ, ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಯ ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪುಷ್ಟಿ.

The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be abundantly gratified.

5 ೫ ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಮೋಸಕ್ಕೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯಪಟ್ಟು ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾರನು, ದುಷ್ಟನ ನಡತೆಯು ಹೇಸಿಕೆಗೂ, ನಾಚಿಕೆಗೂ ಆಸ್ಪದ.

A righteous man hateth lying; but a wicked man behaveth vilely and shamefully.

6 ೬ ಧರ್ಮವು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವುದು, ಅಧರ್ಮವು ದೋಷಿಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡುವುದು.

Righteousness guardeth him that is upright in the way; but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

7 ೭ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಧನವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರೂ, ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ದರಿದ್ರನ ಹಾಗೆ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ಧನವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ವೆಚ್ಚಮಾಡಿ ಬಡವನಾದರೂ, ಬಹು ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನ ಹಾಗೆ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

There is that pretendeth himself rich, yet hath nothing; there is that pretendeth himself poor, yet hath great wealth.

8 ೮ ಧನವಂತನ ಪ್ರಾಣರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಅವನ ಧನವೇ ಕ್ರಯ, ಬಡವನಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಬೆದರಿಕೆಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

The ransom of a man's life are his riches; but the poor heareth no threatening.

9 ೯ ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ಬೆಳಕು ಬೆಳಗುವುದು, ದುಷ್ಟರ ದೀಪವು ಆರುವುದು.

The light of the righteous rejoiceth; but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

10 ೧೦ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಫಲವು ಕಲಹವೇ, ಬುದ್ಧಿವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವವರಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನ.

By pride cometh only contention; but with the well-advised is wisdom.

11 ೧೧ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಕ್ಷಯಿಸುವುದು, ದುಡಿದು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನಿಗೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವುದು.

Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished; but he that gathereth little by little shall increase.

12 ೧೨ ಕೋರಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ತಡವಾದರೆ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬಳಲುವುದು, ಕೈಗೂಡಿದ ಇಷ್ಟಾರ್ಥವು ಜೀವವೃಕ್ಷವು.

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

13 ೧೩ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸುವವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು, ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಸಫಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವನು.

Whoso despiseth the word shall suffer thereby; but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

14 ೧೪ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯ ಬೋಧನೆ ಜೀವದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆ, ಅದನ್ನಾಲಿಸುವವನು ಮೃತ್ಯುಪಾಶದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.

The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

15 ೧೫ ಸುಬುದ್ಧಿಯು ದಯಾಸ್ಪದವು, ದ್ರೋಹಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ನಾಶಕರ.

Good understanding giveth grace; but the way of the faithless is harsh.

16 ೧೬ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಜಾಣನು ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಸುವನು, ಮೂಢನು ತನ್ನ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸುವನು.

Every prudent man dealeth with forethought; but a fool unfoldeth folly.

17 ೧೭ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ದೂತನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಬೀಳುವನು, ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಯು ಕ್ಷೇಮದಾಯಕನು.

A wicked messenger falleth into evil; but a faithful ambassador is health.

18 ೧೮ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಬಡತನ ಮತ್ತು ಅವಮಾನ, ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಮಾನ.

Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction; but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

19 ೧೯ ಇಷ್ಟಸಿದ್ಧಿ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಿಹಿ, ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವುದು ಮೂಢರಿಗೆ ಕಹಿ.

The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul; and it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.

20 ೨೦ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಸಹವಾಸಿ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾಗುವನು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನರ ಒಡನಾಡಿ ಸಂಕಟಪಡುವನು.

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise; but the companion of fools shall smart for it.

21 ೨೧ ಅಮಂಗಳವು ಪಾಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವುದು, ಮಂಗಳವು ಸಜ್ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವಾಗುವುದು.

Evil pursueth sinners; but to the righteous good shall be repaid.

22 ೨೨ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನ ಆಸ್ತಿ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಿಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯ, ಪಾಪಿಯ ಸೊತ್ತು ಸಜ್ಜನರಿಗೆ ಗಂಟು.

A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children; and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous.

23 ೨೩ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಬಂಜರು ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಬಹು ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನೀಯುವುದು, ಅನ್ಯಾಯದಿಂದ ಹಾಳಾದ ಸುದ್ದಿಯು ಉಂಟು.

Much food is in the tillage of the poor; but there is that is swept away by want of righteousness.

24 ೨೪ ಬೆತ್ತ ಹಿಡಿಯದ ತಂದೆ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಶತ್ರು, ಸುಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ತಂದೆ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಮಿತ್ರ.

He that spareth his rod hateth his son; but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

25 ೨೫ ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆತುಂಬಾ ಉಣ್ಣುವನು, ದುಷ್ಟನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಹಸಿದಿರುವುದು.

The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his desire; but the belly of the wicked shall want.
