ನೆಹೆಮೀಯನು 9
1 ೧ ಅದೇ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಉಪವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಗೋಣೀತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಣ್ಣುಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ನೆರೆದು ಬಂದರು.
And on the twenty and fourth day of this month were the children of Israel assembled with fasting, and in sackclothes, and with earth upon them.
2 ೨ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಸಂತಾನದವರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅನ್ಯಕುಲದವರಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನೂ, ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿದರು.
And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all children of the strangers: and they stood forward and made confession for their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.
3 ೩ ಅವರು ಮೂರು ತಾಸುಗಳವರೆಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮಗಳ ಗ್ರಂಥವನ್ನು ಪಾರಾಯಣಮಾಡಿದರು. ತರುವಾಯ ಇನ್ನೂ ಮೂರು ತಾಸು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡ ಬಿದ್ದು ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿದರು.
And they stood up in their standing-place, and read in the book of the law of the Lord their God the fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they made confession, and prostrated themselves before the Lord their God.
4 ೪ ಯೇಷೂವ, ಬಾನೀ ಕದ್ಮೀಯೇಲ್, ಶೆಬನ್ಯ, ಬುನ್ನೀ, ಶೇರೇಬ್ಯ, ಬಾನೀ, ಕೆನಾನೀ ಎಂಬುವವರು ಲೇವಿಯರು ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತು ಮಹಾಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟರು.
Then stood up upon the stairs of the Levites, Jeshua' and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebanyah, Bunni, Sherebyah, Bani, and Kenani, and they cried with a loud voice unto the Lord their God.
5 ೫ ಆನಂತರ ಲೇವಿಯರಾದ ಯೇಷೂವ, ಕದ್ಮೀಯೇಲ್, ಬಾನೀ, ಹಷಬ್ನೆಯ, ಶೇರೇಬ್ಯ, ಹೋದೀಯ, ಶೆಬನ್ಯ, ಪೆತಹ್ಯ ಎಂಬುವವರು, “ಏಳಿರಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಯುಗಯುಗಕ್ಕೂ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿರಿ. ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಸರ್ವಸ್ತುತಿ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಮೀಗಿಲಾಗಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಾನಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮಹಿಮೆಯುಂಟಾಗಲಿ.
Then said the Levites, Jeshua', and Kadmiel, Bani, Chashabneyah, Sherebyah, Hodiyah, Shebanyah, and Pethachyah, Arise! bless ye the Lord your God from eternity to eternity. And let men bless thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.
6 ೬ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ನೀನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ದೇವರು; ನೀನು ಉನ್ನತೋನ್ನತವಾದ ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನೂ, ಅದರ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನೂ, ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಮೇಲಿರುವುದನ್ನೂ, ಸಮುದ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜಲಚರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಜೀವಕೊಡುವಾತನಾಗಿರುತ್ತೀ. ಆಕಾಶಸೈನ್ಯದವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Thou indeed art the Eternal One alone: It is thou that hast made the heavens with all their host, the earth, and all that is upon her, the seas, and all that is in them, and thou givest life to them all; and the host of the heavens bow down before thee.
7 ೭ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಅಬ್ರಾಮನನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಸ್ದೀಯರ ಊರ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿ, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ದೇವರು ನೀನೇ.
Thou art indeed the Lord the [true] God, who didst choose Abram, and bring him forth out of Ur of the Chaldeans, and change his name to Abraham;
8 ೮ ಅವನು ಯಥಾರ್ಥಚಿತ್ತನೆಂದು ಕಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರು, ಹಿತ್ತಿಯರು, ಅಮೋರಿಯರು, ಪೆರಿಜ್ಜೀಯರು, ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರು, ಗಿರ್ಗಾಷಿಯರು ಇವರ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನದವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ವಾಗ್ದಾನಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನೀತಿಸ್ವರೂಪನು.
And thou didst find his heart faithful before thee: and thou madest with him the covenant to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Emorites, and the Perizittes, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashite—to give it to his seed: and thou hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous.
9 ೯ ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗಿದ್ದ ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, ಕೆಂಪುಸಮುದ್ರದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟಾಗ ನೀನು ಆಲಿಸಿದಿ.
And thou didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and their cry didst thou hear by the Red Sea;
10 ೧೦ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರು ಗರ್ವಿಗಳಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರನ್ನು ಕುಗ್ಗಿಸಿದಾಗ, ನೀನು ಫರೋಹನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿಯು, ಅವನ ದೇಶದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅದ್ಭುತಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ ಈಗ ನಿನಗಿರುವ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆ.
And thou didst display signs and wonders on Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they had dealt presumptuously against them; and thou didst [thus] make thyself a name, as it is this day.
11 ೧೧ ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಣನೆಲದಲ್ಲೇ ಹಾದುಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸಿದ್ದೀ. ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿದವರನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆ ಮಹಾಜಲರಾಶಿಯ ತಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟೆ.
And the sea didst thou divide before them, so that they passed through the midst of the sea on dry land; and their pursuers didst thou throw into the deeps, like a stone in mighty waters.
12 ೧೨ ಹಗಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಘಸ್ತಂಭವಾಗಿಯೂ, ರಾತ್ರಿ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ನಡೆಯತಕ್ಕ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕುಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಗ್ನಿಸ್ತಂಭವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀನು ನಡೆದೆ.
And by a pillar of cloud didst thou lead them in the day, and by a pillar of fire in the night, to give light unto them on the way whereon they should go.
13 ೧೩ ಸೀನಾಯಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಅವರೊಡನೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೀತಿನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಯಥಾರ್ಥ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನೂ, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದೆ.
Also on mount Sinai camest thou down, and spokest with them from heaven; and thou gavest them upright ordinances, and truthful laws, good statutes and commandments;
14 ೧೪ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ನಿನಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾದ ಸಬ್ಬತೆಂಬ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿ, ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಿದೆ.
And thy holy sabbath madest thou known unto them, and commandments, statutes, and a law didst thou enjoin on them, by the hand of Moses thy servant.
15 ೧೫ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹಸಿವಾದಾಗ ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಬಾಯಾರಿದಾಗ ಬಂಡೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿ, ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ವಾಗ್ದಾನಮಾಡಿದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಸೇರಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದೆ.
And bread from heaven didst thou give them for their hunger, and water out of the rock broughtest thou forth for them for their thirst; and thou didst order them to go in to take possession of the land concerning which thou hadst lifted up thy hand to give it unto them.
And they and our fathers acted presumptuously, and hardened their neck, and hearkened not to thy commandments.
17 ೧೭ ನೀನು ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಬೇಗನೆ ಮರೆತು, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ ಹಠಹಿಡಿದು, ತಮಗೊಬ್ಬ ನಾಯಕನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಮೊದಲಿನಂತೆ ದಾಸರಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಐಗುಪ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ನೀನಾದರೋ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವವನೂ, ಕನಿಕರ ದಯೆಗಳುಳ್ಳವನೂ, ದೀರ್ಘಶಾಂತನೂ, ಕೃಪಾಳುವೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಅವರ ಕೈಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And they refused to obey, and remembered not thy marvelous deeds which thou hadst done with them; but they hardened their neck, and [spoke of] appointing a chief to return to their bondage, in their rebellion; but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, long-suffering, and abundant in kindness, and forsookest them not.
18 ೧೮ ಅವರು ತಮಗೆ ಎರಕದ ಬಸವನನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ‘ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ದೇವರು ಇದೇ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಮಾಡಿದಾಗಲೂ,
Yea, although they had made for themselves a molten calf, and said, 'This is thy god that hath brought thee up out of Egypt,' and had practised great provocations:
19 ೧೯ ಕರುಣಾನಿಧಿಯಾದ ನೀನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಹಗಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ದಾರಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮೇಘಸ್ತಂಭವೂ, ರಾತ್ರಿವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ನಡೆಯತಕ್ಕ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕುಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅಗ್ನಿಸ್ತಂಭವೂ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
Yet in thy abundant mercies didst thou not forsake them in the wilderness: the pillar of cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them on the way; nor the pillar of fire by night, to give them light on the way whereon they should go.
20 ೨೦ ಅವರನ್ನು ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಲು ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಆತ್ಮನನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟೆ. ಅವರ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಮನ್ನವನ್ನು ಹಿಂದೆಗೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಬಾಯಾರಿದಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟೆ.
And thy good spirit thou gavest to make them intelligent, and thy manna thou withheldest not from their mouth, and water thou gavest them for their thirst.
21 ೨೧ ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೆ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಕೊರತೆಯೂ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳು ಹರಿದುಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವರ ಕಾಲುಗಳು ನೋವಿನಿಂದ ಊದಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And forty years didst thou provide for them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing; their clothes did not wear out; and their feet swelled not.
22 ೨೨ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಶಪಡಿಸಿ, ಆ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ವತ್ತಾಗಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಟ್ಟೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರು ಹೆಷ್ಬೋನಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೀಹೋನ್, ಬಾಷಾನಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಓಗ್ ಇವರ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
Thou gavest them also kingdoms and nations, which thou didst divide into various corners: and they took possession of the land of Sichon, even the land of the king of Cheshbon, and the land of 'Og the king of Bashan.
23 ೨೩ ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಆಕಾಶದ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳಂತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿ, ನೀವು ಈ ದೇಶದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅವರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದೆ.
And their children didst thou multiply like the stars of heaven, and then broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst ordered their fathers to enter in to take possession of it.
24 ೨೪ ಅವರು ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ನೀನು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ದೇಶನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕುಗ್ಗಿಸಿ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಬಂದಂತೆ ನಡಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಆ ದೇಶದ ರಾಜರನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದೆ.
And the children entered in and took possession of the land; and thou didst humble before them the inhabitants of the land, the Cana'anites, and gavest them up into their hands, with their kings, and the nations of the land, that they might do with them according to their pleasure.
25 ೨೫ ಅವರು ಕೋಟೆಕೊತ್ತಲುಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸಾರವುಳ್ಳ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ವಿಧವಾದ ಉತ್ತಮ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ತೋಡಿದ ಬಾವಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಎಣ್ಣೇಮರಗಳ ತೋಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಮರ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ವಶಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಂದು, ಕುಡಿದು ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗಿ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿ, ನೀನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
And they captured fortified cities, and a fat soil; and they took possession of houses full of all good things, hewn-out wells, vineyards, and olive-yards, and fruit trees in abundance; and they ate, and were satisfied, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.
26 ೨೬ ಆಗ ಅವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಮಾಡಿದರು.
Then became they disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their back, and they slew thy prophets who had warned them to bring them back unto thee, and they practised great provocations.
27 ೨೭ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಅವರನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸುವ ವಿರೋಧಿಗಳ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದೆ. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಷ್ಟಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡಲು ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನ ಕರುಣಾತಿಶಯದಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ವಿರೋಧಿಗಳ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪಾರುಮಾಡಿದೆ.
Thereupon thou gavest them up into the hand of their adversaries, who oppressed them: and in the time of their distress they used to cry unto thee, and thou ever heardest them from heaven; and according to thy abundant mercies thou wast wont to give them helpers, who helped them out of the hand of their adversaries.
28 ೨೮ ಉಪಶಮನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ತಿರುಗಿ ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕಂಡು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ದೊರೆತನ ನಡೆಸತಕ್ಕ ವೈರಿಗಳ ಕೈಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದೆ. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ಕೂಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪುನಃ ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಕರುಣಾತಿಶಯದಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅನೇಕಾವರ್ತಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದೆ.
But when [once more] they had rest, they did again evil before thee: wherefore thou didst leave them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them; and when they returned, and cried unto thee, thou wast wont to hear them from heaven, and thou didst ever deliver them according to thy mercies many times.
29 ೨೯ ನಿನ್ನ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪುನಃ ಮನಗೊಟ್ಟು ಬನ್ನಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದೆ. ಆದರೂ ಅವರು ಲಾಲಿಸದೆ ಗರ್ವಿಗಳೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯರೂ ಆದರು. ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಜೀವಾಧಾರವಾಗಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಧಿನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿ ಮೊಂಡು ಬಿದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರು.
And thou gavest them warning to bring them back unto thy law: yet they acted presumptuously, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, and sinned against thy ordinances, which a man is to do that he may live through them: and they rendered their shoulder rebellious, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.
30 ೩೦ ನೀನು ಅನೇಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ತನಕ ಅವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ನಿನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅನ್ಯದೇಶಗಳವರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟೆ.
Yet thou gavest them indulgence many years, and didst warn them through thy spirit by means of thy prophets; but they gave no ear: therefore didst thou give them up into the hand of the nations of the lands.
31 ೩೧ ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ದಯೆಯೂ ಕನಿಕರವೂ ಉಳ್ಳ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವುರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಾಕೃಪಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಕೈಬಿಡಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Yet in thy abundant mercies hast thou not made an entire end of them, and thou hast not forsaken them; for a gracious and merciful God art thou.
32 ೩೨ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರೇ, ಮಹೋನ್ನತನೂ, ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಯೂ, ಭಯಂಕರನೂ ಆಗಿರುವಾತನೇ, ಕೃಪಾವಾಗ್ದಾನಗಳನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವ ದೇವರೇ, ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ರಾಜರ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಸರಿಗೂ, ಪ್ರಭುಗಳಿಗೂ, ಯಾಜಕರಿಗೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾದ ಕಷ್ಟವು ಅಲ್ಪವು ಎಂದು ಎಣಿಸಬೇಡ.
And now, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest the covenant and kindness, let not be esteemed as little before thee all the hardship that hath befallen us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until this day.
33 ೩೩ ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದರೂ ನೀನು ನೀತಿಸ್ವರೂಪನೇ. ನೀನು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ನಡಿಸಿದೆ. ನಾವಾದರೋ ದುಷ್ಟರು.
Nevertheless thou art righteous in all that is come over us; for thou hast acted [according to] truth, but we have done wickedly.
34 ೩೪ ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಸರೂ, ಪ್ರಭುಗಳೂ, ಯಾಜಕರೂ, ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನಿನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Also our kings, our priests, and our fathers have not executed thy law, and have not listened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst warn them.
35 ೩೫ ಅವರು ಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ನೀನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ದೊರಕಿದ ಫಲವತ್ತಾದ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸದೆಯೂ ತಮ್ಮ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡದೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದಲೇ ನಾವು ಈಗ ದಾಸರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
But they in their kingdom, and in thy abundant goodness which thou hadst given unto them, and in the ample and fat land which thou hadst given up before them, did indeed not serve thee, and they turned not away from their wicked deeds.
36 ೩೬ ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ, ಇದರ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನವನ್ನೂ, ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ಅನುಭವಿಸಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೇ ನಾವು ದಾಸರಾಗಿರಬೇಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ.
Behold, we are this day servants: and as regardeth the land that thou gavest unto our fathers to eat its fruit and its good things, behold, we are servants in it;
37 ೩೭ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ರಾಜರಿಗೆ ಈ ದೇಶದ ಹೇರಳವಾದ ಹುಟ್ಟುವಳಿಯು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ ಇದೆ. ದೈಹಿಕವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಶುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಬಂದಂತೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ನಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಾವು ಮಹಾಸಂಕಟದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರು.
And it yieldeth its products in abundance for the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins; also over our bodies have they dominion, and over our cattle [also] at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.
38 ೩೮ ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರಣಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ನೆನಪುಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಲೇಖನ ರೂಪವಾದ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳೂ, ಲೇವಿಯರೂ, ಯಾಜಕರೂ ಸಹಿಮಾಡಿ ಮುದ್ರೆ ಹಾಕಿರುವರು.
And because of all this, we make a faithful covenant, and write it down; and on the sealed document are our princes, our Levites, and our priests.
