ಮತ್ತಾಯನು 14
At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the fame of Jesus,
2 ೨ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ, “ಇವನು ಸ್ನಾನಿಕ ಯೋಹಾನನೇ; ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುವ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
and said to his servants, This is John the baptist, he is certainly risen from the dead, and therefore miraculous things are done by him:
3 ೩ ಹೆರೋದನು ತನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನಾದ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಹೆರೋದ್ಯಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಯೋಹಾನನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
for Herod had apprehended John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife;
for John said to Him, It is not lawful for thee to have her: and he would have put him to death,
5 ೫ ಹೆರೋದನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರೂ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟನು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
but that he was afraid of the people; for they esteemed him as a prophet.
6 ೬ ಆದರೆ ಹೆರೋದನ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ದಿನದ ಹಬ್ಬವು ನಡೆಯುವಾಗ ಹೆರೋದ್ಯಳ ಮಗಳು ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ನೃತ್ಯಮಾಡಿ ಹೆರೋದನನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದಳು.
But when Herod's birth-day was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod, so
that he promised her with an oath to give her whatever she would ask:
and she, being before instructed by her mother, said, Give me here in a dish the head of John the baptist:
9 ೯ ಆಕೆಯ ಕೋರಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಅರಸನು ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟರೂ ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಆಣೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ, ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅದನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
at which the king was distressed, but because of his oath, and of those who sat at table with him, he ordered it to be given her;
and he sent and beheaded John in the prison,
11 ೧೧ ಅವರು ಅವನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಹರಿವಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದು ಆ ಹುಡುಗಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಅವಳು ಅದನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದಳು.
and his head was brought in a dish, and given to the young princess, who carried it to her mother:
12 ೧೨ ಯೋಹಾನನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಬಂದು ಅವನ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅನಂತರ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
and his disciples came and took up the body and buried it, and then went and told Jesus.
13 ೧೩ ಯೇಸು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅಡವಿಯ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಜನರು ಗುಂಪು ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾಲುನಡಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು.
And when Jesus heard it, He departed from thence in a ship to a solitary place of retirement: but the people hearing where He was followed Him on foot from the cities:
14 ೧೪ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಬಹು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕನಿಕರಪಟ್ಟು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ರೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡಿದನು.
and when Jesus came out of the ship, He saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them; and He healed their sick.
15 ೧೫ ಸಂಜೆಯಾದಾಗ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಇದು ಅಡವಿಯ ಸ್ಥಳ ಈಗ ಹೊತ್ತು ಮುಳುಗಿಹೋಯಿತು. ಅವರು ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಮಗಾಗಿ ಆಹಾರ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
Now when it was evening his disciples came to Him and said, This is a desert place, and meal-time is now past; dismiss the people, that they may go away to the towns, and buy themselves victuals.
But Jesus said to them, they have no need to go away, do ye give them something to eat.
And they said, we have nothing here but five loaves and two fishes:
and He said, bring them hither to me.
19 ೧೯ ತರುವಾಯ ಜನರ ಗುಂಪಿಗೆ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಆ ಐದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಎರಡು ಮೀನುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
And having ordered the multitudes to sit down upon the grass, and taken the five loaves and the two fishes, He looked up to heaven and blessed them; and He brake the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples to the people: and they did all eat, and were satisfied;
and they took up what was left even of fragments twelve baskets full.
Now they that had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
22 ೨೨ ಇದಾದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಈ ಜನರ ಗುಂಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಡುವಷ್ಟರೊಳಗೆ ನೀವು ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ನನಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಆಚೇದಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
And presently after Jesus obliged the disciples to get into the ship, and to go before Him to the other side, while He dismissed the multitudes:
23 ೨೩ ಆತನು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಏಕಾಂಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದನು. ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಜೆಯಾದಾಗ ಆತನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು.
and when He had dismissed them, He went up to a hill in private to pray.
24 ೨೪ ಆದರೆ ದೋಣಿಯು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ನಡುವೆಯಿತ್ತು, ಎದುರು ಗಾಳಿ ಬೀಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅಲೆಗಳ ಬಡಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿ ಹೊಯ್ದಾಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
And in the evening He was there alone. Now the ship was by this time in the midst of the sea, and violently tossed by the waves; for the wind was contrary:
but in the fourth watch of the night Jesus came to them walking on the sea:
and when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were affrighted and said, It is an apparition;
and they cried out for fear: but Jesus immediately spake to them, saying, Take courage, it is I, be not afraid.
28 ೨೮ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೇತ್ರನು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ ನೀನೇ ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನೀರಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡು” ಅನ್ನಲು,
Then Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it be thou, command me to come unto thee upon the waters.
And He said, Come.
30 ೩೦ ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಮುಳುಗಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡು” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And Peter went down from the ship and walked upon the waters to go to Jesus: but seeing the wind boisterous, he was afraid, and beginning to sink cried out, Lord, save me.
And Jesus, immediately stretching forth his hand, laid hold of him, and saith to him, O man of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
So they got into the ship, and the wind ceased.
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Thou art indeed the Son of God.
And they passed over and came into the country of Gennesaret.
35 ೩೫ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಜನರು ಆತನ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಆ ಸುತ್ತಲಿನ ಸೀಮೆಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರಾದವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದರು.
And the men of that place getting knowledge of Him, sent into all that country about; and they brought to Him all that were ill;
36 ೩೬ ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಉಡುಪಿನ ಅಂಚನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮುಟ್ಟಗೊಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು, ಮತ್ತು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥರಾದರು.
and intreated Him that they might but touch the border of his garment; and as many as touched Him were made perfectly well.
