ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು 12

1 ೧ ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರು ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಉತ್ತರದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚಾಫೋನಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯೆಪ್ತಾಹನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಕರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ? ಈಗ ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುತ್ತೇವೆ” ಅಂದರು.

And the men of Ephraim were called together, and went northward, and said unto Yiphthach, Wherefore didst thou pass over to fight against the children of 'Ammon, and didst not call for us to go with thee? thy house will we burn over thee with fire.

2 ೨ ಆಗ ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನನಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಜನರಿಗೂ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರೊಡನೆ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರೆದೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಬಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.

And Yiphthach said unto them, I and my people were greatly engaged in strife with the children of 'Ammon; and I called you, but ye helped me not out of their hand.

3 ೩ ನೀವು ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರೊಡನೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದೆನು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗಿರಲು ನೀವು ಈಗ ಬಂದು ನನ್ನೊಡನೆ ಕಲಹಮಾಡುವುದೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿ,

And when I saw that ye helped me not, I put my life in my hand, and passed over to the children of 'Ammon, and the Lord delivered them into my hand; and why then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?

4 ೪ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಂತನು. ಆಗ ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರು “ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ಯರಾದ ನೀವು, ನಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಸ್ವಕುಲವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಓಡಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ” ಎಂದು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ಯರು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸೋಲಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.

Then Yiphthach gathered together all the men of Gil'ad, and fought with Ephraim; and the men of Gil'ad smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye are fugitives of Ephraim: Gil'ad is in the midst, between Ephraim and Menasseh.

5 ೫ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಹಾಯಗಡಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಿಡಿದರು. ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರಲ್ಲೊಬ್ಬನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದಾಟಗೊಡಿಸಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರೆ ಅವರು, “ನೀನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯನೋ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವರು.

And the Gil'adites seized on the passages of the Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it came to pass, when the Ephraimites who had escaped said, Let me pass over; that the men of Gil'ad said unto him, Art thou an Ephrathite? and if he said, No;

6 ೬ ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲವೆಂದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಷಿಬ್ಬೋಲೆತ್ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು. ಹಾಗೆ ಅನ್ನಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದೆ ಅವನು ಸಿಬ್ಬೋಲೆತ್ ಅನ್ನುವನು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಹಾಯಗಡಗಳ (ಕಾಲ್ನಡಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ದಾಟಬಹುದಾದ ನಿರುಳ್ಳಸ್ಥಳ) ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುವರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರೊಳಗೆ ನಲ್ವತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರು ಹತರಾದರು.

Then said they unto him, Do say, Shibboleth; but when he said, Sibboleth, and was not able to pronounce it correctly, they laid hold of him and slew him on the passages of the Jordan; and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

7 ೭ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ಯನಾದ ಯೆಪ್ತಾಹನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಆರು ವರ್ಷ ಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಸತ್ತನು; ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ಒಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

And Yiphthach judged Israel six years; and then died Yiphthach the Gil'adite, and was buried in [one of] the cities of Gil'ad.

8 ೮ ಯೆಪ್ತಾಹನ ತರುವಾಯ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನವನಾದ ಇಬ್ಚಾನನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ನ್ಯಾಯಪಾಲಕನಾದನು.

And after him there judged Israel Ibzan of Beth-lechem.

9 ೯ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಗಂಡುಮಕ್ಕಳೂ, ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ತನ್ನ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಬೇರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಗಂಡುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹೊರಗಿನ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರನ್ನು ತಂದನು.

And he had thirty sons; and thirty daughters he sent abroad, and thirty daughters he brought in for his sons from abroad: and he judged Israel seven years.

10 ೧೦ ಇವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಏಳು ವರ್ಷ ಪಾಲಿಸಿದನು. ಇಬ್ಚಾನನು ಸತ್ತ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.

Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Beth-lechem.

11 ೧೧ ಇವನ ತರುವಾಯ ಜೆಬುಲೂನ್ಯನಾದ ಏಲೋನನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಪಾಲಕನಾಗಿ ಹತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು.

And after him there judged Israel Elon the Zebulonite; and he judged Israel ten years.

12 ೧೨ ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಜೆಬುಲೂನ್ ದೇಶದ ಅಯ್ಯಾಲೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.

Then died Elon the Zebulonite, and was buried in Ayalon in the country of Zebulun.

13 ೧೩ ಇವನ ತರುವಾಯ ಪಿರಾತೋನಿನವನೂ, ಹಿಲ್ಲೇಲನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಅಬ್ದೋನನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಪಾಲಕನಾದನು.

And after him there judged Israel 'Abdon the son of Hillel the Pir'athonite.

14 ೧೪ ಇವನಿಗೆ ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ, ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಸವಾರಿಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಕತ್ತೆಗಳಿದ್ದವು. ಪಿರಾತೋನಿನವನೂ ಹಿಲ್ಲೇಲನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಅಬ್ದೋನನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಎಂಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು;

And he had forty sons and thirty grandsons, that rode on seventy ass-colts; and he judged Israel eight years.

15 ೧೫ ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಪಿರಾತೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.

Then died 'Abdon the son of Hillel the Pir'athonite, and was buried in Pir'athon in the land of Ephraim, in the mountain of the 'Amalekites.
