< ಯೋನನು 2 >

1 ೧ ಯೋನನು ಆ ಮೀನಿನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಇದ್ದು ಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು:
From inside the fish, Jonah prayed to the LORD his God,
2 ೨ “ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟೆನು; ಆತನು ನನಗೆ ಸದುತ್ತರವನ್ನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದನು; ಪಾತಾಳದ ಗರ್ಭದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೂಗಿಕೊಂಡೆನು! ಆಹಾ, ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಲಾಲಿಸಿದೆ. (Sheol h7585)
saying: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. From the belly of Sheol I called for help, and You heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
3 ೩ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಅಗಾಧಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ; ಪ್ರವಾಹವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿತು; ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಅಲೆಗಳೂ, ತೆರೆಗಳೂ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಟಿ ಹೋದವು
For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the current swirled about me; all Your breakers and waves swept over me.
4 ೪ ‘ನಿನ್ನ ಸಾನ್ನಿಧ್ಯದಿಂದ ತಳ್ಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡೆನು; ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಮಂದಿರದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಪುನಃ ಹೇಗೆ ನೋಡುವೆನು?’
At this, I said, ‘I have been banished from Your sight; yet I will look once more toward Your holy temple.’
5 ೫ ಜಲರಾಶಿಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾನಿ ತಂದಿತು, ಮಹಾಸಾಗರವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಆವರಿಸಿತು, ಕಡಲಕಳೆಯು ನನ್ನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿತು.
The waters engulfed me to take my life; the watery depths closed around me; the seaweed wrapped around my head.
6 ೬ ಪರ್ವತಗಳ ತಳಹದಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದುಹೋದೆನು, ಭೂಲೋಕದ ದ್ವಾರಗಳ ಚಿಲಕಗಳು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ತೆಗೆಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದವು; ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಅಧೋಲೋಕದೊಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಉದ್ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದೀ.
To the roots of the mountains I descended; the earth beneath me barred me in forever! But You raised my life from the pit, O LORD my God!
7 ೭ “ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಂದಿಹೋದಾಗ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೆನಪು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದೆನು; ನನ್ನ ಬಿನ್ನಹವು ನಿನಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿತು, ಅದು ನಿನ್ನ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಬಂದು ಸೇರಿತು.
As my life was fading away, I remembered the LORD. My prayer went up to You, to Your holy temple.
8 ೮ “ನಿರ್ಜೀವ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿದವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಕರುಣಾನಿಧಿಯನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಡುವರು.
Those who cling to worthless idols forsake His loving devotion.
9 ೯ ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಯಜ್ಞವನ್ನರ್ಪಿಸುವೆನು, ನಿನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಹರಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವೆನು. ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಂದಲೇ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದು.”
But I, with the voice of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to You. I will fulfill what I have vowed. Salvation is from the LORD!”
10 ೧೦ ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೀನಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡಲು ಅದು ಯೋನನನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ದಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
