ಯೋಬನು 8

1 ೧ “ಆಗ ಶೂಹ್ಯನಾದ ಬಿಲ್ದದನು ಹೀಗೆಂದನು,

The Baldad the Suhite answered, and said:

2 ೨ “ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯಂತಿರುವ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿ ಇನ್ನೆಷ್ಟರವರೆಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವಿ?

How long wilt thou speak these things, and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

3 ೩ ದೇವರು ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾದ ತೀರ್ಪನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವನೋ? ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಡೊಂಕುಮಾಡುವನೋ?

Doth God pervert judgment, or doth the Almighty overthrow that which is just?

4 ೪ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಆತನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯದ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನೋ ಏನೋ?

Although thy children have sinned against him, and he hath left them in the hand of their iniquity:

5 ೫ ನೀನು ಶುದ್ಧನೂ, ಯಥಾರ್ಥನೂ ಆಗಿ ಕುತೂಹಲದಿಂದ ಆತನ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನತೆಯನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿ, ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ,

Yet if thou wilt arise early to God, and wilt beseech the Almighty:

6 ೬ ಆತನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತು, ನಿನ್ನ ನೀತಿಯ ನಿವಾಸವನ್ನು ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸುವನು.

If thou wilt walk clean and upright, he will presently awake onto thee, and will make the dwelling of thy justice peaceable:

7 ೭ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯು ಅಲ್ಪವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಡೆಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯು ಬಹಳ ವೃದ್ಧಿಹೊಂದುವುದು.

Insomuch, that if thy former things were small, thy latter things would be multiplied exceedingly.

8 ೮ ದಯಮಾಡಿ, ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ, ಅವರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಡು.

For inquire of the former generation, and search diligently into the memory of the fathers:

9 ೯ ನಾವಾದರೋ ನಿನ್ನೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರು, ನಮಗೆ ಏನೂ ತಿಳಿಯದು. ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿನ ನಮ್ಮ ದಿನಗಳು ನೆರಳಿನಂತಿವೆಯಷ್ಟೆ.

(For we are but of yesterday, and are ignorant that our days upon earth are but a shadow: )

10 ೧೦ ಅವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೇಳಿ, ಮನಃಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

And they shall teach thee: they shall speak to thee, and utter words out of their hearts.

11 ೧೧ ಜವುಗು ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಜಂಬುಹುಲ್ಲು ಬೆಳೆಯುವುದೇ? ನೀರಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಪುಹುಲ್ಲು ಮೊಳೆಯುವುದೇ?

Can the rush be green without moisture? or a sedge-bush grow without water?

12 ೧೨ ಇನ್ನೂ ಎಳೆಯದಾಗಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಮಿಕ್ಕ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಸಿಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ, ಯಾರೂ ಕೊಯ್ಯದೆ ಇದು ಒಣಗಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು.

When it is yet in flower, and is not plucked up with the hand, it withereth before all herbs.

13 ೧೩ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮರೆತು ಬಿಟ್ಟವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಗತಿಯು ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಇರುವುದು; ಭ್ರಷ್ಟನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ನಿರರ್ಥಕವಾಗುವುದು.

Even so are the ways of all that forget God, and the hope of the hypocrite shall perish:

14 ೧೪ ಅವನ ಭರವಸವು ಭಂಗವಾಗುವುದು, ಅವನ ಆಶ್ರಯವು ಜೇಡದ ಮನೆಯಂತಿರುವುದು.

His folly shall not please him, and his trust shall be like the spider’s web.

15 ೧೫ ಅವನು ಆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಆತುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದು ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದು ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿರದು.

He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand: he shall prop it up, and it shall not rise:

16 ೧೬ ಅವನು ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಂತೆ ಬಿಸಿಲಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಸಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ತೋಟದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕವಲೊಡೆದು ಹರಡಿ

He seemeth to have moisture before the sun cometh, and at his rising his blossom shall shoot forth.

17 ೧೭ (ಕಲ್ಲು) ಕುಪ್ಪೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಬೇರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಣೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಕಲ್ಲುಬಿರುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನುಗ್ಗಬಲ್ಲನು.

His roots shall be thick upon a heap of stones, and among the stones he shall abide.

18 ೧೮ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಕಿತ್ತು ಹಾಕಿದರೆ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವು, ‘ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಣೆ’ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುವುದು.

If one swallow him up out of his place, he shall deny him, and shall say: I know thee not.

19 ೧೯ ಆ ಮಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದ ಬೇರೆ ಸಸಿಗಳು ಮೊಳೆಯುವವು. ಆಹಾ, ಇದೇ ಅವನ ಗತಿಯ ಸುಖ!

For this is the joy of his way, that others may spring again out of the earth.

20 ೨೦ ಇಗೋ ದೇವರು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕೆಡುಕರನ್ನು ಕೈಹಿಡಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

God will not cast away the simple, nor reach out his hand to the evildoer:

21 ೨೧ ಆತನು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯನ್ನು ನಗುವಿನಿಂದಲೂ, ತುಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ತುಂಬಿಸುವನು.

Until thy mouth be filled with laughter, and thy lips with rejoicing.

22 ೨೨ ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನವು ಮುಸುಕುವುದು; ದುಷ್ಟರ ನಿವಾಸವು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲವಾಗುವುದು.”

They that hate thee, shall be clothed with confusion: and the dwelling of the wicked shall not stand.
