ಯೋಬನು 5

1 ೧ “ನೀನು ಕೂಗಿದರೆ, ನಿನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡುವವರುಂಟೋ? ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವದೂತರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸುವಿ?

Call now if there be any that will answer thee, and turn to some of the saints.

2 ೨ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಮೂರ್ಖನಿಗೆ ನಾಶವು, ರೋಷದಿಂದ ಮೂಢನಿಗೆ ಮರಣವು ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದಲ್ಲವೇ.

Anger indeed killeth the foolish, and envy slayeth the little one.

3 ೩ ಮೂರ್ಖನು ಬೇರೂರುವುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದೆನು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವನ ನಿವಾಸವು ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತವೆನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಸ್ಪದವಾಯಿತು.

I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I cursed his beauty immediately.

4 ೪ ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಆಶ್ರಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋತುಹೋಗುವರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸತಕ್ಕವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

His children shall be far from safety, and shall be destroyed in the gate, and there shall be none to deliver them.

5 ೫ ಹಸಿದವನು ಅವರ ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಳ್ಳುಬೇಲಿಹಾಕಿದ್ದರೂ ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವನು. ಅವರ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ನುಂಗಲು ಬಾಯಿ ತೆರೆದು ಕಾದಿರುವರು.

Whose harvest the hungry shall eat, and the armed man shall take him by violence, and the thirsty shall drink up his riches.

6 ೬ ಕೇಡು ಉದ್ಭವಿಸುವುದು ಮಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದಲ್ಲ; ದುಃಖವು ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಮೊಳೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Nothing upon earth is done without a voice cause, and sorrow doth not spring out of the ground.

7 ೭ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಗಳು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾರುವುದು, ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಶ್ರಮೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದೂ ಸಹಜ.

Man is born to labour and the bird to fly.

8 ೮ (ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ) ನಾನಾದರೋ ದೇವರನ್ನೇ ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು; ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೇ ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.

Wherefore I will pray to the Lord, and address my speech to God:

9 ೯ ಆತನು ಅಪ್ರಮೇಯ ಮಹಾಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತವಾದ ಅದ್ಭುತಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Who doth great things and unsearchable and wonderful things without number:

10 ೧೦ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಳೆಸುರಿಸಿ, ಹೊಲಗದ್ದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Who giveth rain upon the face of the earth, and watereth all things with waters:

11 ೧೧ ಹೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯವರನ್ನು ಉನ್ನತಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಏರಿಸಿ, ದುಃಖಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆತರುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Who setteth up the humble on high, and comforteth with health those that mourn.

12 ೧೨ ಯುಕ್ತಿವಂತರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಏನೂ ಆಗದಂತೆ, ಅವರ ಉಪಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಭಂಗಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Who bringeth to nought the designs of the malignant, so that their hands cannot accomplish what they had begun:

13 ೧೩ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ತಂತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ವಕ್ರಬುದ್ಧಿಯುಳ್ಳವರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರರ್ಥಕ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Who catcheth the wise in their craftiness, and disappointeth the counsel of the wicked:

14 ೧೪ ಅವರು ಹಗಲಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತುವರೆದು, ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದಲ್ಲೇ ರಾತ್ರಿಯವರಂತೆ ತಡಕಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.

They shall meet with darkness in the day, and grope at noonday as in the night.

15 ೧೫ ಇಂಥವರ ಬಾಯೆಂಬ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲೂ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

But he shall save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.

16 ೧೬ ಹೀಗೆ ಬಡವನಿಗೆ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯುಂಟಾಗುವುದು, ಅನ್ಯಾಯವು ಬಾಯಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.

And to the needy there shall he hope, but iniquity shall draw in her mouth.

17 ೧೭ ಇಗೋ, ದೇವರು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವನೋ ಅವನು ಧನ್ಯನು; ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಸಾರಮಾಡಬೇಡ.

Blessed is the mall whom God correcteth: refuse not therefore the chastising of the lord:

18 ೧೮ ಗಾಯಮಾಡುವವನೂ ಗಾಯಕಟ್ಟುವವನೂ ಆತನೇ; ಹೊಡೆಯುವ ಕೈಯೇ ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.

For he woundeth, and cureth: he striketh, and his hands shall heal.

19 ೧೯ ಆರು ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟುಗಳಿಂದ ಆತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವನು; ಏಳನೆಯ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟು ಉಂಟಾದರೂ ಯಾವ ಕೇಡೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟದು.

In six troubles he shall deliver thee, and in the seventh, evil shall not touch thee.

20 ೨೦ ಬರಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣದಿಂದಲೂ, ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವನು.

In famine he shall deliver thee from death: and in battle, from the hand of the sword.

21 ೨೧ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯೆಂಬ ಕೊರಡೆಗೆ ನೀನು ಮರೆಯಾಗಿರುವಿ; ವಿನಾಶವುಂಟಾದರೂ ನೀನು ಹೆದರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Thou shalt he hidden from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not fear calamity when it cometh.

22 ೨೨ ನೀನು ನಾಶಕ್ಕೂ, ಕ್ಷಾಮಕ್ಕೂ ನಗುವಿ; ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಂಜಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ.

In destruction and famine then shalt laugh: and thou shalt not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

23 ೨೩ ಹೊಲದ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೂ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವಿ; ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿರುವವು.

But thou shalt have a covenant with the stones of the lands, and the beasts of the earth shall be at pence with thee.

24 ೨೪ ನಿನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಾಯವಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತೇ ಇರುವುದು; ನಿನ್ನ ಹಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವಾಗ ಏನೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty thou shalt not sin.

25 ೨೫ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನವು ದೊಡ್ಡದ್ದೆಂದೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆ ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದವರು ಎಂದೂ ನಂಬಿರುವಿ.

Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be multiplied, and thy offspring like the grass of the earth.

26 ೨೬ ಸುಗ್ಗೀಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತೆನೆಯ ಸಿವುಡು ಮನೆಗೆ ಸೇರುವಂತೆ, ನೀನು ವೃದ್ಧಾಪ್ಯ ಕಳೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮಾಧಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವಿ.

Thou shalt enter into the grave in abundance, as a heap of wheat is brought in its season.

27 ೨೭ ಇಗೋ, ಇದನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದೆ; ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳು, ನಿನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನೇ ತಿಳಿದುಕೋ.”

Behold, this is even so, as we have searched out: which thou having heard, consider it thoroughly in thy mind.
