ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 9
1 ೧ ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ನನ್ನ ಶಿರಸ್ಸು ಜಲಮಯವಾಗಿಯೂ, ನನ್ನ ನೇತ್ರಗಳು ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿನ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಲೇಸು! ನನ್ನ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಹತರಾದವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಹಗಲಿರುಳೂ ಅಳಬೇಕಲ್ಲಾ!
Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
2 ೨ ಆಹಾ! ದಾರಿಗರು ತಂಗುವ ಗುಡಿಸಲು ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು! ಆಗ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು. ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿಗಳ, ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳ ಗುಂಪೇ.
Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
3 ೩ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆ ಬಗ್ಗಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಸತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕೂಲವಾಗಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಬಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕೇಡಿನಿಂದ ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಹಾರುತ್ತಾರೆ; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅರಿಯರು ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
And they bend their tongue [as it were] their bow for falsehood; and they are grown strong in the land, but not for truth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
4 ೪ ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೆರೆಯವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರಿ. ಯಾರೇ ಆಗಲಿ ತನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನನ್ನೂ ನಂಬದಿರಲಿ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ತಮ್ಮನೂ ವಂಚಿಸೇ ವಂಚಿಸುವನು, ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬ ನೆರೆಯವನೂ ಚಾಡಿಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ತಿರುಗಾಡುವನು.
Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will go about with slanders.
5 ೫ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ನೆರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಮೋಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಡುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ; ತಮ್ಮ ನಾಲಿಗೆಗೆ ಸುಳ್ಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಮಗೆ ಆಯಾಸವಾಗುವ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕೆಡುಕನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves to commit iniquity.
6 ೬ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸವು ಮೋಸದೊಳಗೆ ಇದೆ; ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಅವರು ಮೋಸಗಾರರಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯರು ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.
7 ೭ ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಆಹಾ, ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಜನರ ದ್ರೋಹಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಲಿ? ಅವರನ್ನು ಪುಟಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಶೋಧಿಸುವೆನು.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how [else] should I do, because of the daughter of my people?
8 ೮ ಅವರ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವ ಬಾಣವಾಗಿದೆ, ಅದು ಸುಳ್ಳನ್ನೇ ಆಡುತ್ತದೆ; ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಶುಭವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದೂ ಹೇಳಿದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in his heart he layeth wait for him.
9 ೯ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಇವುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ದಂಡಿಸಬಾರದೋ? ಇಂಥಾ ಜನಾಂಗದ ಮೇಲೆ ನನ್ನ ರೋಷವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸದಿರುವೆನೋ?” ಎಂದು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
10 ೧೦ “ನಾನು ಪರ್ವತಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಅತ್ತು ಗೋಳಾಡುವೆನು, ಅಡವಿಯ ಕಾವಲುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಶೋಕಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಡುವೆನು; ಅವು ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿವೆ, ಯಾರೂ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗರು, ದನಕರುಗಳ ಶಬ್ದ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬೀಳದು, ಮೃಗ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ತೊಲಗಿಹೋಗಿವೆ.
For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the pastures of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none passeth through; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled, they are gone.
11 ೧೧ ನಾನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ದಿಬ್ಬವನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ, ನರಿಗಳ ಹಕ್ಕೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡುವೆನು ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಜನವಿಲ್ಲದ ಬೀಳುಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲಾ.
And I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling place of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.
12 ೧೨ ಯಾರೂ ದಾಟದ ಹಾಗೆ ದೇಶವು ಹಾಳಾಗಿ ಕಾಡಿನಂತೆ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಹೋದದ್ದು ಏಕೆ? ಈ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸತಕ್ಕ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಯಾರು? ಅದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಬಾಯಿಂದಲೇ ಕೇಳಿ ತಿಳಿಸಬಲ್ಲವನು ಯಾರು?
Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and [who is] he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it? wherefore is the land and perished burned up like a wilderness, so that none passeth through?
13 ೧೩ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರೂ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನೂ ಆದ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ನಾನು ಇವರ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರಿಗೇ ಇಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಇವರು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಾರದೆ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರು.
And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
14 ೧೪ ಅವರು ಧರ್ಮದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯದೆ, ಸ್ವಂತ ಹೃದಯದ ಹಟದಂತೆ ನಡೆದು, ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ತಮಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಹಾಗೆ ಬಾಳ್ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು.
but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.
16 ೧೬ ಇವರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಇವರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಇವರನ್ನು ಚದರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಇವರು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲವಾಗುವ ತನಕ ಖಡ್ಗವನ್ನು ಇವರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them.
17 ೧೭ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ, “ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯೋಚಿಸಿರಿ; ರೋದನ ಗಾಯಕಿಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿರಿ, ಅವರು ಬರಲಿ; ಜಾಣೆಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ, ಅವರು ಸೇರಲಿ.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the cunning women, that they may come:
18 ೧೮ ಅವರು ತ್ವರೆಪಟ್ಟು ನಮ್ಮ ನೇತ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಧಾರೆಹೊರಡುವಂತೆಯೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದ ನೀರುಕ್ಕುವಂತೆಯೂ ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಡಲಿ.
and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
19 ೧೯ ‘ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಹಾಳಾದೆವು, ಭಂಗಪಟ್ಟೆವು; ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟೆವಲ್ಲಾ, ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿದ್ದಾರಲ್ಲಾ’” ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಲಾಪಧ್ವನಿಯು ಚೀಯೋನಿನೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.
20 ೨೦ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೇ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆತನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿದೆರೆಯಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಗೋಳಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸಿರಿ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬಳು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವಳಿಗೂ ಶೋಕಗೀತವನ್ನು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡಿಸಲಿ;
Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation.
21 ೨೧ ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ, ಚೌಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವಕರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮೃತ್ಯುವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹತ್ತಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಮನೆಗಳೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿದೆ.
For death is come up into our windows, it is entered into our palaces; to cut off the children from without, [and] the young men from the streets.
22 ೨೨ “ಈ ಜನರ ಹೆಣಗಳು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಗೊಬ್ಬರವಾಗುವುದು; ಅವು ಹೊಲ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಯಾರೂ ಕೂಡಿಸದೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವ ಸಿವುಡಿನಂತೆ ಇರುವವು, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಸಾರು” ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಯಿತು.
Speak, Thus saith the LORD, The carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather [them].
23 ೨೩ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೀಗೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೆ, ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ, ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳಪಡದಿರಲಿ.
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
24 ೨೪ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳಪಡುವವನು ತಾನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು, ನಾನು ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ನೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸುವ ಯೆಹೋವನಾಗಿರುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂಬುವುದಕ್ಕೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳಪಡಲಿ; ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ನೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳೇ ನನಗೆ ಆನಂದ” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth, and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
25 ೨೫ “ಆಹಾ, ಐಗುಪ್ತರು, ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು, ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯರು, ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರು, ಚಂಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಅರಣ್ಯದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು, ಅಂತು ಸುನ್ನತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾದರೂ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ದಂಡಿಸುವ ದಿನಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ.
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised in [their] uncircumcision;
26 ೨೬ ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಸಕಲ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರೂ ಸುನ್ನತಿಹೀನರು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ವಂಶದವರೂ ಹೃದಯ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರು” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that have the corners [of their hair] polled, that dwell in the wilderness: for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.
