ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 8
1 ೧ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೀಗೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸರು, ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು, ಯಾಜಕರು, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು, ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಗಳೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡುವರು.

4 ೪ ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಬಿದ್ದವರು ಏಳದಿರುವರೋ? ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದವನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

5 ೫ ಈ ಜನರು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗದಂತೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದದ್ದೇಕೆ? ಮೋಸವನ್ನೇ ಪಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

6 ೬ ನಾನು ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳುವಾಗ ಅವರು ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಯಾರು ತನ್ನ ಅಧರ್ಮದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ‘ಆಹಾ, ನಾನು ಎಂಥಾ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದೆ’ ಎಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ರಭಸವಾಗಿ ಓಡುವ ಕುದುರೆಯಂತೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ತ್ವರೆಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.

7 ೭ ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರುವ ಬಕವೂ ತನ್ನ ನಿಯಮಿತ ಕಾಲಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಬೆಳವಕ್ಕಿಯೂ, ಬಾನಕ್ಕಿಯೂ, ಕೊಕ್ಕರೆಯೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಮನಾಗಮನ ಸಮಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನರಾದರೋ ಯೆಹೋವನ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯರು.

10 ೧೦ ಅವರ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಎಷ್ಟರದು? ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಇವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನು ಅನ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಇವರ ಹೊಲಗದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸುವವರಿಗೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವೆನು. ಚಿಕ್ಕವರು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ದೊಡ್ಡವರ ತನಕ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಂದ ಯಾಜಕರವರೆಗೆ ಸಕಲರೂ ಮೋಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.

11 ೧೧ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಿಲ್ಲದ್ದಿದ್ದರೂ, ‘ಸಮಾಧಾನ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯೆಂಬಾಕೆಯ ಗಾಯವನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಮೇಲೆ ವಾಸಿಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

12 ೧೨ ಅಸಹ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದರೂ ಎಳ್ಳಷ್ಟೂ ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಲಜ್ಜೆಯ ಗಂಧವನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾನು ದಂಡಿಸುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವರು, ಬೀಳುವವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಿದ್ದೇ ಹೋಗುವರು ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.

13 ೧೩ ನಾನು ಇವರನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮೂಲ ಮಾಡಿಬಿಡುವೆನು. ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅಂಜೂರದ ಮರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಣ್ಣಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಎಲೆಯು ಬಾಡುವುದು; ನಾನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವವರನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸುವೆನು” ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.

14 ೧೪ ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು, “ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವುದೇಕೆ? ಕೂಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಕೋಟೆಕೊತ್ತಲಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ನಾಶವಾಗೋಣ. ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡಿ ಕಹಿಯಾದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನಷ್ಟೆ.

16 ೧೬ ವೈರಿಯ ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಬುಸುಗಾಟವು ದಾನನಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತದೆ; ತುರಂಗಗಳ (ಯುದ್ಧದ ಕುದುರೆ) ಕೆನೆತದ ಶಬ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಂಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ಬಂದರು, ಸೀಮೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ, ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನೂ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.

17 ೧೭ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾವುಗಳನ್ನು, ಮಂತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧೀನವಾಗದ ನಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವೆನು; ಅವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಚ್ಚುವವು” ಎಂದು ನುಡಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

19 ೧೯ ಆಹಾ, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯೆಂಬಾಕೆಯು, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಚೀಯೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ಅದರ ರಾಜನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವ ಶಬ್ದವು ದೂರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳ ಶೂನ್ಯರೂಪಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಏಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೆಣಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
