ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 10
Hear ye the word of the Lord, which he has spoken to you, O house of Israel.
2 ೨ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಹೆದರುವ ಆಕಾಶದ ಉತ್ಪಾತಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ.
Thus saith the Lord, Learn ye not the ways of the heathen, and be not alarmed at the signs of the sky; for they are alarmed at them, [falling] on their faces.
For the customs of the nations are vain; it is a tree cut out of the forest, the work of the carpenter, or a molten image.
[They are] beautified with silver and gold, they fix them with hammers and nails;
5 ೫ ಇಂಥಾ ಬೊಂಬೆಗಳು ಸೌತೆಕಾಯಿ ತೋಟದ ಬೆದರುಗಂಬದಂತಿವೆ, ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾರವು; ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕು, ನಡೆಯಲಾರವು. ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಕೇಡುಮಾಡಲಾರವು; ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಿಕ್ಕೂ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ
they will set them up that they may not move; it is wrought silver, they will not walk, it is forged silver They must certainly be borne, for they cannot ride [of themselves]. Fear them not; for they cannot do any evil, and there is no good in them.
7 ೭ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಅರಸನೇ, ಯಾರು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೆದರದೆ ಇದ್ದಾರು? ಇದು ನಿನಗೆ ತಕ್ಕದ್ದು; ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ರಾಜಪರಂಪರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಮಾನನು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲವಷ್ಟೆ.
9 ೯ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ತಗಡುಗಳು ತಾರ್ಷೀಷಿನಿಂದಲೂ, ಕೆತ್ತನೆಗಾರನ ಮತ್ತು ಎರಕದವನ ಕೈಕೆಲಸವಾದ ಚಿನ್ನವೂ ಊಫಜಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಗಿಬರುತ್ತವೆ. ನೀಲಧೂಮ್ರ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು ಅವುಗಳ ಉಡುಪಾಗಿವೆ, ಇವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕುಶಲಕರ್ಮಿಗಳ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ.
10 ೧೦ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದರೋ ಸತ್ಯದೇವರು; ಆತನು ಚೈತನ್ಯಸ್ವರೂಪನಾದ ದೇವನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಶ್ವತ ರಾಜನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನ ಕೋಪಕ್ಕೆ ಭೂಲೋಕವು ನಡುಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಆತನ ರೋಷವನ್ನು ತಾಳಲಾರವು.
11 ೧೧ ನೀವು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ, “ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸದಿರುವ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ, ಆಕಾಶದ ಕೆಳಗಿನಿಂದ, ಅಳಿದುಹೋಗುವವು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ.
Thus shall ye say to them, Let the gods which have not made heaven and earth perish from off the earth, and from under this sky.
12 ೧೨ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ವಿವೇಕದಿಂದ ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲವನ್ನು ಹರಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
It is the Lord that made the earth by his strength, who set up the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the sky,
13 ೧೩ ಆತನ ಗರ್ಜನೆಗೆ ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ಭೋರ್ಗರೆಯುವಂತೆ; ಆತನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಮೋಡಗಳನ್ನು ಏರಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಮಳೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಿಂಚನ್ನು ಹೊಳೆಯಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ತನ್ನ ಭಂಡಾರದಿಂದ ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
and set abundance of waters in the sky, and brought up clouds from the ends of the earth; he made lightnings for the rain, and brought forth light out of his treasures.
14 ೧೪ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಪಶುಪ್ರಾಯರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ತಾನು ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಅಕ್ಕಸಾಲಿಗನೂ ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವನು. ಅವನು ಎರಕ ಹೊಯ್ದ ಪುತ್ತಳಿಯು ಸುಳ್ಳು, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ವಾಸವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Every man is deprived of knowledge, every goldsmith is confounded because of his graven images; for he has cast false gods, there is no breath in them.
They are vain works, wrought in mockery; in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
16 ೧೬ ಯಾಕೋಬ್ಯರ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವಾದಾತನು ಅವುಗಳ ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ; ಆತನು ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದವನು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಆತನ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವಾದ ವಂಶ; ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೆಂಬುದು ಆತನ ನಾಮಧೇಯ.
Such is not the portion of Jacob; for he that formed all things, he is his inheritance; the Lord is his name.
He has gathered thy substance from without the lodged in choice [vessels].
18 ೧೮ “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಈ ಸಾರಿ ದೇಶನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆದೇ ಬಿಡುವೆನು, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಬರಲೆಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I [will] overthrow the inhabitants of this land with affliction, that thy plague may be discovered.
19 ೧೯ ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ನನ್ನ ಗಾಯ! ನನಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದ ಪೆಟ್ಟು ಭೀಕರ! ಆದರೂ ನಾನು, “ಇದು ನನಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯೇ ಸರಿ, ಸಹಿಸಬೇಕು” ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
Alas for thy ruin! thy plague is grievous: and I said, Surely this is thy wound, and it has overtaken thee.
20 ೨೦ ನನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರವು ಹಾಳಾಗಿದೆ, ಹಗ್ಗಗಳು ಹರಿದುಹೋಗಿವೆ, ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನನ್ನೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ನನ್ನ ಪರದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಗಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಇನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
Thy tabernacle is in a ruinous state, it has perished; and all thy curtains have been torn asunder: my children and my cattle are no more: there is no more any place for my tabernacle, [nor] place for my curtains.
21 ೨೧ ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಪಾಲಕರು ಪಶುಪ್ರಾಯರಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡದೆ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವರ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಸಾರ್ಥಕವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವರ ಹಿಂಡುಗಳು ಚದರಿಹೋದವು.
For the shepherds have become foolish, and have not sought the Lord; therefore the whole pasture has failed, and [the sheep] have been scattered.
22 ೨೨ ಇಗೋ, ಒಂದು ಸದ್ದು! ಆಹಾ, ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ! ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿ ನರಿಗಳ ಹಕ್ಕೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಮಹಾಕಂಪನವು ಸಂಭವಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
Behold, there comes a sound of a noise, and a great earthquake from the land of the north, to make the cities of Juda a desolation, and a resting-place for ostriches.
23 ೨೩ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಮಾನವನ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಅವನ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತು. ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಡೆದಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯನ್ನು ಇಡಲಾರನು.
I know, O Lord, that man's way is not his own; neither shall a man go, and direct his going.
Chasten us, O Lord, but with judgment; and not in wrath, lest thou make us few.
25 ೨೫ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದ ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸದ ವಂಶಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ರೌದ್ರವನ್ನು ಸುರಿದುಬಿಡು. ಅವರು ಯಾಕೋಬ್ಯರನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿ ಹೌದು, ಪೂರಾ ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅವರ ವಾಸಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರಲ್ಲಾ.
Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that have not known thee, and upon the families that have not called upon thy name: for they have devoured Jacob, and consumed him, and have made his pasture desolate.
