ಯೆಶಾಯನು 8
1 ೧ ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, “ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹಲಗೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಲೇಖನಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ವಿಷಯ ಸೂಚಕವಾದ ಈ ಪದವನ್ನು ಬರೆ, ‘ಮಹೇರ್ ಶಾಲಾಲ್ ಹಾಷ್ ಬಜ್’ ಅಂದರೆ ಸೂರೆಗೆ ಅತುರ, ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಗೆ ಅವಸರ.
And the LORD said unto me: 'Take thee a great tablet, and write upon it in common script: The spoil speedeth, the prey hasteth;
2 ೨ ನೀನು ಹೀಗೆ ಬರೆದದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಊರೀಯ, ಯೆಬೆರೆಕ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಜೆಕರ್ಯ ಈ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾದ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
and I will take unto Me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.'
3 ೩ ಅನಂತರ, “ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೊಡನೆ ಸಂಗಮಿಸಲು ಆಕೆಯು ಬಸುರಾಗಿ ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು. ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ‘ಮಹೇರ್ ಶಾಲಾಲ್ ಹಾಷ್ ಬಜ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bore a son. Then said the LORD unto me: 'Call his name Maher-shalal-hashbaz.
4 ೪ ಆ ಮಗುವು, ‘ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಅಮ್ಮಾ’ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಬಲ್ಲವನಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ದಮಸ್ಕದ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಸೂರೆಯನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
For before the child shall have knowledge to cry: My father, and: My mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be carried away before the king of Assyria.'
And the LORD spoke unto me yet again, saying:
6 ೬ “ಈ ಜನರು ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಹರಿಯುವ ಸಿಲೋವದ ನೀರನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿ, ರೆಚೀನನನ್ನೂ, ರೆಮಲ್ಯನ ಮಗನನ್ನೂ ನಂಬಿ ಮೆರೆದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ,
Forasmuch as this people hath refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoiceth with Rezin and Remaliah's son;
7 ೭ ಇಗೋ ಕರ್ತನು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರತಾಪದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನೆಂಬ ಮಹಾನದಿಯ ರಭಸವಾದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪ್ರವಾಹವನ್ನು ಇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡುವನು. ಅದು ತನ್ನ ಕಾಲುವೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಳಗೊಂಡು ದಡಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮೀರಿ,
Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the River, mighty and many, even the king of Assyria and all his glory; and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks;
8 ೮ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನುಗ್ಗಿ, ತುಂಬಿತುಳುಕಿ ಹಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಕತ್ತಿನವರೆಗೂ ಏರುವುದು. ಇಮ್ಮಾನುವೇಲನೇ, ಆ ಅರಸನ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳು ಹರಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಶವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆವರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.”
And he shall sweep through Judah overflowing as he passeth through he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.
9 ೯ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳೇ, ನೀವು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀವು ಒಡೆದು ತುಂಡಾಗುವಿರಿ; ದೂರದೇಶಿಯರೇ, ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ; ನಡುಕಟ್ಟಿರಿ, ಭಂಗಪಡುವಿರಿ; ಹೌದು ನಡುಕಟ್ಟಿರಿ, ಭಂಗಪಡುವಿರಿ.
Make an uproar, O ye peoples, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
10 ೧೦ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಅದು ಮುರಿದುಹೋಗುವುದು. ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ, ಅದು ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೂಡ ಇದ್ದಾನಷ್ಟೆ.
Take counsel together, and it shall be brought to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand; for God is with us.
11 ೧೧ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಕೈಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು, ಈ ಜನರ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಬಾರದೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೀಗೆಂದನು,
For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, admonishing me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying:
12 ೧೨ “ಇವರು ಯಾವುದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಂದವೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೋ ನೀವು ಅದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಂದವೆನ್ನಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಇವರು ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆದರುತ್ತಾರೋ ನೀವು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ, ನಡುಗಬೇಡಿರಿ.
'Say ye not: A conspiracy, concerning all whereof this people do say: A conspiracy; neither fear ye their fear, nor account it dreadful.
The LORD of hosts, Him shall ye sanctify; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread.
14 ೧೪ ಆತನು ಆಶ್ರಯವಾಗುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಎರಡು ಮನೆತನಕ್ಕೆ ಎಡವುವ ಕಲ್ಲೂ, ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವ ಬಂಡೆಯೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲೆಯೂ, ಪಂಜರವಾಗುವುದು.
And He shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.'
'Bind up the testimony, seal the instruction among My disciples.'
And I will wait for the LORD, that hideth His face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for Him.
18 ೧೮ ಆಹಾ, ನಾನೂ, ನನಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಚೀಯೋನ್ ಪರ್ವತದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾದ ಗುರುತುಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ, ಅದ್ಭುತಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me shall be for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwelleth in mount Zion.
19 ೧೯ “ಗುಣಗುಟ್ಟುವ, ಪಿಸುಮಾತನಾಡುವ, ಪ್ರೇತವಿಚಾರಕರನ್ನೂ, ಬೇತಾಳಿಕರನ್ನೂ ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಾರು, “ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರನ್ನೇ ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಬಾರದೋ? ಜೀವಿತರಿಗಾಗಿ ಸತ್ತವರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವುದು ಯುಕ್ತವೋ?
And when they shall say unto you: 'Seek unto the ghosts and the familiar spirits, that chirp and that mutter; should not a people seek unto their God? on behalf of the living unto the dead
20 ೨೦ ದೇವರ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನೂ, ದೇವರ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನೂ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವ” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಬೆಳಗಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
for instruction and for testimony?' — Surely they will speak according to this word, wherein there is no light. —
21 ೨೧ ಅವರು ಘೋರ ಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಹಸಿವೆಯಿಂದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆಯುವರು. ಅವರು ಹಸಿದಾಗ ಸಿಟ್ಟುಗೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ, ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಶಪಿಸಿ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ನೋಡುವರು.
And they shall pass this way that are sore bestead and hungry; and it shall come to pass that, when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse by their king and by their God, and, whether they turn their faces upward,
22 ೨೨ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ, ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದರೂ ಇಗೋ, ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟೆಂಬ ಕತ್ತಲೂ, ಸಂಕಟವೆಂಬ ಅಂಧಕಾರವೂ ಕವಿದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದು. ಕಾರ್ಗತ್ತಲೆಗೆ ತಳ್ಳಲ್ಪಡುವರು.
or look unto the earth, behold distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish, and outspread thick darkness.
