ಯೆಶಾಯನು 40
Comfort ye—comfort ye my people, —Saith your God.
2 ೨ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೃದಯಂಗಮವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿರಿ; ಅದರ ಗಡು ತೀರಿತು, ವಿಧಿಸಿದ ದೋಷಫಲವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೆರವೇರಿತು, ಅದರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಗೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಆ ನಗರಿಗೆ ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿರಿ; ಇದೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆ.
Speak ye unto the heart of Jerusalem, And cry unto her, —That accomplished is her warfare, That accepted is her punishment, —That she hath received, at the hand of Yahweh, According to the full measure of all her sins.
3 ೩ ಇಗೋ ಒಂದು ವಾಣಿ! “ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿರಿ, ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ರಾಜಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿರಿ”
A voice of one crying!—In the desert, prepare ye the way of Yahweh, —Make smooth in the waste plain a highway for our God:
4 ೪ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಳ್ಳಕೊಳ್ಳಗಳು ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಡುವವು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗುಡ್ಡಗಳು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವು, ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಬಯಲು ಸೀಮೆಯಾಗುವುದು. ಒರಟಾದ ನೆಲವು ಸಮವಾಗುವುದು.
Let, every valley, be exalted, And every mountain and hill, be made low, —And, the steep ground become, level, And, the chain of hills—a plain:
5 ೫ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು ಗೋಚರವಾಗುವುದು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವರು, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಬಾಯೇ ಇದನ್ನು ನುಡಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಒಬ್ಬನು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Then shall be revealed the glory of Yahweh, —And all flesh shall see it together, For, the mouth of Yahweh, hath spoken!
6 ೬ ಆಹಾ, ವಾಣಿಯು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೇಳಿಸಿ, “ಕೂಗು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತದೆ” ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು, “ಏನು ಕೂಗಲಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, “ನರಜಾತಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಾಗಿದೆ, ಅದರ ಲಾವಣ್ಯವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಡವಿಯ ಹೂವಿನಂತಿದೆ.
A voice saying Cry! And one said—What should I cry? All flesh, is grass, And, all the grace thereof, like the flower of the field:
7 ೭ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಶ್ವಾಸವು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಹುಲ್ಲು ಒಣಗಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು, ಹೂವು ಬಾಡಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು. ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಜನರು ಹುಲ್ಲೇ ಹುಲ್ಲು!
The grass hath withered The flower hath faded, Because, the breath of Yahweh, hath blown upon it! Surely the people is grass!
The grass, hath withered, The flower, hath faded, —But the word of our God, shall stand unto times age-abiding!
9 ೯ ಶುಭಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಬಲ್ಲ ಚೀಯೋನೇ, ನೀನು ಉನ್ನತಪರ್ವತವನ್ನು ಏರು; ಸುವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಬಲ್ಲ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತು, ನಿರ್ಭಯವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತಿ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು!
To a high mountain, get ye up, O herald—band of Zion, Lift high with strength your voice, O herald—band of Jerusalem, —Lift it high, do not fear, Say to the cities of Judah—Lo! your God!
10 ೧೦ ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಶೂರನಾಗಿ ಬರುವನು, ತನ್ನ ಭುಜಬಲದಿಂದಲೇ ಆಳುವನು. ಇಗೋ, ಆತನ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಲಾಭವು ಆತನೊಂದಿಗಿದೆ, ಆತನ ಶ್ರಮದ ಫಲವು ಆತನ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಇದೆ.
Lo! My Lord, Yahweh, as a mighty one, doth come, And, his own arm, is about to rule for him, —Lo! his reward, is with him, And, his recompense, before him;
11 ೧೧ ಆತನು ಕುರುಬನಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಮಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಮೇಯಿಸುವನು, ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಎದೆಗಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಹಾಲು ಕುಡಿಸುವ ಕುರಿಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಲ್ಲನೆ ನಡೆಸುವನು” ಎಂದು ಸಾರು.
Like a shepherd, his flock, will he tend, In his own arm, will he take up the lambs, And in his own bosom, will he carry [them], —Them which are with young, will he lead to a place of rest.
12 ೧೨ ಯಾರು ಸಾಗರ ಸಮುದ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಬರಿದಾದ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅಳತೆಮಾಡಿದವನು? ಯಾರು ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗೇಣಿನಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದವನು? ಭೂಲೋಕದ ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಳಗಕ್ಕೆ ತುಂಬಿದವನು ಯಾರು? ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ತ್ರಾಸಿನಿಂದಲೂ, ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕಡಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ತೂಗಿದವನು ಯಾರು?
Who hath measured, with the hollow of his hand, the waters. Or the heavens with a span, hath meted out, Or hath comprehended, in a measure, the dust of the earth, Or weighed, in scales, the mountains, Or the hills, in a balance?
Who hath proved the spirit of Yahweh? Or being his counsellor hath been giving him knowledge?
14 ೧೪ ಆತನು ಯಾರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು? ಯಾರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಕಲಿಸಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿಸಿದನು? ಯಾರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸಿ ವಿವೇಕ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದವನು?
With whom hath he taken counsel—And he hath given him intelligence, And instructed him in the path of justice, —And taught him knowledge, And in the way of intelligence, hath been giving him understanding?
15 ೧೫ ಆಹಾ, ಆತನ ಗಣನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಕಪಿಲೆಯಿಂದ ಉದುರುವ ತುಂತುರಿನಂತೆಯೂ, ತಕ್ಕಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಧೂಳಿನ ಹಾಗೂ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಇಗೋ, ದ್ವೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅಣುರೇಣುವಿನಂತೆ ಎತ್ತುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Lo! nations, Are us a drop on a bucket, And as fine dust on a balance, are accounted, —Lo! islands, like an atom, can he hoist;
And, Lebanon, is not sufficient to burn, —Nor, the beasts thereof sufficient for an ascending-sacrifice!
All nations, are as nothing before him, —A thing of nought or a waste, are they accounted unto him?
Unto whom then can ye liken GOD? Or, what likeness, can ye compare unto him?
19 ೧೯ ವಿಗ್ರಹವಾದರೋ, ಶಿಲ್ಪಿಯು ಅದನ್ನು ಎರಕಹೊಯ್ಯುವನು, ಅಕ್ಕಸಾಲಿಗನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಕವಚವನ್ನು ಹೊದಿಸಿ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಸರಪಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವನು.
The image, hath been cast by an artificer, And a goldsmith, with gold, overlayeth it, —And, chains of silver, he worketh.
20 ೨೦ (ಇಂಥದನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ) ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರದ ಬಡವನು, ಹುಳಿತು ಹೋಗದ ಮರವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಚಲಿಸದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಲು ಶಿಲ್ಪಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
The needy offerer, of a tree that will not rot, maketh choice, —A skilled artificer, seeketh he out for himself to construct an image that shall not totter,
21 ೨೧ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನೀವು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಆದಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶವಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಭೂಮಿಯು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾದ ದಿನದಿಂದ ನೀವು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
Have ye never taken note? Have ye never heard? Hath it not from the beginning, been told you? Have ye not been led to discern, from the foundations of the earth?
22 ೨೨ ಭೂಮಂಡಲ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಮಿಡತೆಗಳಂತೆ ಸಣ್ಣಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ಉನ್ನತವಾದ ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ಆಸೀನನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲವನ್ನು ನಾರುಬಟ್ಟೆಯಂತೆ ಹರಡಿ ನಿವಾಸದ ಗುಡಾರದಂತೆ ಎತ್ತಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
It is he who sitteth upon the circle of the earth, While the inhabitants thereof are, as grass-hoppers, —Who stretcheth forth, as a curtain, the heavens, And spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in;
Who delivereth dignitaries to nothingness, —Judges of earth, like a desolation, hath he made:
24 ೨೪ ಇವರು ನೆಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕೂಡಲೆ, ಬಿತ್ತಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕ್ಷಣವೇ, ಇವರ ಸಂತಾನವು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೂರಿದಾಗಲೇ, ಆತನ ಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ ಬಾಡುವರು, ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ಇವರನ್ನು ಒಣಹುಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆ ಬಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದು.
Scarcely have they been planted, Scarcely have they been sown, Scarcely hath their stock, begun to take root in the earth, When he hath just blown upon them and they have withered, And, a whirlwind, as though they had been chaff, carrieth them away.
Unto whom then, can ye liken me, or can I be equal? Saith the Holy One.
26 ೨೬ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಿರಿ! ಈ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದಾತನು ಯಾರು? ಈ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಹೆಸರೆತ್ತಿ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆತನು ಅತಿ ಬಲಾಢ್ಯನೂ, ಮಹಾಶಕ್ತನೂ ಆಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಒಂದೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗದು.
Lift on high your eyes—and see who hath created these, That bringeth forth, by number, their host, —To all of them by name, doth call, Because of the abundance of vigour and alertness of strength, not one, is missing!
27 ೨೭ ಯಾಕೋಬೇ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೇ, “ನನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ, ನನಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಬೇಕಾದ ನ್ಯಾಯವು ನನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಏಕೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀ?
Wherefore, shouldest thou say, O Jacob, or speak, O Israel, —Hidden is my path from Yahweh, And from my God, my vindication, will pass?
28 ೨೮ ನೀನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿರಂತರ ದೇವರೂ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನು ದಣಿದು ಬಳಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆತನ ವಿವೇಕವು ಪರಿಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಅಗಮ್ಯ.
Hast thou not known, Hast thou not heard, That The God of age-past time—Yahweh The Creator of the ends of the earth Fainteth not neither groweth weary—There is no searching of his understanding:
Giving to him that fainteth, strength, And to him that hath no vigour, he causeth, power to abound?
Youths both faint and grow weary, And, young warriors—they fall, they fall;
31 ೩೧ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವವರೋ ಹೊಸ ಬಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವರು; ಅವರು ಹದ್ದುಗಳಂತೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಏರುವರು; ಅವರು ಓಡಿ ದಣಿಯರು, ನಡೆದು ಬಳಲರು.
But, they who wait for Yahweh, shall renew their strength, They shall mount on strong pinion like eagles, —They shall run and not grow weary, They shall walk and not faint.
