ಆದಿಕಾಂಡ 18
1 ೧ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಬಿಸಿಲೇರಿದಾಗ ಮಮ್ರೆಯ ಮೋರೆ ತೋಪಿನ ತನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರದ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವಾಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾದನು.
And God appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the entrance to the tent in the heat of the day.
2 ೨ ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಲು ಅವನೆದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂವರು ಪುರುಷರು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಗುಡಾರದ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗಿ ತಲೆಬಾಗಿ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ.
He lifted up his eyes and looked, and saw that three men stood opposite him. When he saw them, he ran to meet them from the entrance of the tent, and bowed himself to the earth,
3 ೩ “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರೆತಿದ್ದರೆ; ದಾಸನ ಗುಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ದಯಮಾಡದೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನೀವು ದಾಸನಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀರಲ್ಲಾ.
and said, "My lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, please do not go on past your servant.
Now let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.
5 ೫ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಆಹಾರ ತರುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಊಟವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀವು ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಅವರು, “ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು” ಅಂದರು.
I will get a bit of food so you may refresh yourselves. After that you may go your way, now that you have come to your servant." They said, "Very well, do as you have said."
6 ೬ ಆಗ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಾರಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಹಸನಾದ ಮೂರು ಸೇರು ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ನಾದಿ ಬೇಗ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah, and said, "Quickly, get three measures of fine flour, knead it, and make bread."
Abraham ran to the herd, and took a tender and good calf, and gave it to the servant, and he hurried to prepare it.
8 ೮ ಆಳು ಬೇಗನೆ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಕರುವನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು, ಅಡಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ತರುವಾಯ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಹಾಲು ಮೊಸರನ್ನೂ ಅಡಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಬಡಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಊಟ ಮಾಡುವವರೆಗೂ ಅವನು ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉಪಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
He took curds, milk, and the calf that he had prepared, and set it before them. He stood by them under the tree, and they ate.
9 ೯ ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾದ ಸಾರಳು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಳೆ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವನು “ಅಗೋ, ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಳೆ” ಎಂದನು.
They said to him, "Where is Sarah, your wife? He said, "See, in the tent."
10 ೧೦ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನು, “ಬರುವ ವರ್ಷ ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ನಾನು ತಪ್ಪದೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಬಂದಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾದ ಸಾರಳಿಗೆ ಮಗನಿರುವನು” ಎಂದನು. ಆ ಮಾತು ಹಿಂದೆ ಗುಡಾರದ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಸಾರಳ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬಿತ್ತು.
Then he said, "I will certainly return to you at the time of life. Look, Sarah your wife will have a son." Sarah heard from the entrance of the tent, which was behind him.
Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age. Sarah was past the age of childbearing.
Sarah laughed within herself, saying, "After I have grown old will I have pleasure, my husband being old also?"
And God said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, 'Will I really bear a child when I am old?'
14 ೧೪ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದದ್ದುಂಟೋ? ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಬರುವ ವರ್ಷದ ಇದೇ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಸಾರಳಿಗೆ ಮಗನಿರುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Is anything too difficult for God? At the set time I will return to you, at the time of life, and Sarah will have a son."
15 ೧೫ ಆಗ ಸಾರಳು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು, “ನಾನು ನಗಲಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡಿದಾಗ, ಆತನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ನೀನು ನಕ್ಕಿದ್ದುಂಟು” ಎಂದನು.
But Sarah denied it, saying, "I did not laugh," for she was afraid. He said, "No, but you did laugh."
16 ೧೬ ತರುವಾಯ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿದರು. ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡಲು ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಹೋದನು.
The men rose up from there, and looked toward Sodom. Abraham went with them to see them on their way.
And God said, "Will I hide from Abraham what I am about to do,
18 ೧೮ ಅವನಿಂದ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠವಾದ ಮಹಾ ಜನಾಂಗವು ಹುಟ್ಟಬೇಕಲ್ಲಾ; ಅವನ ಮೂಲಕ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದಲ್ಲಾ;
seeing that Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him?
19 ೧೯ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯ ನೀತಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೋಧಿಸುವಂತೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ನಾನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆನಲ್ಲಾ; ಅವನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ವಾಗ್ದಾನವು ನೆರವೇರುವುದು” ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
For I have made myself known to him, so that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of God, to do righteousness and justice, so that God may bring to Abraham that which he has spoken to him."
20 ೨೦ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಸೊದೋಮ್ ಗೊಮೋರಗಳ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮೊರೆ ನನಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿತು; ಆ ಊರಿನವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಿಸಿರುವ ಪಾಪವು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಘೋರವಾದದ್ದು,
And God said, "Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is so grievous,
21 ೨೧ ನಾನು ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ, ನನಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮೊರೆಯಂತೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಮಾಡಿರುವರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ನೋಡಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
I will go down now, and see whether they have done entirely according to the outcry which has come to me. And if not, I will know."
22 ೨೨ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೋದರು; ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
The men turned from there, and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before God.
Abraham drew near, and said, "Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?
24 ೨೪ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರಿದ್ದಾರು; ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರಿದ್ದರೂ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸದೆ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವಿಯಾ?
What if there are fifty righteous within the city? Will you sweep it away and not spare the place for the fifty righteous who are in it?
25 ೨೫ ಆ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೂ ಶಿಷ್ಟರಿಗೂ ಭೇದ ಮಾಡದೆ ದುಷ್ಟರ ಸಂಗಡ ನೀತಿವಂತರನ್ನೂ ಸಂಹರಿಸುವುದು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಆಗಬಾರದು; ಸರ್ವಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವವನು ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನೇ ನಡಿಸುವನಲ್ಲವೇ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು.
Be it far from you to do things like that, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be like the wicked. May that be far from you. Shouldn't the Judge of all the earth do right?"
26 ೨೬ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಸೊದೋಮನಲ್ಲಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ನನಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಉಳಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದನು.
And God said, "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sake."
Abraham answered, "Look, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes.
28 ೨೮ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವಿಯಾ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಲ್ವತ್ತೈದು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು.
What if there will lack five of the fifty righteous? Will you destroy all the city for lack of five?" He said, "I will not destroy it, if I find forty-five there."
29 ೨೯ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾರು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಆತನು, “ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದನು.
He spoke to him yet again, and said, "What if there are forty found there?" He said, "I will not do it for the forty's sake."
30 ೩೦ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಕೋಪಮಾಡಬಾರದು; ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾರು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಆತನು, “ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು.
He said, "Oh do not let the Lord be angry, and I will speak. What if there are thirty found there?" He said, "I will not do it, if I find thirty there."
31 ೩೧ ಅವನು, “ಇಗೋ, ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಧೈರ್ಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾರು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಆತನು, “ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವೆನು, ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು.
He said, "Look, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord. What if there are twenty found there?" He said, "I will not destroy it for the twenty's sake."
32 ೩೨ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಸಿಟ್ಟಾಗಬಾರದು; ಇನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ಸಾರಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾರು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಆತನು, “ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವೆನು, ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.” ಎಂದನು.
He said, "Oh do not let the Lord be angry, and I will speak just once more. What if ten are found there?" He said, "I will not destroy it for the ten's sake."
33 ೩೩ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು; ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
When he finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned to his place.
