ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕಾಂಡ 1
1 ೧ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆ, ಪಾರಾನ್, ತೋಫೆಲ್, ಲಾಬಾನ್, ಹಚೇರೋತ್ ಮತ್ತು ದೀಜಾಹಾಬ್ ಎಂಬ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ನಡುವೆ, ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಾಬಾ ಎಂಬ ತಗ್ಗಾದ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಫಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಉಪದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಗಳು.
These are the words which Moses spoke unto all Israel on this side of the Jordan, in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Suph, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Chazeroth, and Di-zahab.
It is a journey of eleven days from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadesh-barnea'.
3 ೩ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟ ನಲ್ವತ್ತನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದ, ಹನ್ನೊಂದನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke unto the children of Israel, according to all that the Lord had commanded him concerning them;
4 ೪ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೆಷ್ಬೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೀಹೋನನನ್ನೂ, ಅಷ್ಟಾರೋತ್, ಎದ್ರೈ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬಾಷಾನಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಓಗನನ್ನೂ ಜಯಿಸಿದ ತರುವಾಯವೇ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
After he had smitten Sichon the king of the Emorites, who dwelt in Cheshbon, and 'Og the king of Bashan, who dwelt at 'Ashtaroth in Edre'i.
5 ೫ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಈ ಮುಂದಣ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು:
On this side of the Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to explain this law, saying,
The Lord our God spoke unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have tarried long enough at this mount;
7 ೭ ಈಗ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಅಮೋರಿಯರು ಇರುವ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿರಿ. ಅವು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ: ತಗ್ಗಾದ ಪ್ರದೇಶ, ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶ, ಇಳಕಲಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣಸೀಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದ್ರತೀರ ಎಂಬ ನಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರ ದೇಶ, ಲೆಬನೋನ್ ಪರ್ವತ ಮತ್ತು ಯೂಫ್ರೆಟಿಸ್ ಎಂಬ ಮಹಾನದಿಯ ವರೆಗೆ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ.
Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mountain of the Emorites, and unto all its neighboring places, in the plain, in the mountain, and in the lowlands, and in the southern country, and by the coast of the sea, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto the Lebanon, up to the great river, the river Euphrates.
8 ೮ ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೇ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಯೆಹೋವನೆಂಬ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮ್, ಇಸಾಕ್, ಯಾಕೋಬರಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಿಗೂ ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದೆನಲ್ಲಾ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಮಾಡಿ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ’” ಎಂದು ಅಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
Behold, I have given up the land before you: go in and take possession of the land which the Lord hath sworn unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give it unto them and to their seed after them.
And I said unto you at that time, as followeth, I am not able alone to bear you:
10 ೧೦ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಈಗ ಆಕಾಶದ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳಷ್ಟು ಅಸಂಖ್ಯರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
The Lord your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.
11 ೧೧ ನೀವು ಈಗ ಇರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಇನ್ನು ಸಾವಿರದಷ್ಟಾಗುವಂತೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿ, ತಾನು ವಾಗ್ದಾನಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಶುಭಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿ.
May the Lord the God of your fathers make you a thousand times as many more as ye are; and bless you, as he hath spoken unto you.
How can I by myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife!
13 ೧೩ ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಕುಲದಿಂದ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಿವೇಕಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾದ ಪುರುಷರನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು.
Furnish for yourselves wise and understanding men, and those known among your tribes, and I will place them as chiefs over you.
And ye answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken is good to do.
15 ೧೫ ಆಗ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾದ, ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಒಂದೊಂದು ಕುಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬರಂತೆ, ನೂರು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬರಂತೆ, ಐವತ್ತು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬರಂತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹತ್ತು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬರಂತೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ನೇಮಿಸಿದೆನು.
And I took the chiefs of your tribes, wise and known men, and I set them as heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and as officers for your tribes.
16 ೧೬ ಆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಮಾಡಿ, “ನೀವು ಸ್ವಕುಲದವರ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಡನೆ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡಿದರೂ, ಅನ್ಯರೊಡನೆ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡಿದರೂ ನೀವು ನ್ಯಾಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
And I commanded your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously, between a man and his brother, and between his stranger.
17 ೧೭ ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಮುಖದಾಕ್ಷಿಣ್ಯಮಾಡದೆ, ಪ್ರಮುಖರನ್ನೂ ಹಾಗು ಅಲ್ಪರನ್ನೂ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಬೇಕು. ನೀವು ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವವರಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನೀವು ತೀರಿಸಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗದ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತರಬೇಕು; ನಾನೇ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು.
Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; the small as well as the great shall ye hear; ye shall not be afraid of any man; for the judgment belongeth to God: and the cause that is too hard for you shall ye bring unto me, and I will hear it.
And I commanded you at that time all the things which ye should do.
19 ೧೯ ನಾವು ಹೋರೇಬಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ನೀವು ನೋಡಿದ ಆ ಘೋರವಾದ ಮಹಾ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ಕಾದೇಶ್‌ಬರ್ನೇಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದೆವು.
And we departed from Horeb, and we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye have seen, by the way of the mountain of the Emorites, as the Lord our God had commanded us; and we came as far as Kadesh-barnea'.
And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Emorites, which the Lord our God doth give unto us.
21 ೨೧ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೇ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ನೀವು ಭಯಪಡದೆ ಧೈರ್ಯವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇರಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು.
Behold, the Lord thy God hath given up the land before thee: go up and take possession of it, as the Lord the God of thy fathers hath spoken unto thee; do not fear, and be not discouraged.
22 ೨೨ ಆಗ ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ನಮಗಿಂತ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆವು. ಅವರು ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿ, ನಾವು ಹತ್ತಿ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದ ದಾರಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇರಬೇಕಾದ ಊರುಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲೂ ನಮಗೆ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಿರಿ.
And ye all came near unto me and said, Let us send out men before us, that they may search out for us the land, and bring us word again concerning the way by which we must go up, and the cities to which we shall come.
23 ೨೩ ಅದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯೆಂದು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಲಕ್ಕೆ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನಂತೆ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಜನರನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆನು.
And the thing was pleasing in my eyes; and I took of you twelve men, one man for every tribe:
24 ೨೪ ಅವರು ಹೋಗಿ ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ, ಎಷ್ಕೋಲ್ ಎಂಬ ತಗ್ಗಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಆ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿದರು.
And they turned and went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.
25 ೨೫ ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವನ್ನು ತಂದು ತೋರಿಸಿ, “ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಆ ದೇಶವು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ದೇಶ” ಎಂದು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
And they took in their hand some of the fruit of the land, and brought it down unto us; and they brought us word again, and said, The land which the Lord our God doth give us is good.
But you would not go up, and ye rebelled against the order of the Lord your God;
27 ೨೭ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಡೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಣುಗುಟ್ಟುತ್ತಾ, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಹಗೆತನದಿಂದಲೇ; ಆತನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
And ye murmured in your tents, and said, On account of the hatred of the Lord toward us, hath he brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Emorites, to destroy us.
28 ೨೮ ನಾವು ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದ ಆ ಸೀಮೆ ಎಂಥದೆಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿರಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರು ನಮಗೆ, ‘ಆ ದೇಶದ ಜನರು ನಮಗಿಂತ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರಾಗಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಎತ್ತರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರಿರುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಕೋಟೆಕೊತ್ತಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಇವೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಪುರುಷರನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಅನಾಕೀಮ್ ವಂಶಸ್ಥರ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಧೈರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿರಿ.
Whither shall we go up? our brethren have made faint our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; and moreover the sons of the 'Anakim have we seen there.
And I said unto you, Have no dread, nor be ye afraid of them.
30 ೩೦ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕನಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ನೀವು ನೋಡಿದ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಈಗಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮವನಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವನು.
The Lord your God who goeth before you, he it is who will fight for you; all just as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
31 ೩೧ ನೀವು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರುವ ತನಕ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಬ್ಬ ತಂದೆ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾನೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತನಲ್ಲವೇ?” ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು.
And in the wilderness which thou hast seen, where the Lord thy God bore thee, as a man doth bear his son, on all the way that ye have gone, until ye came unto this place.
Yet in this thing do ye not believe in the Lord your God,
33 ೩೩ ನೀವು ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ದಂಡು ಇಳಿಯಬೇಕಾದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೋಪಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಹಗಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಘದೋಪಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದ ದೇವರನ್ನು ನೀವು ನಂಬಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Who goeth before you on the way to seek out for you a place for your encamping, in fire by night, to cause you to see on the way in which ye are to go, and in a cloud by day.
And the Lord heard the voice of your words; and he was wroth, and swore, saying,
35 ೩೫ ಆತನು, “ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನಮಾಡಿದ ಆ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಈ ದುಷ್ಟ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ನೋಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದನು.
Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I have sworn to give unto your fathers;
36 ೩೬ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೋವನು “ಯೆಫುನ್ನೆಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಕಾಲೇಬನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಮನಃಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವನೇ ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವನು. ಅವನು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಿಗೂ ಕೊಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Save Caleb the son of Yephunneh, he shall see it, and to him will I give the land upon which he hath trodden, and to his children; because he hath wholly followed the Lord.
also with me was the Lord angry for your sakes, saying, also thou shalt not go in thither.
38 ೩೮ ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು, ನೂನನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವನು. ಅವನೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸುವನು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಧೈರ್ಯಗೊಳಿಸು.
Joshua the son of Nun, who standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: him encourage; for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
39 ೩೯ ಆದರೆ ಪರರ ಪಾಲಾಗುವರೆಂದು ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಹಾಗು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವರು. ಅವರಿಗೇ ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆನು; ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.
And your little ones, of whom ye said, They will become a prey, and your children who know not this day either good or evil, these shall go in thither; and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea.
41 ೪೧ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು, “ನಾವು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳಾದೆವು. ಆದರೂ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನಾವೇ ಈಗ ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವೆವು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟಿರಿ. ಮತ್ತು ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಜಯಿಸುವುದು ಅಲ್ಪಕಾರ್ಯವೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ ಹೊರಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಿರಿ.
And ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the Lord; we indeed will go up and we will fight, according to all that the Lord our God hath commanded us; and ye girded on every man his weapons of war, and ye insisted to go up into the mountain.
42 ೪೨ ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಇವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವಾದುದರಿಂದ ಇವರು ಸೋತುಹೋಗುವರು. ಇವರು ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲೂ ಬಾರದು, ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಲೂ ಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಇವರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And the Lord said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, and do not fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.
43 ೪೩ ನಾನು ಆ ಮಾತನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರೂ, ನೀವು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಸಾರಮಾಡಿ ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದಿರಿ.
And I spoke unto you; but ye would not hear; and ye rebelled against the order of the Lord, and you were presumptuous, and went up into the mountain.
44 ೪೪ ಆಗ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಮೋರಿಯರು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಜೇನುಹುಳಗಳಂತೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿ ಸೇಯೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರ್ಮದ ವರೆಗೂ ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದರು.
And the Emorites, who dwelt in that mountain: came out against you, and they pursued you, as the bees do, and they overthrew you in Seir, as far as Chormah.
45 ೪೫ ನೀವು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಗೋಳಾಡಿದಾಗ ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
And ye returned and wept before the Lord; but the Lord hearkened not to your voice, nor gave ear unto you.
And ye tarried in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye tarried there.
