ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕಾಂಡ 18
1 ೧ ಯಾಜಕಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಲೇವಿಯ ಕುಲದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೇ ಆಗಲಿ ಇತರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಡನೆ ಸ್ವಂತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪಾಲಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವಾಗಲಿ ದೊರೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಹೋಮದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳೂ ಆತನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಜೀವನಾಧಾರ.
The priests the Levites, [and] all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.
2 ೨ ಸ್ವದೇಶಸ್ಥರೊಂದಿಗೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ವತ್ತು ದೊರೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ತಾನೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ವತ್ತಾಗಿರುವನು.
Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD [is] their inheritance, as he hath said to them.
3 ೩ ಜನರ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಯಾಜಕರು ಹೊಂದಬೇಕಾದವುಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ: ದನಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಲಿ, ಆಡು ಮತ್ತು ಕುರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಪಶುವನ್ನು ಕೊಯಿದು ಯಜ್ಞಮಾಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅದರ ಮುಂದೊಡೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಎರಡು ದವಡೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕೋಷ್ಠವನ್ನೂ (ಒಳಭಾಗವನ್ನು) ಯಾಜಕರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.
And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether ox or sheep; and they shall give to the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.
4 ೪ ಧಾನ್ಯ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ ಮತ್ತು ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಇವುಗಳ ಪ್ರಥಮಫಲಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಕತ್ತರಿಸುವ ಕುರಿಗಳ ಉಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.
The first-fruit [also] of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thy oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.
5 ೫ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕುಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಇವರ ತರುವಾಯ ಇವರ ಸಂತತಿಯವರನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಾನೇ ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನಲ್ಲಾ.
For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.
6 ೬ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಒಂದು ಊರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಲೇವಿಯನು ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಆ ಊರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು,
And if a Levite shall come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and come with all the desire of his mind to the place which the LORD shall choose;
7 ೭ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡುವ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಕುಲದವರಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ತಾನೂ ಸೇವೆ ನಡಿಸಿದರೆ,
Then he shall minister in the name of the LORD his God, as all his brethren the Levites [do], who stand there before the LORD.
8 ೮ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿತ್ರಾರ್ಜಿತ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಮಾರಿದ ಹಣವಿದ್ದರೂ, ಇತರ ಲೇವಿಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮವಾಗಿ ಭೋಗಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗಿರುವನು.
They shall have like portions to eat, beside that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.
9 ೯ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಸೇರಿದಾಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜನಗಳು ಮಾಡುವ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಅನುಸರಿಸಲೇಬಾರದು.
When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 ೧೧ ಮಾಟಗಾರರು, ತಂತ್ರಗಾರರು, ಸತ್ತವರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವವರು, ಬೇತಾಳ, ಪ್ರೇತ, ಭೂತ ಎಂದು ಪೂಜಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬಾರದು.
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 ೧೨ ಇಂಥ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಸಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂಥ ಹೇಯಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಹೊರ ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
For all that do these things [are] an abomination to the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
14 ೧೪ ನೀವು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ದೇಶದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಶಕುನಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯಂತ್ರ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನೀವಾದರೋ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಂದ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಹೊಂದಲಿಲ್ಲ.
For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened to observers of times, and to diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so [to do].
15 ೧೫ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನಂಥ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸುವನು; ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಬೇಕು.
The LORD thy God will raise up to thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like to me; to him ye shall hearken.
16 ೧೬ ಹೋರೇಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಭೆಕೂಡಿದ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು, “ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಈ ಘೋರವಾದ ಅಗ್ನಿಜ್ವಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು ನೋಡವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲ, ಹಾಗೇನಾದರು ಕೇಳಿ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಗುವೆವು” ಎಂದು ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದಿರಷ್ಟೆ.
According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I may not die.
And the LORD said to me, They have well [spoken of that] which they have spoken.
18 ೧೮ ಇವರ ಸ್ವದೇಶದವರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನಂಥ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸುವೆನು; ಅವನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನುಡಿಸುವೆನು; ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವನು.
I will raise up to them a prophet from among their brethren, like thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.
And it shall come to pass, [that] whoever will not hearken to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require [it] of him.
20 ೨೦ ಆದರೆ ಯಾವ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಹೊಂದದೆ, ನಾನು ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಮಾಡದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವನೋ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಇತರ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವನೋ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
But the prophet, who shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
And if thou shalt say in thy heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22 ೨೨ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ‘ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಆತನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಸಂಗತಿಯೂ ನಡೆಯದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಅವನ ಮಾತು ಯೆಹೋವನದಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದವನು ಮತ್ತು ನೀವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಬಾರದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing doth not follow, nor come to pass, that [is] the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, [but] the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
