ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು 6
1 ೧ ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನು ತನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯಭಾರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನೂರಿಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನು ಆಯಾ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಆಯಾ ಭಾಗಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳಲು ನೇಮಿಸಿದನು.
It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom a hundred and twenty satraps, which should be over the whole kingdom,
2 ೨ ರಾಜರಿಗೆ ನಷ್ಟವಾಗದಂತೆ ಆ ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರಿಂದ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂವರು ಮುಖ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು; ಆ ಮುಖ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ಒಬ್ಬನು.
and over them three presidents, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give accounts to them, and the king might have no damage.
3 ೩ ಈ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಮಬುದ್ಧಿ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಉಳಿದ ಮುಖ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಸಮರ್ಥನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನನ್ನು ರಾಜನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕನನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
Then this Daniel was eminent above the presidents and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
4 ೪ ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಮುಖ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೂ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಅಸೂಯೆಯಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯಭಾರದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪುಹೊರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ತಪ್ಪುಹೊರಿಸುವ ಯಾವ ಸಂದರ್ಭವನ್ನೂ, ಯಾವ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣಲಾರದೆ ಹೋದರು. ಅವನು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು, ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಲಸ್ಯವಾಗಲಿ, ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Then the presidents and satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel in relation to the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault; because he was faithful, and no error nor fault was found in him.
5 ೫ ಆಗ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು, “ಈ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪುಹೊರಿಸಲು ಇವನ ದೇವಧರ್ಮದ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಹೊರತು ಇನ್ಯಾವುದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಮಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರೆಯದು” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
6 ೬ ಹೀಗೆ ಆ ಮುಖ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೂ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ರಾಜನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರೆದುಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನೇ, ಚಿರಂಜೀವಿಯಾಗಿರು!
Then these presidents and satraps rushed together to the king, and spake thus to him: King Darius, live forever!
7 ೭ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮೂವತ್ತು ದಿನಗಳ ತನಕ ರಾಜನಾದ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ದೇವರಿಗಾಗಲಿ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗಾಗಲಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಖಂಡಿತ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಜಾಜ್ಞೆಯ ರೂಪವಾಗಿ ವಿಧಿಸುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸಕಲ ಮುಖ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿ, ನಾಯಕ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿ, ಮಂತ್ರಿ, ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರೂ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors and the satraps, the counsellors and the prefects, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
8 ೮ ರಾಜನೇ, ಈಗ ನೀನು ಈ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿ, ಇದು ಮೇದ್ಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾರಸಿಯರ ಧರ್ಮವಿಧಿಗಳಂತೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ರದ್ದಾಗದ ಧರ್ಮವಿಧಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಬೇರೆಯಾಗದಂತೆ ಶಾಸನಕ್ಕೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಕ್ಷರ ಮಾಡು” ಎಂದು ಬಿನ್ನವಿಸಿದರು.
Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians which altereth not.
Wherefore King Darius signed the writing and the decree.
10 ೧೦ ಶಾಸನಕ್ಕೆ ರುಜುವಾದದ್ದು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕದವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳುಳ್ಳ ತನ್ನ ಮಹಡಿಯ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಡಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂರಾವರ್ತಿ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡಿ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house, his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he kneeled upon his knees, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done before.
11 ೧೧ ಆಗ ಆ ಜನರು ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.
Then these men rushed together, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
12 ೧೨ ಅವರು ರಾಜನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ರಾಜಾಜ್ಞೆಯ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪವನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ, “ರಾಜನೇ, ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಮೂವತ್ತು ದಿನಗಳ ತನಕ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ದೇವರಿಗಾಗಲಿ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಗೆ ರುಜು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, ರಾಜನು, “ಹೌದು, ಮೇದ್ಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾರಸಿಯರ ರದ್ದಾಗದ ಧರ್ಮವಿಧಿಗಳಂತೆ ಇದು ಸ್ಥಿರವಾದ ನಿಬಂಧನೆ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
Then they came near and spake before the king concerning the royal decree: Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man who shall ask a petition of any god or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
13 ೧೩ ಆಗ ಅವರು ರಾಜನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, “ರಾಜನೇ, ಯೆಹೂದದಿಂದ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ತಂದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಆ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಹಸ್ತಾಕ್ಷರದ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಾರದೆ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂರಾವರ್ತಿ ಅವನ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಅರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
Then answered they and said before the king, Daniel, who is of the sons of the captives of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree which thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
14 ೧೪ ಆದರೆ ರಾಜನು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಬಹಳ ವ್ಯಸನಗೊಂಡು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಇದರಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮನಸ್ಸುಮಾಡಿ ಇವನನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಸೂರ್ಯಾಸ್ತಮಾನದ ತನಕ ಆಲೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
Then the king, when he heard these words, was much troubled, and set his heart to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
15 ೧೫ ಇದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ಆ ಜನರು ರಾಜನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದು, “ಪ್ರಭುವೇ, ರಾಜನು ವಿಧಿಸಿದ ಯಾವ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ನಿಯಮವಾಗಲಿ ರದ್ದಾಗಬಾರದು ಎಂಬ ಧರ್ಮಸೂತ್ರವು ಮೇದ್ಯಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಪಾರಸಿಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಉಂಟೆಂಬುದು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ರಾಜನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡಲೇ ಬೇಕಾಯಿತು.
Then these men assembled before the king, and said to the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree or statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
16 ೧೬ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ತಂದು ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಂತೆ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಆಗ ರಾಜನು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಆರಾಧಿಸುವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನುದ್ಧರಿಸಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹರಸಿದನು.
Then the king commanded that they should bring Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. And the king spake and said to Daniel, May thy God, whom thou servest continually, deliver thee!
17 ೧೭ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಬಂಡೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದು ಗವಿಯ ಬಾಯನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದರು. ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ಈ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಯಾರು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸದಂತೆ ರಾಜನ ಮುದ್ರೆಯಿಂದಲೂ, ತನ್ನ ಮುಖಂಡರ ಮುದ್ರೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುದ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ಭದ್ರ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.
And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords, that nothing concerning Daniel might be changed.
18 ೧೮ ರಾಜನು ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿನೋದವಾದ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ತರಿಸದೆ, ಉಪವಾಸವಾಗಿ ರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದನು; ಅವನಿಗೆ ನಿದ್ರೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting, and suffered not the concubines to be brought to him; and his sleep went from him.
Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste to the den of lions.
20 ೨೦ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಿದ್ದ ಗವಿಯ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು, ಅವನು ದುಃಖ ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಕೂಗಿ, “ದಾನಿಯೇಲನೇ, ಜೀವ ಸ್ವರೂಪನಾದ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕನೇ, ನೀನು ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಭಜಿಸುವ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಿಂಹಗಳಿಂದ ಉದ್ಧರಿಸಲು ಶಕ್ತನಾದನೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
And when he came to the den, he cried with a troubled voice to Daniel; and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, has thy God, whom thou servest continually, been able to deliver thee from the lions?
Then said Daniel to the king, O king, live forever!
22 ೨೨ ನನ್ನ ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದನು. ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಯಾವ ಹಾನಿಯೂ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ನಾನು ನಿರ್ಮಲನಾಗಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದೆನು. ರಾಜನಾದ ನಿನಗೂ ಯಾವ ದ್ರೋಹವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, so that they have not hurt me; forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no wrong.
23 ೨೩ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ರಾಜನು ಬಹಳ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟು, ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಗವಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಮಾಡಲು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿದರು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಟ್ಟ ಕಾರಣ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಹಾನಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Then was the king exceedingly glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he trusted in his God.
24 ೨೪ ಅನಂತರ ರಾಜನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಲು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂರು ಹೊರಿಸಿದವರನ್ನು ತಂದು ಅವರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರು ಗವಿಯ ತಳವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟುವುದರೊಳಗೆ ಸಿಂಹಗಳು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾರಿ, ಅವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಚೂರುಚೂರು ಮಾಡಿದವು.
And the king commanded, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and broke all their bones before they came to the bottom of the den.
25 ೨೫ ಆಗ ರಾಜನಾದ ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನು ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಸಕಲ ಜನಾಂಗ, ಕುಲ, ಭಾಷೆಗಳವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಬರೆಯಿಸಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ನಡೆಯಲು ಆಜ್ಞೆಮಾಡಿದನು. ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ದೇವರ ದಯೆಯಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸುಖವು ಹೆಚ್ಚೆಚ್ಚಾಗಲಿ!
Then King Darius wrote to all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you!
26 ೨೬ “ನಾನು ಆಳುವ ರಾಜ್ಯದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಆತನೇ ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪನಾದ ಸನಾತನ ದೇವರು, ಆತನ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಳಿಯದು, ಆತನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿರುವುದು;
I make a decree, that in every government of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel; for he is the living God that endureth forever, and whose kingdom shall not be destroyed, and whose dominion shall endure to the end.
27 ೨೭ ಆತನು ಉದ್ಧರಿಸುವವನೂ, ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನೂ, ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ಭುತಮಹತ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆತನೇ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.”
It is he that delivereth and rescueth, and worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
28 ೨೮ ಈ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಪಾರಸಿಯನಾದ ಕೋರೆಷನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸನ್ಮಾನ, ಗೌರವಗಳಿಂದ ಬಾಳಿದನು.
This Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
