ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳ 9
1 ೧ ಸೌಲನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪವುಳ್ಳನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಬೆದರಿಕೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ;
Meanwhile Saul, still exhaling murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
2 ೨ ಈ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದವರು ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವರು ಗಂಡಸರಾದರೂ ಸರಿಯೇ, ಹೆಂಗಸರಾದರೂ ಸರಿಯೇ ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಡಿಹಾಕಿಸಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ತರುವಂತೆ, ದಮಸ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದವರಿಗೆ ನೀನು, ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he should find any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
So it happened, as he was going, that he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him;
4 ೪ ಅವನು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ, “ಸೌಲನೇ, ಸೌಲನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ಹಿಂಸೆಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೀ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ವಾಣಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
and falling to the ground he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”
So he said, “Who are you, Lord?” So the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting;
but get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7 ೭ ಅವನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರು ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಕೇಳಿ, ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣದೆ ಮೂಕರಂತೆ ವಿಸ್ಮಿತರಾಗಿ ನಿಂತರು.
The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the sound but seeing no one.
8 ೮ ಸೌಲನು ನೆಲದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಕಣ್ಣು ತೆರೆದಾಗ ಏನೂ ಕಾಣಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೈಹಿಡಿದು ದಮಸ್ಕದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
Then Saul got up from the ground, and upon opening his eyes he saw no one; so leading him by the hand they brought him into Damascus.
He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank.
10 ೧೦ ದಮಸ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನನೀಯನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಶಿಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು; ಕರ್ತನು ದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ; “ಅನನೀಯನೇ,” ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಲು, ಅವನು; “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!” So he said, “Here I am, Lord.”
11 ೧೧ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನೆದ್ದು ನೆಟ್ಟನೇ ಬೀದಿ ಎಂಬ ಬೀದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯೂದನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಾರ್ಸದ ಸೌಲನೆಂಬವನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ವಿಚಾರಿಸು; ಅವನು ಈಗ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
So the Lord said to him: “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas inquire by name for Saul of Tarsus; because, you see, he is praying,
12 ೧೨ ಮತ್ತು ಅನನೀಯನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದು ತನಗೆ ಪುನಃ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಾಣುವಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಯಿಟ್ಟು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and placing a hand on him, so that he might recover his sight.”
13 ೧೩ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅನನೀಯನು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ ದೇವಜನರಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಕೇಡನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿದನೆಂದು ಅವನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅನೇಕರಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
But Ananias answered: “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how many evil things he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.
14 ೧೪ ಮತ್ತು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುವವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಬೇಡಿಹಾಕಿಸುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರಿಂದ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
Moreover here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who are calling on Your name.”
15 ೧೫ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗು; ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅನ್ಯಜನರಿಗೂ, ಅರಸುಗಳಿಗೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಸಾಧನವಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
But the Lord said to him: “Get moving, because this man is a chosen vessel to me, to carry my name before nations and kings, also the children of Israel;
16 ೧೬ ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಎಷ್ಟು ಹಿಂಸೆ ಅನುಭವಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
for I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name's sake.”
17 ೧೭ ಆಗ ಅನನೀಯನು ಹೊರಟು ಆ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು, “ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಸೌಲನೇ, ನೀನು ಬಂದ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ನಿನಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಾಣುವಂತೆಯೂ, ನೀನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮಭರಿತನಾಗುವಂತೆಯೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
So Ananias went and entered the house, and placing his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me so that you may recover your sight and be filled by Holy Spirit.”
18 ೧೮ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದ ಪರೆಗಳಂತೆ ಏನೋ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಾಣಿಸಿದವು. ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he recovered his sight forthwith; and getting up he was baptized,
and upon receiving food he was strengthened. So Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for a number of days.
Immediately he started proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues, that He is the Son of the God.
21 ೨೧ ಕೇಳಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಬೆರಗಾಗಿ; “ಯೇಸುಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳುವವರನ್ನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದವನು ಇವನಲ್ಲವೇ. ಅಂಥವರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಹಾಕಿಸಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿರುವನಲ್ಲವೇ” ಎಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
Well, all who heard him were astounded and started saying: “Isn't this the one who tried to destroy, in Jerusalem, those who called on this name? Even here he had come with that purpose, that he might take them bound to the high priests.”
22 ೨೨ ಆದರೆ ಸೌಲನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ, ಯೇಸುವೇ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೆಂದು ರುಜುವಾತುಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ದಮಸ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಉತ್ತರವಿಲ್ಲದವರ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
But Saul kept growing stronger and kept on confounding the Jews who lived in Damascus, proving that ‘This One is the Christ.’
Now when a good many days had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him;
24 ೨೪ ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ಗೂಢಾಲೋಚನೆಯು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿತು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಹಗಲಿರುಳೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
but their plot became known to Saul. They started watching the gates day and night, so that they might kill him;
25 ೨೫ ಆದರೆ ಸೌಲನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ರಾತ್ರಿಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿ, ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿ, ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮಗ್ಗುಲಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿಸಿದರು.
so the disciples took him by night and passed him through the wall, lowering him in a hamper.
26 ೨೬ ಅವನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಶಿಷ್ಯರೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಪಟ್ಟಾಗ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಶಿಷ್ಯನೆಂದು ನಂಬದೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
Now upon arriving in Jerusalem Saul kept trying to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
27 ೨೭ ಆದರೆ ಬಾರ್ನಬನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೈಹಿಡಿದು, ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನು ದಮಸ್ಕದ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಕಂಡದ್ದನ್ನೂ, ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ, ದಮಸ್ಕದೊಳಗೆ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
But Barnabas took him in tow and brought him to the apostles, and described to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken fearlessly in the name of the Lord Jesus.
28 ೨೮ ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೌಲನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬೋಧಿಸತೊಡಗಿದನು.
So he was with them in Jerusalem, going in and out, and speaking fearlessly in the name of Jesus.
29 ೨೯ ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರೀಕ್ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಡುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ತರ್ಕಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
He kept on speaking and debating with the Hellenists, so they started trying to kill him.
30 ೩೦ ಇದು ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದು ಬರಲು, ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೈಸರೈಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ತಾರ್ಸಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.
Upon finding it out, the brothers brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
31 ೩೧ ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಯೂದಾಯ, ಗಲಿಲಾಯ, ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ಸೀಮೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಭೆಯು ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಹೊಂದಿತು; ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಕರ್ತನ ಭಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು, ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಂದ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿತು.
So then the congregations throughout all Judea and Galilee, and Samaria, had peace and were built up; and proceeding in the fear of the Lord and in the enabling of the Holy Spirit they were being multiplied.
Now it happened, as Peter went through all those parts, that he also went down to the saints who were living in Lydda.
33 ೩೩ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವವಾಯುರೋಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಎಂಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದ ಐನೇಯನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು.
And there he found a certain man named Aeneas who was paralyzed—he had been lying on a pallet for eight years.
34 ೩೪ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಐನೇಯನೇ, ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಎದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೀನೇ ಹಾಸಿಕೋ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವನು ಎದ್ದನು.
Peter said to him: “Aeneas, Jesus the Messiah is healing you. Get up and make your bed!” And immediately he stood up!
35 ೩೫ ಮತ್ತು ಲುದ್ದದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಶಾರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, ಅವರು ಕರ್ತನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡರು.
All who were living in Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.
36 ೩೬ ಯೊಪ್ಪ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತಬಿಥಾ ಎಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಶಿಷ್ಯಳಿದ್ದಳು. ಆ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ಗ್ರೀಕ್ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ “ದೊರ್ಕ” ಅಂದರೆ ಜಿಂಕೆ ಎಂದರ್ಥ. ಆಕೆಯು ಸತ್ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ದಾನಧರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.
Now there was a certain disciple in Joppa named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds that she kept doing.
But it happened in those days that she took sick and died; so when they had washed her they placed her in the upper room.
38 ೩೮ ಯೊಪ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಲುದ್ದವು ಹತ್ತಿರವಾಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಕೇಳಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, “ತಡಮಾಡದೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು” ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
Now Lydda was near Joppa; the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent to him imploring him not to delay in coming to them.
39 ೩೯ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಎದ್ದು ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದನು. ಅವನು ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಮೇಲಂತಸ್ತಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಧವೆಯರೆಲ್ಲ ಅಳುತ್ತಾ, ಅವನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ದೊರ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಒಳಂಗಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಮೇಲಂಗಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು.
So Peter got up and went with them; upon arriving they took him up to the upper room; all the widows stood around him weeping and showing the coats and garments that Dorcas was making while she was with them.
40 ೪೦ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಹೊರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡಿ ಶವದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು; “ತಬಿಥಾ, ಎದ್ದೇಳು” ಅಂದನು. ಆಕೆಯು ಕಣ್ಣು ತೆರೆದು ಪೇತ್ರನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಎದ್ದು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಳು.
So Peter put them all out, kneeled down and prayed. Turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, get up!” So she opened her eyes, and upon seeing Peter she sat up.
41 ೪೧ ಅವನು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಹಿಡಿದು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ, ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ವಿಧವೆಯರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವಜನರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದು, ಜೀವಿತಳಾದ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರೆದುರಿಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.
Then he gave her a hand and lifted her up, and calling the saints and widows he presented her alive.
And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.
So it was that he stayed many days in Joppa with a certain Simon, a tanner.
