ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 8
1 ೧ ಅನಂತರ ದಾವೀದನು ಹೋಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ, ಅವರ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಆಡಳಿತವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡನು.
And it came to pass, after this, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, —and David took the bridle of the metropolis, out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 ೨ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಉರುಳಿಸಿ, ಹಗ್ಗದಿಂದ ಅಳತೆಮಾಡಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರತಿ ಮೂರನೆಯ ಎರಡು ಭಾಗದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ಮೂರನೆ ಭಾಗದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿದನು. ಉಳಿದ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರು ದಾವೀದನ ದಾಸರಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಪ್ಪಕೊಡಬೇಕಾಯಿತು.
And he smote Moab, and measured them with the line casting, them down to the ground, and be measured with two lines to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive, —so the Moabites became David’s, as servants, bringing gifts.
3 ೩ ದಾವೀದನು ಯೂಫ್ರೆಟಿಸ್ ನದಿಯ ಸುತ್ತಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ರೆಹೋಬನ ಮಗನೂ ಚೋಬದ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ಹದದೆಜೆರನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದನು.
And David smote Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, —when he went to lay his hand on the River Euphrates.
4 ೪ ಅವನು ಅವರ ಸಾವಿರದ ಏಳುನೂರು ರಾಹುತರನ್ನೂ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಕಾಲಾಳುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದು ನೂರು ಕುದುರೆಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದ ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಹಿಂಗಾಲಿನ ನರಗಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
And David captured from him, a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, —and David destroyed all the chariots, but reserved of them, a hundred chariots.
5 ೫ ದಮಸ್ಕದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು, ಚೋಬದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹದದೆಜೆರನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಬಂದಾಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.
And, when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer, king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians, twenty-two thousand men.
6 ೬ ಅನಂತರ ದಾವೀದನು ದಮಸ್ಕದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡನ್ನಿರಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಪ್ಪಕೊಡುವವರಾದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದರೂ ಜಯದೊರಕಿತು.
Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became David’s, as servants bringing gifts, —and so Yahweh gave victory unto David, whithersoever he went.
And David took the shields of gold which had come to the servants of Hadadezer, —and brought them to Jerusalem;
8 ೮ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಹದದೆಜೆರನ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಾದ ಬೆಟಹದಿಂದಲೂ ಬೇರೋತೈಯಿಂದಲೂ ಬಹಳ ತಾಮ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು.
also, from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, did King David take bronze, exceeding much.
And, when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the forces of Hadadezer,
10 ೧೦ ತೋವಿಗೂ ಹದದೆಜೆರನಿಗೂ ವಿರೋಧವಿತ್ತು. ದಾವೀದನು ಹದದೆಜೆರನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿಮಾಡಿ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ತೋವು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಹರಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋರಾಮನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಇವನು ಬರುವಾಗ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ತಾಮ್ರ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದನು.
then Tou sent Hadoram his son unto King David, to ask after his welfare, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and had smitten him, for Hadadezer had had wars with Tou, —and, in his hand, were vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze.
11 ೧೧ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನಿಂದ ಅಪಜಯಹೊಂದಿದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರೂ, ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರೂ, ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರೂ, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರೂ, ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರೂ ಎಂಬ ಈ ಸುತ್ತಣ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಂದಲೂ,
Them also, did King David hallow unto Yahweh, —with the silver and the gold which he had hallowed from all the nations which he had subdued:
12 ೧೨ ಚೋಬದ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹೋಬನ ಮಗ ಹದದೆಜೆರನಿಂದಲೂ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿಸಿದನು.
from Syria, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek, —and from the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 ೧೩ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಹೋಗಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿನ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಹದಿನೆಂಟು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದಂದಿನಿಂದ ಬಹು ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದನು.
And David made a name, when he returned from his smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, —eighteen thousand.
14 ೧೪ ದಾವೀದನು ಎದೋಮಿನಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡನ್ನಿರಿಸಿದನು. ಎದೋಮ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದಾವೀದನ ದಾಸರಾದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದರೂ ಜಯವುಂಟಾಯಿತು.
And he put, in Edom, garrisons, throughout all Edom, put be garrisons, and so it was that all Edom became servants unto David, —and Yahweh gave victory unto David, whithersoever he went.
And David reigned over all Israel, —and so it was that David used to execute justice and righteousness for all his people;
and, Joab, son of Zeruiah, was over the army, —and, Jehoshaphat, son of Ahilud, was remembrancer.
And, Zadok, son of Ahitub, and Abimelech, son of Abiathar, were priests, —and, Seraiah, was scribe;
18 ೧೮ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಕೆರೇತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ಕಾವಲು ದಂಡುಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನು. ದಾವೀದನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ರಾಜನ ಮುಖ್ಯಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
and, Benaiah, son of Jehoiadah, was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites, —and, the sons of David, became, chief rulers.
