ಅರಸುಗಳು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 2
1 ೧ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಎಲೀಯನನ್ನು ಸುಂಟರಗಾಳಿಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಮಯ ಬಂದಾಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಎಲೀಷನೊಡನೆ ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟನು.
And it came to pass, when the Lord was about to take up Elijah by a storm-wind to heaven, that Elijah went out with Elisha' from Gilgal.
2 ೨ ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು, ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು” ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎನ್ನಲು, ಎಲೀಷನು, “ಯೆಹೋವನಾಣೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ತರುವಾಯ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And Elijah said unto Elisha', Remain, I pray thee, here; for the Lord hath sent me as far as Beth-el. But Elisha' said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Beth-el.
3 ೩ ಬೇತೇಲಿನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಮಂಡಳಿಯವರು ಎಲೀಷನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನು, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನೆಂಬುದು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತುಂಟೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, “ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ ನೀವು ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರಿ” ಎಂದನು.
And the sons of the prophets that were at Beth-el came forth to Elisha', and said unto him, Knowest thou that today the Lord will take away thy master from thy head? And he said, I also know it; be still.
4 ೪ ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು, ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಎಲೀಷನು, “ಯೆಹೋವನಾಣೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಎಲೀಷನು ಅವನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
And Elijah said unto him, Elisha', remain, I pray thee, here; for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. But he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
5 ೫ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಮಂಡಳಿಯವರು ಎಲೀಷನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನೆಂಬುದು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತುಂಟೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, ನನಗೆ “ಗೊತ್ತುಂಟು ನೀವು ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came near to Elisha', and said unto him, Knowest thou that today the Lord will take away thy master from thy head? And he said, I also know it; be still.
6 ೬ ಎಲೀಯನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ ಯೊರ್ದನಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಷನು, “ಯೆಹೋವನಾಣೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಅನಂತರ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಹೊರಟು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯ ದಡಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
And Elijah said unto him, Remain, I pray thee, here; for the Lord hath sent me to the Jordan. But he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So these two went on.
And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood opposite [to them] afar off: and those two stood by the Jordan.
8 ೮ ಅನಂತರ ಎಲೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ಕಂಬಳಿಯನ್ನು ಮಡಚಿ ಅದರಿಂದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯಲು ನೀರು ಎರಡು ಭಾಗವಾಯಿತು. ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಒಣನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಯೊರ್ದನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿದರು.
And Elijah took his mantle, and folded it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, and they went, both of them, over on dry ground.
9 ೯ ಅವರು ಆಚೆ ದಡಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಲೀಯನು ಎಲೀಷನನ್ನು, “ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವ ಮೊದಲು, ನಾನು ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆನ್ನುತ್ತೀ ಹೇಳು” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಷನು, “ನಿನಗಿರುವ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And it came to pass, when they passed over, that Elijah said unto Elisha', Ask what I shall do for thee, before I shall be taken away from thee. And Elisha' said, Let there be, I pray thee, a double portion of thy spirit upon me.
10 ೧೦ ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಕಷ್ಟಕರವಾದುದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆ. ಆದರೂ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವಾಗ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಾದರೆ ಅದು ನಿನಗೆ ದೊರಕುವುದು. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ದೊರಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದನು.
And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so [given] unto thee; but if not, it shall not be.
11 ೧೧ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಪಕ್ಕನೆ ಅಗ್ನಿಮಯವಾದ ರಥಗಳು ನಡುವೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದವು. ಎಲೀಯನು ಸುಂಟರಗಾಳಿಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿ ಹೋದನು.
And it came to pass, as they went on, speaking as they were going, that, behold, there came a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a storm-wind to heaven.
12 ೧೨ ಎಲೀಷನು ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ, “ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ರಥಾರಥಾಶ್ವಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವನೇ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಎಲೀಯನು ತನಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸದೆ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದು ಎರಡು ತುಂಡುಮಾಡಿದನು.
And Elisha' saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and their horsemen. And he saw him no more; and he took hold of his clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
And he lifted up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back, and stood by the border of the Jordan;
14 ೧೪ “ಎಲೀಯನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೆಲ್ಲಿ?” ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು, ಆ ಕಂಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯಲು ಅದು ಎರಡು ಭಾಗವಾಯಿತು. ಎಲೀಷನು ಹೊಳೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿಹೋದನು.
And he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord the God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither; and Elisha' passed over.
15 ೧೫ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಮಂಡಳಿಯವರು ಇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, “ಎಲೀಯನಿಗಿದ್ದ ಆತ್ಮವು ಎಲೀಷನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
And when the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho, at a distance, saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah Doth rest on Elisha'. And they came forth to meet him, and bowed themselves unto him to the ground.
16 ೧೬ ಅನಂತರ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠಜನರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಒಂದು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಾಗಲಿ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟಿರಬಹುದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದನು.
And they said unto him, Behold now, there are among thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master; peradventure the Spirit of the Lord hath taken him up, and cast him upon one of the mountains, or into one of the valleys. And he said, Ye must not send.
17 ೧೭ ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಬೇಸರಗೊಂಡು, “ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಅವರು ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಇವರು ಮೂರು ದಿನ ಹುಡುಕಿದರೂ ಎಲೀಯನನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And they urged him till he was ashamed, when he said, Send. And they sent fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
18 ೧೮ ಇನ್ನೂ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದ ಎಲೀಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಎಲೀಷನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಎಂದನು.
And they returned again to him, for he had remained at Jericho; and he then said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Ye should not go?
19 ೧೯ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನ ಜನರು ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ, “ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುವಂತೆ, ಈ ಊರು ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ನೀರು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಬಂಜೆತನ ಉಂಟಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And the men of the city said unto Elisha', Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is good, as my Lord seeth; but the water is bad, and the land causeth untimely births.
20 ೨೦ ಆಗ ಎಲೀಷನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಒಂದು ಹೊಸ ಮಡಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ ಅದನ್ನು ತಂದು ಕೊಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಅವರು ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
And he said, Fetch me a new flask, and put salt therein: and they fetched it to him.
21 ೨೧ ಅವನು ಬುಗ್ಗೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಆ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ, “ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಈ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಮರಣವೂ ಬಂಜೆತನವೂ ಉಂಟಾಗದಂತೆ ಇದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದೋಷವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಿಹರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast therein the salt, and said, Thus hath said the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from there any more death or untimely births.
So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the word of Elisha' which he spoke.
23 ೨೩ ಎಲೀಷನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಗುಡ್ಡವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಆ ಊರಿನ ಹುಡುಗರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಬೋಳು ಮಂಡೆಯವನೇ ಏರಿ ಬಾ, ಬೋಳು ಮಂಡೆಯವನೇ ಏರಿ ಬಾ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
And he went up from there to Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth young lads out of the city, and they mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, bald-head! go up, bald-head!
24 ೨೪ ಅವನು ಅವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸಿದನು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಕಾಡಿನಿಂದ ಎರಡು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಕರಡಿಗಳು ಬಂದು ಆ ಹುಡುಗರಲ್ಲಿ ನಲ್ವತ್ತೆರಡು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟವು.
And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord; and there came forth two she-bears out of the forest, and tore of them forty and two boys.
And he went from there to mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.
