ಥೆಸಲೋನಿಕದವರಿಗೆ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ 5
But of the times and seasons, brethren, ye have no need of my writing to you:
for ye yourselves know full well, that the day of the Lord cometh like a thief in the night.
3 ೩ “ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿರ್ಭಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುತ್ತೇವೆಂದು” ಜನರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ನಾಶನವು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಸವವೇದನೆ ಬರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಬರುವುದು, ಅವರು ಹೇಗೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರರು.
And when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
But ye, my brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should seize you as a thief:
5 ೫ ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ‘ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು’ ಹಾಗೂ ‘ಹಗಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು’ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀರಷ್ಟೆ, ನಾವು ರಾತ್ರಿಯವರೂ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಕತ್ತಲೆಯವರೂ ಅಲ್ಲ.
ye are all children of the light, and of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep like others, but let us watch and be sober:
for they, that sleep, sleep in the night; and drunkards are drunk in the night:
8 ೮ ನಾವಾದರೋ ಹಗಲಿನವರಾಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಳೆಂಬ ಎದೆಕವಚವನ್ನೂ, ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯೆಂಬ ಶಿರಸ್ತ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೂ ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಚಿತ್ತರಾಗಿರೋಣ.
but let us, who are of the day, be sober; putting on the breast-plate of faith and love, and for an helmet the hope of salvation.
9 ೯ ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ನೇಮಿಸದೆ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ನೇಮಿಸಿದನು.
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 ೧೦ ನಾವು ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಸರಿಯೇ ಅಥವಾ ನಿದ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಸರಿಯೇ, ತನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಜೀವಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೇಸು ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
who died for us, that whether we be awake, or asleep, we may live together with Him.
11 ೧೧ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಈಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಒಬ್ಬರ ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇರಿ.
Wherefore comfort one another, and edify each other, as indeed ye do.
And we entreat you, brethren, to respect those that labour among you, and preside over you in the Lord, and instruct you;
13 ೧೩ ಅವರನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಕೆಲಸದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿರಿ.
and to esteem them very highly in love, on account of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 ೧೪ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಮೈಗಳ್ಳರಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೇಳಿರಿ, ಮನಗುಂದಿದವರನ್ನು ಧೈರ್ಯಪಡಿಸಿರಿ, ಬಲಹೀನರಿಗೆ ಆಧಾರವಾಗಿರಿ, ಎಲ್ಲರೊಂದಿಗೆ ದೀರ್ಘಶಾಂತಿಯಿಂದಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
And admonish the disorderly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the weak, be of a patient spirit towards all.
15 ೧೫ ಯಾರೂ ಅಪಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಕಾರಮಾಡದಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನೀವು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವರಾಗಿರಿ.
See that no one render evil for evil to any man; but always pursue that which is good, both to each other and to all men.
Be always joyful.
Pray continually.
18 ೧೮ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿಮಾಡಿರಿ ಇದೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಬಂದ ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ.
In every circumstance be thankful; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Quench not the Spirit.
Slight not prophesyings:
yet try all things, and hold fast that which is good.
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 ೨೩ ಶಾಂತಿದಾಯಕನಾದ ದೇವರು ತಾನೇ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಿಸಲಿ. ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವಾಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮ, ಪ್ರಾಣ ಮತ್ತು ಶರೀರಗಳು ದೋಷವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಕಾಪಾಡಲ್ಪಡಲಿ.
And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly: and grant that your whole frame, spirit, soul, and body may be kept blameless to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.
Brethren, pray for us.
Salute all the brethren with an holy kiss.
I adjure you by the Lord, that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
