ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 8
And it comes to pass, when Samuel [is] aged, that he makes his sons judges over Israel.
And the name of his firstborn son is Joel, and the name of his second Abiah, judges in Beer-Sheba:
3 ೩ ಇವರು ತಂದೆಯ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯದೆ ದ್ರವ್ಯಾಶೆಯಿಂದ ಲಂಚತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ನ್ಯಾಯವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ತೀರ್ಪು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
and his sons have not walked in his ways, and turn aside after the dishonest gain, and take a bribe, and turn aside judgment.
And all [the] elderly of Israel gather themselves together, and come to Samuel at Ramath,
5 ೫ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನಂತೂ ಮುದುಕನಾದಿ; ನಿನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬೇರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಇರುವಂತೆ ನಮಗೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಡು. ಅವನೇ ನಮ್ಮ ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪಕನಾಗಿರಲಿ” ಅಂದರು.
and say to him, “Behold, you have become aged, and your sons have not walked in your ways; now, appoint a king to us, to judge us, like all the nations.”
6 ೬ ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಮಗೊಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಡು ಎಂಬ ಅವರ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.
And the thing is evil in the eyes of Samuel when they have said, “Give a king to us, to judge us”; and Samuel prays to YHWH.
7 ೭ ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಸಮುವೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ಜನರು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಮಾಡು; ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನಲ್ಲ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನನ್ನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬೇಡವೆನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
And YHWH says to Samuel, “Listen to the voice of the people, to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from reigning over them.
8 ೮ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿದಂದಿನಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿದರು. ನನಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನಗೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
According to all the works that they have done from the day of My bringing them up out of Egypt, even to this day, when they forsake Me, and serve other gods—so they are also doing to you.
9 ೯ ನೀನು ಈಗ ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಂತೆ ಮಾಡು; ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ರಾಜರಿಗಿರುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಎಷ್ಟೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ, ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And now, listen to their voice; only, surely you certainly protest to them, and have declared to them the custom of the king who reigns over them.”
And Samuel speaks all the words of YHWH to the people who are asking [for] a king from him,
11 ೧೧ “ಅರಸನಿಗಿರುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರವೆಷ್ಟೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಸಾರಥಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ರಾಹುತರನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಅವರು ಅವನ ರಥಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡುವವರಾಗಬೇಕು.
and says, “This is the custom of the king who reigns over you: he takes your sons, and has appointed for himself among his chariots, and among his horsemen, and they have run before his chariots;
12 ೧೨ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಸಹಸ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ, ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಪಂಚಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ನೇಮಿಸುವನು. ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಅವನ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಉಳುವವರೂ, ಪೈರನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವರೂ, ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಆಯುಧ, ರಥಸಾಮಾಗ್ರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವರೂ ಆಗಬೇಕು.
also to appoint for himself heads of thousands, and heads of fifties; also to plow his plowing, and to reap his reaping; and to make instruments of his war, and instruments of his charioteer.
13 ೧೩ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸುಗಂಧದ್ರವ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಅಡಿಗೆಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ರೊಟ್ಟಿಸುಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
And he takes your daughters for perfumers, and for cooks, and for bakers;
14 ೧೪ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಹೊಲಗಳನ್ನೂ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎಣ್ಣೇ ಮರದ ತೋಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವನು.
and your fields, and your vineyards, and your olive-yards—he takes the best, and has given to his servants.
And he tithes your seed and your vineyards, and has given to his eunuchs, and to his servants.
And your menservants and your maidservants, and the best of your young men and your donkeys, he takes, and has prepared for his own work;
he tithes your flock, and you are for servants to him.
18 ೧೮ ಆಗ ನೀವು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಅರಸನ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಸತ್ತು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವಿರಿ. ಆಗ ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು.
And you have cried out in that day because of the king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and YHWH does not answer you in that day.”
And the people refuse to listen to the voice of Samuel, and say, “No, but a king is over us,
20 ೨೦ ನಾವು ಇತರ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಂತೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು. ನಮ್ಮ ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸಿ ನಮಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನು ಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
and we have been, even we, like all the nations; and our king has judged us, and gone out before us, and fought our battles.”
And Samuel hears all the words of the people, and speaks them in the ears of YHWH;
22 ೨೨ ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅವರ ಇಷ್ಟದಂತೆ ಅವರಿಗೊಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸು” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಊರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
and YHWH says to Samuel, “Listen to their voice, and you have caused a king to reign over them.” And Samuel says to the men of Israel, “Go, each man, to his city.”
