ಅರಸುಗಳು - ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 14
At that time, fell sick, Abijah son of Jeroboam.
2 ೨ ಆಗ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಎದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೆಂದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗದಂತೆ ವೇಷಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಶೀಲೋವಿಗೆ ಹೋಗು. ನಾನು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಅರಸನಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ಮುಂತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಅಹೀಯನು ಅಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Then said Jeroboam to his wife—Arise, I pray thee, and feign thyself another, that it be not known, that, thou, art the wife of Jeroboam, —and thou shalt go thy way to Shiloh, lo! there, is Ahijah the prophet, who promised I should be king over this people;
3 ೩ ನೀನು ಹತ್ತು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಸಿಹಿಪದಾರ್ಥವನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಒಂದು ಕುಪ್ಪೆ ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗು. ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ ಏನಾಗುವುದೆಂದು ಅವನು ತಿಳಿಸುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
and thou shall take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a bottle of honey, and shalt go unto him, —he, will tell thee what shall befall the young man.
4 ೪ ಆಕೆಯು ಅವನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿ ಶೀಲೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಹೀಯನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದಳು. ಮುಪ್ಪಿನ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಅಹೀಯನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಮೊಬ್ಬಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏನು ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And the wife of Jeroboam, did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and entered the house of Ahijah, —now, Ahijah, could not see, for his eyes were fixed, by reason of his old age.
5 ೫ ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾದ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದೈವೋಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಅನ್ಯಳ ಹಾಗೆ ವೇಷಮರೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಾಳೆಂದೂ, ಆಕೆಗೆ ಇಂಥಿಂಥ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
But, Yahweh, had said unto Ahijah—Lo! the wife of Jeroboam, coming to enquire something of thee, concerning her son, for he is sick, thus and so, shalt thou speak unto her, —though, when she cometh in, she feign to be a stranger-woman.
6 ೬ ಆಕೆಯು ಅಹೀಯನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಅಹೀಯನು ಆಕೆಯ ಕಾಲು ಸಪ್ಪಳವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, “ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೇ ಬಾ. ಯಾಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅನ್ಯಳೆಂದು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀ? ನಿನಗೆ ಕಠಿಣವಾದ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
So it came to pass, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she entered the doorway, that he said—Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam, —wherefore, is it that thou art feigning to be a stranger-woman, seeing that, I, am sent unto thee, with something hard to bear?
7 ೭ ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸು. ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಿಂದ ಉನ್ನತಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದೆನು. ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ನಾಯಕನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆನು.
Go, say to Jeroboam—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the midst of the people, —and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel;
8 ೮ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಿಂದ ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟೆನು. ಆದರೂ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದಂಥ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಂತೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to thee, —and yet thou hast not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me, with all his heart, to do only that which was right in mine eyes;
9 ೯ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪೂರ್ವಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ದುಷ್ಟನಾದಿ. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿ, ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎರಕದ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪೂಜಿಸಿ ನನಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದಿ.
but hast made wicked thy doings beyond any who were before thee, —and hast gone and made thee ether gods, even molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast, me, behind thy back,
10 ೧೦ ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನೇ ಕೇಳು, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನು. ನಿನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಗಂಡಸರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಾಗಲಿ, ದಾಸರಾಗಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವೆನು. ಒಬ್ಬನು ಕಸವನ್ನು ಗುಡಿಸಿ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವಂತೆ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವೆನು.
therefore, behold me! bringing misfortune against the house of Jeroboam, and I will cut off the meanest pertaining to Jeroboam, whether shut up or left at large, in Israel, —and will consume after the house of Jeroboam, as one consumeth dung, till it be all gone:
11 ೧೧ ಅವರು ನಿರ್ನಾಮವಾಗುವರು. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗೆ ಸಾಯುವಂಥವರನ್ನು ನಾಯಿಗಳೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಯುವಂಥವರನ್ನು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳೂ ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವವು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ’. ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತು. ನೀನು ಎದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗು.
Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat, —For, Yahweh, hath spoken.
Thou, therefore, arise, go to thine own house, —as thy feet are entering the city, the young man shall die.
13 ೧೩ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಡಿ ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡುವರು. ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮನೆಯವರೊಳಗೆ ಅವನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಸಮಾಧಿಹೊಂದುವನು.
Then shall all Israel lament for him, and bury him, for, this one, pertaining to Jeroboam, shall reach a burying-place, —because there hath been found in him something good toward Yahweh, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
14 ೧೪ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಆಳಲು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸುವನು. ಅವನು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವನು. ಇನ್ನು ಏನೇನು ಸಂಭವಿಸುವದೋ?
Therefore will Yahweh raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam, this day, but why, even now?
15 ೧೫ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವನು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಪುಹುಲ್ಲೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಹೊಯ್ದಾಡುವರು. ಅವರು ಅಶೇರ ವಿಗ್ರಹಸ್ತಂಭಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕಿತ್ತುಹಾಕಿ ಯೂಫ್ರೆಟಿಸ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇಶದೊಳಗೆ ಚದುರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವನು.
Therefore will Yahweh smite Israel, as a reed shaketh in water, and will root out Israel, from off this goodly soil, which he gave unto their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River (Euphrates), —because they have made their Sacred Stems, provoking Yahweh to anger:
16 ೧೬ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಪಾಪಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅವನ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು” ಎಂದು ಆಕೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
That he may deliver up Israel, —on account of the sin of Jeroboam, which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit.
17 ೧೭ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ತಿರ್ಚಾ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಹೊಸ್ತಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಹುಡುಗನು ಸತ್ತನು.
Then arose the wife of Jeroboam, and went her way and entered Tirzah, —as, she, was coming into the entrance hall, the young man died.
18 ೧೮ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಅಹೀಯನ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಡಿ ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.
And, when they buried him, all Israel lamented him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake through his servant Ahijah the prophet.
19 ೧೯ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಇತರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳೂ ಅವನ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯಭಾರಗಳ ವಿವರವೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
And, the days which Jeroboam reigned, were twenty-two years, —and he slept with his fathers, and, Nadab his son, reigned, in his stead.
21 ೨೧ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದನು. ಅವನು ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ನಲ್ವತ್ತೊಂದು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕುಲಗಳಿಂದ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನೇಳು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯಳಾದ ನಯಮಾ ಎಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ.
And, Rehoboam, son of Solomon, reigned in Judah, —forty-one years old, was Rehoboam when he began to reign, and seventeen years, reigned he in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen to put his Name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and, his mother’s name, was Naamah, the Ammonitess.
22 ೨೨ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳಾದರು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ದುಷ್ಟರಾಗಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ರೇಗಿಸಿದರು.
And Judah did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and provoked him to jealousy, above all that their fathers had done, with their sins which they committed.
23 ೨೩ ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಂತೆಯೇ ಅವರೂ ತಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪೂಜಾ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ದಿಣ್ಣೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಂಬಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಶೇರ ವಿಗ್ರಹಸ್ತಂಭಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
And, they also, built for themselves high places and pillars, and Sacred Stems, —upon every high hill, and under every green tree.
24 ೨೪ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವೇಶ್ಯಾವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ದೇವದಾಸ, ದೇವದಾಸಿಯರು ಇದ್ದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವರ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದುರಾಚಾರಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರೂ ಆಚರಿಸುವವರಾದರು.
Moreover also, there were, male devotees, in the land, —they did according to all the abominable practices of the nations, which Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.
25 ೨೫ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಐದನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಶೀಶಕನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ದಂಡೆತ್ತಿ ಬಂದನು.
And it came to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem;
26 ೨೬ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಮತ್ತು ಅರಮನೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದ್ರವ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಗುರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು.
and took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, yea, the whole, took he away, —and took away all the bucklers of gold, which, Solomon, had made.
27 ೨೭ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ತಾಮ್ರದ ಗುರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಮನೆಯ ದ್ವಾರಪಾಲಕರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮೈಗಾವಲಿನವರ ದಳವಾಯಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
So King Rehoboam made, in their stead, bucklers of bronze, —and committed them unto the hand of the captains of the runners, who kept guard at the entrance of the house of the king.
28 ೨೮ ಅರಸನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವಾಗಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಅರಸನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿಡುವರು.
And so it was, whensoever the king went into the house of Yahweh, the runners bare them, and then brought them back into the chamber of the runners.
Now, the rest of the story of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, continually.
31 ೩೧ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಲು ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನಗರದೊಳಗೆ ಅವನ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಸ್ಮಶಾನಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯಳಾದ ನಯಮಾ ಎಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ. ಅನಂತರ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬೀಯಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.
So then Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and, the name of his mother, was Naamah the Ammonitess, —and, Abijah his son, reigned, in his stead.
