ಕೊರಿಂಥದವರಿಗೆ ಬರೆದ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ 10
1 ೧ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಸಂಗತಿ ಏನೆಂದರೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಮೇಘದ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನು ದಾಟಿಹೋದರು.
For I wish not ye should be ignorant, brethren, that, all our fathers, were, under the cloud, and, all, passed through the sea, —
And, all, immersed themselves into Moses, in the cloud, and in the sea;
And, all, did eat [the same] spiritual food,
4 ೪ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದೈವಿಕವಾದ ಒಂದೇ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದರು. ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೈವಿಕವಾದ ಬಂಡೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬಂದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆ ಬಂಡೆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೇ.
And, all, drank, the same spiritual drink, —for they continued to drink of the spiritual rock that followed them, and, the rock, was the Christ: —
5 ೫ ಆದರೂ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ದೇವರು ಮೆಚ್ಚಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಸಂಹರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಶವಗಳು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲ ಬಿದ್ದವು.
Nevertheless, with the most of them, God, was not well-pleased, for they were strewed along in the desert.
But, in these things, they became, ensamples for us, to the end we should not be covetous of evil things, even as, they, also coveted;
7 ೭ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ವಿಗ್ರಹಾರಾಧಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು, “ಜನರು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡರು. ಕಾಮಾಭಿಲಾಷೆಯಿಂದ ಕುಣಿದಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಎದ್ದರು” ಎಂದು ಬರೆದಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ. ನೀವು ಅವರ ಹಾಗೆ ವಿಗ್ರಹಾರಾಧಕರಾಗಬೇಡಿರಿ.
Neither become ye, idolaters, as some of them, —as it is written—The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to be making sport;
8 ೮ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಜಾರತ್ವ ಮಾಡಿ ಒಂದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮೂರು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರು ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದರು. ಅವರ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾವು ಜಾರತ್ವ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇರೋಣ.
Neither let us commit fornication, as, some of them, committed fornication, and there fell, in one day, three and twenty thousand;
Neither let us be putting the Lord to the test, as, some of them, put him to the test, and, by the serpents, were perishing;
Neither be ye murmuring, even, as some of them, murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
11 ೧೧ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ನಿದರ್ಶನರೂಪವಾಗಿವೆ. ಮತ್ತು ಯುಗಾಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿರುವವರಾದ ನಮಗೆ ಇದು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿವೆ. (aiōn g165)
But, these things, by way of type, were happening unto them, and were written with a view to our admonition, unto whom, the ends of the ages, have reached along. (aiōn g165)
So that, he that thinketh he is standing, let him take heed lest he fall.
13 ೧೩ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸಾಧಾರಣವಾಗಿ ಬರುವ ಶೋಧನೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲ. ದೇವರು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಮೀರುವ ಶೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರಗೊಡಿಸದೆ ನೀವು ಅದನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಕ್ತರಾಗುವಂತೆ ಶೋಧನೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಲೇ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವನು.
Trial, hath not taken you, save such as man can bear; faithful, moreover is God, who will not suffer you to be tried above what ye are able, but will make, with the trial, also the way of escape, that ye may be able to hold out.
Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry, —
As, to prudent men, I speak, —judge, ye, what I say: —
16 ೧೬ ನಾವು ದೇವರ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮಾಡಿ ಪಾನಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾನ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ರಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದಲ್ಲವೇ? ನಾವು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ತಿನ್ನುವುದು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದಲ್ಲವೇ?
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not, a sharing together of the blood of the Christ? The loaf which we break, is it not, a sharing together of the body of the Christ?
17 ೧೭ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಒಂದೇ ಆಗಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅನೇಕರಾಗಿರುವ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರು ಒಂದೇ ದೇಹದಂತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆ ಒಂದೇ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತೇವೆ.
Because, one loaf, one body, we, the many, are, for we, all, of the one loaf, partake.
18 ೧೮ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯ ಜನರ ಕುರಿತು ಯೋಚಿಸಿರಿ. ಯಜ್ಞಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವವರು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯೊಡನೆ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರಲ್ಲವೇ.
Be looking at Israel after the flesh: —are not, they who eat the sacrifices, joint partakers with the altar?
19 ೧೯ ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಾನು ಏನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗಾಯಿತು? ವಿಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಆಹಾರಪದಾರ್ಥವು ವಾಸ್ತವವೆಂದೋ ಅಥವಾ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ವಾಸ್ತವವೆಂದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವೋ? ಅಲ್ಲ,
What, then, am I saying?—that, an idol-sacrifice, is anything? or that, an idol, is anything?
20 ೨೦ ಆದರೆ ಅನ್ಯಜನರು ತಾವು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗಲ್ಲ, ದೆವ್ವಗಳಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವು. ನೀವು ದೆವ್ವಗಳೊಡನೆ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಇಷ್ಟವಲ್ಲ.
On the contrary—that, the things which the nations sacrifice, unto demons, and not unto God, they sacrifice; and I wish not that ye should become, sharers together with the demons!
21 ೨೧ ನೀವು ಕರ್ತನ ಪಾನಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಾಗೂ ದೆವ್ವಗಳ ಪಾನಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕುಡಿಯಲಾರಿರಿ. ಕರ್ತನ ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ದೆವ್ವಗಳ ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಊಟಮಾಡಲಾರಿರಿ.
Ye cannot be drinking—a cup of the Lord, and a cup of demons; ye cannot be partaking of, a table of the Lord, and a table of demons.
Or are we to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we mightier than he?
23 ೨೩ “ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಂಟು.” ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕರವಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. “ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಂಟು” ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಜನರನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
All things are allowable—but, not all things, are profitable, —all things are allowable—but, not all things, upbuild.
Let, no one, be seeking, what concerneth himself, but that which concerneth some one else.
25 ೨೫ ಮಾಂಸದ ಅಂಗಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರುವಂಥದ್ದು ಏನಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವಂತೆ ವಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡದೇ ತಿನ್ನಿರಿ.
Whatsoever, in the market, is sold, eat, —asking no question, for conscience sake;
For, unto the Lord, belongeth the earth, and the fullness thereof.
27 ೨೭ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನನ್ನು ನಂಬದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆಯುವಾಗ ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮಗಿಷ್ಟವಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮಗೇನು ಬಡಿಸಿದರೂ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸದೇ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಿರಿ.
If one of them who believe not invite you, and ye are disposed to go, whatsoever is set before you, eat, —asking no question, for conscience sake.
28 ೨೮ ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿಮಗೆ “ಇದು ವಿಗ್ರಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಿಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದವನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬೇಡಿರಿ.
But, if anyone should say unto you, —This, is, a holy sacrifice, do not eat, for that man’s sake who disclosed it, and for conscience sake: —
29 ೨೯ ಅದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲ; ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾಕೆ ತೀರ್ಪಾಗಬೇಕು?
But, conscience, I mean, not thine own, but the other’s, —for why is my freedom to be judged by another’s conscience?
If, I, with gratitude, partake, why am I to be defamed, as to that for which, I, give thanks?
Whether, therefore, ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do, all things to the glory of God.
Give no occasion of stumbling—whether to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the assembly of God:
33 ೩೩ ನಾನಂತೂ ಸ್ವಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಚಿಂತಿಸದೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರು ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಚಿಂತಿಸಿ, ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
Even as, I also, in all things do please all, not seeking my own profit, but that of the many, that they may be saved.
