Mani'zanti Mofo Nanekee 30
1 Ama'na nanekea, Jake nemofo, Aguri Itielintegane Ukalintega huama huno kre zanami'nea naneke.
These are sayings/messages that God gave to Agur, the son of Jakeh. [Agur wrote them] for Ithiel and Ucal.
2 Tamage nagra mago'a vahe'mo'zama nehaza havizana agatere'na havizantfa nehu'na, vahe'mo'zama antahi ama'ma nehazaza hu'na antahiamara nosue.
It seems that I am very stupid; I do not deserve to be considered to be a human; I do not have the good sense that humans should have.
3 Nagra knare antahi'zana rempi hu'na e'ori'na, Anumzamo'ma Ruotage hu'nemofoma keno antahino'ma hu antahi'zana e'ori'noe.
I have not learned [how to become] wise and I do not know [much] about God.
4 Iza monafinka mareriteno ete erami'ne? Iza zahora aza agu'safina azeri'ne? Iza tavarave'afina tina anakino ante'ne? Iza mopa ometre emetretera mika'zana antegeno fore huno me'ne? Agri agi'a iza'e, nemofo agi'a iza'e? Antahinesunka nasamio!
[But let me say this]: No one [RHQ] has ascended to heaven [to find out what God is like] and returned [to tell us]. No one [RHQ] has gathered/held the wind in his hand. No one [RHQ] has wrapped the water [in the ocean] in [a piece of] cloth, and no one [RHQ] has established the boundaries of the earth. [If you know who has done those things, tell me] [RHQ] his name, and the names of his children [SAR]! [But you do not know who has done those things, so you cannot speak with authority about what God is like].
5 Anumzamofo kema maka ke'za antahi'zama hu'nazana tamage ke me'ne. Agra mika zamagu vazinogu'ma Agrite'ma neaza vahe'mokizmia hankogna hu'neno zamagu nevazie.
Everything that God has said is true; he is [like] a shield [MET] for all those who request him to protect them.
6 Anumzamofo nanekerera kagra'a kagesafintira amerasenka ruokamaro, ru kazeri korino havige vahe maninane huno kazeri ama hugahie.
Do not add to (OR, change) what God has said; if you do that, he will rebuke you and show that you are lying.
7 Anumzamoka tare zantfanku kantahige'za huanki kavresra huonanto, ama mopafi ofri'na kasefa hu'na mani'nesurera,
[God], I ask you to do two things for me; [please] do them before I die:
8 ese' zanku'ma kantahigesuana, nazahuge'na vahe'ma revatgahu avu'ava'zane havigea osaneno. Anante zana natrege'na rama'a feno vahera omanige, namunte omane vahera omanisuanki magoke magoke knama nesugeno namuma hania avamente namio.
Help me never to lie or deceive [people] and do not cause me to become poor or to become rich. [Just] give me the food that I need;
9 Na'ankure nagrama rama'azama antesuna, namefi hunegamina ru Ra Anumzamoka kage'na antahi'na osu'noe huge, ru namunte omanena musufa nesena, kagi eri haviza huzankura, avamente namio.
because if I become rich, I might say that I do not [RHQ] know you and that I do not need you; and if I become poor, I might dishonor you by stealing things.
10 Mago kazokzo eriza nemofona kva'amofontera vunka ome azeri haviza hu kea osuo. Kagrama anama hnankeno'a, ana kazokzo eriza ne'mo'a antahi haviza hugantena, hazenkefi manigahane.
Do not (slander/say bad things about) a worker to his boss; if you do that, the worker will curse you, and cause you to have trouble.
11 Mago'a vahe'mo'za nezmafana hu haviza hunezamante'za, nezamrerana musenkea hunozmantaze.
[I will list four kinds of evil things that people do]: Some people curse their fathers and do not [ask God to] bless their mothers.
12 Mago'a vahe'mo'zama antahizana kumitia omne'ne nehazanagi, Anumzamofo avurera agrua osu'naze.
Some people think that they are perfect, but [really] they have never been cleansed from their guilt for committing disgusting sins.
13 Mago'a vahe'mo'za knare hu'none huza zamavufaga ra nehu'za, mago'a vahe'mokizmia zmage fenkami netraze.
Some people are very proud; they think that they are very good and they despise others.
14 Mago'a vahe'mokizmi zamavemo'a, vahe'ma zamahe bainati kazinkna higeno, tuke zamavemo'a kazinkna huno asaneneankino zamunte omane vahe ene, mago'a zanku'ma atupa'ma hu'nesnaza vahera, ama mopafintira zamasga huvazigahaze.
Some people [act very cruelly toward others]; [it is as though] [MET] they have teeth that are [like] sharp knives; they severely oppress poor [people] and try to cause them to disappear from the land.
15 Kukufamo'a taremofatre zanante'ne. Zanagi'a, Namio, Namioke! Zmavesizama eriknarema nosia zana 3'a za me'ne. Zmamuma nosia zana 4'a za me'neankino,
Leeches [are always wanting more blood to suck]; [similarly, greedy people are always] saying “Give [me some]!” or “Give [me more]!” [MET] There are four things that are never (satisfied/content with what they have); they always want more [LIT]:
16 e'i ana zantamina, fri vahe kumaki, vene'ma mase a'mo'ma mofavrema nontea naravo aki, tima anihuma nehia hagege mopagi, ke'onke zama tefananema nehia tevemofonena zamura nosie. (Sheol h7585)
The place where the dead people are; women who do not have any children; ground that needs water/rain; and a fire that always needs more wood. (Sheol h7585)
17 Nefama negeno azanava kema hunenteno, nererama kefenkami atresnia vahe'mofo avurga, kotkoti nama zaga'mo'za ana avurga ani kasonepesageno, tumpa namamo'za avufga nevagaregahaze.
Those who [SYN] make fun of their fathers or refuse to obey their mothers (OR, despise their aged mothers) should [die and] have their eyes pecked out by crows, and the [rest of their corpses should be] fed to the vultures.
18 Nagritera 3'a zamo ruzahukna zana megeno, antahi ama'ma nosua zana 4'a za me'ne.
There are four things that are wonderful to me, [but] I do not understand any of them:
19 E'i ana zana ina kante tumpamo'a monafina hareno nevie, ina kante osifavemo'a have agofetura regraroheno vanoa nehie. Ina kante ventemo'a tusi'a hagerimpina vano nehie. Hagi na'a hu'nea zanku vene'nemo'za, vene omase akura zamave'nesie.
How eagles fly in the sky, how snakes [are able to] move/crawl across a big rock, how ships sail on the seas, and how a man falls in love with a woman.
20 Savri a'mofo avu'avamo'a amanahu hu'ne, venema maseteno'a, ne'za neteno agiteti eri ho'mu hiankna nehuno, kefo zana osu'noe nehie.
This is what a woman who (is not faithful to/does not have sex only with) her husband does: She commits adultery [EUP], and [then] bathes and says, “I have not done anything that is wrong!”
21 3'a zamo ama mopamofona azeri tore nehanigeno, 4'a zamo raga oregosie.
There are four things that no [one in] the world can tolerate:
22 E'i kazokzo eri'za ne'mo'ma kini mani'zane, neginagi antahi'zane vahe'mo'za nezama nezamuma hu'zane,
[What] a slave [does who] becomes a king, a foolish person eating [too much] food,
23 ave'sinontaza a'mo'ma ve'ma eri'zane, kazokzo eri'za a'mo'ma kva'ama maninesia a'mofo ve'ama rehanareno manizamo'a, ama mopa azeri tore nehie.
[what] a woman who is hated [does when she] gets married, and [what] a female servant [does when she] becomes the boss instead of her mistress.
24 Ama'na mopafina 4'a onensa zagaramina mani'nazanagi, knare antintahimo'a zamagripina avite'ne.
[There are] four animals on the earth that are small, but they are very wise:
25 Kipzuvemofona hanave zmimo'a osi hu'neanagi, ko knafima nesagura ne'zana zagegnafi eritru nehaze.
Ants are not strong, but they store up food during the summer [in order to have it during the winter].
26 Krofamofona hanavezmia omne'neanagi, havefi nozmia negize.
Rock badgers [also] are not strong, but they make their homes among the rocks [where they will be safe].
27 Kenumofona kini vahe'zamia omani'neanagi, sondia vahe'mo'zama nehazaza hu'za, vugota hu'za nevazageno, ana amage amage hu'za nevaze.
Locusts do not have a king, but they march like [the soldiers in] an army.
28 Tagovira kazanteti amne fru hunka azeriga zagamo'agi, kini vahe'mokizmi marerisa nompina ufregahaze.
Lizards/Geckos [are very small and] you can hold them in your hand, but they are [cleverly able to get] inside kings’ palaces.
29 3'a zagamo'za knare huza kana nevazagena kenasane nehuanagi, 4'a zagamoza fatgo hu'za nevazagena negoe.
[There are] four animals that strut around and look very impressive while they walk [DOU]:
30 E'i ana zaga laionigino mika zagamofona hanave'amo'a zamagatere'neankino, mago zagagura korora huno manigane ozamantegahie.
Lions, which are stronger than all other animals and are not afraid of any of them;
31 Ve kokoremoza zamahihiza eri antesga hu'za vazageno, ve memeki afumo'za zamasenia eri antesga hu'za vazankna huno, kini ne'mo'ma sondia vahe'anema nevuno'a, ana nehie.
male goats, strutting roosters, and kings who (parade/walk proudly back and forth) in front of the people whom they rule.
32 Kagrama neginagi kavukava'ma hunka kavufa ra nehunka, kefo avu'ava'ma hu antahi'zama retro'ma nehanunka, kazanu kagite refintenka kea osuo.
If you have acted foolishly, exalting yourself, or if you been planning [to do something] evil, stop it immediately [IDM]!
33 Mememofo amirima tatizana bata tronehaze. Hagi kagona ru hapati'sazana, kora hugahie. E'ina hu'negu arimpama ahe'zamo'a, ha' eri fore nehie.
If you churn milk, it produces butter/curds, and if you hit [someone hard on his] nose, [his nose] bleeds; similarly, if you do something to cause [people to become] angry, strife [usually] results.
