1 Okina e'inahu'za hugahue hunka kavufga rana osuo, na'ankure mago mago knamo'ma erino'ma e'nia zana ontahi'nane.
Boast not thyself of to-morrow, For thou knowest not what a day bringeth forth.
2 Atregeno ru vahe'mo'za husga hunegantena, kagra'agura husga osuo. Rurega vahe'mo'za husga huganteho, kagra'a kavufga husga osuo.
Let another praise thee, and not thine own mouth, A stranger, and not thine own lips.

Better [is] open reproof than hidden love.

Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart, And the sweetness of one's friend — from counsel of the soul.
10 Roneka'ane negafa rone'amofona kamefira huozamio. Hazenkema e'nerisunka kazama hinogura negafu nontega ovuo. Tava'onkare'ma nemanisimofo nontega vu'zamo'a, afete'ma mani'nenia nagafu nontegama vu'zana ageterene.
Thine own friend, and the friend of thy father, forsake not, And the house of thy brother enter not In a day of thy calamity, Better [is] a near neighbour than a brother afar off.

Be wise, my son, and rejoice my heart. And I return my reproacher a word.

Whoso is hiding her hath hidden the wind, And the ointment of his right hand calleth out.
17 Aenireti'ma, aenima kane'agonama nehiankna huno, vahe'mo'a, vahe'mofo antahintahia azeri fatgo hugahie.
Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend.
18 Fiki zafama kegava hanimo'a, raga'a tagino negahie. Hagi iza'o kva'amofoma kegava huntesimo'a, ra agi agra erigahie.
The keeper of a fig-tree eateth its fruit, And the preserver of his master is honoured.
19 Timpima kvugosama kanankna huno, kavukava'ma hanazamo'a kagu'afima me'neaza eri ama nehie.
As [in] water the face [is] to face, So the heart of man to man.
20 Fri vahe kuma'mo'ene, fri vahe'mo'za avi'ma notazankna huno, vahe'mofo zamavenesia zamo'a zamura nosie. (Sheol )
Sheol and destruction are not satisfied, And the eyes of man are not satisfied. (Sheol )
21 Koline, silvama azeri agruma hunakura, tusi'a tevefi kre'za negazanagi, vahe'mofoma reheno negeana ragima amizanteti reheno nege.
A refining pot [is] for silver, and a furnace for gold, And a man according to his praise.
22 Neginagi vahe'mofona neginagi avu'ava atresiegura, havereti witima refuzafupeno hona'a hareankna hunka zmahegahananagi, ana neginagi zamavu'zamava'ma nehaza zampintira, zamazeri otregahane.
If thou dost beat the foolish in a mortar, Among washed things — with a pestle, His folly turneth not aside from off him.
23 Memene, sipisipi afukamo'zama nemaniza nomaniza zamia rezaganenka ke so'e hunka negenka, kagu'areti hunka kegava huzamanto.
Know well the face of thy flock, Set thy heart to the droves,
24 Na'ankure, fenozamo'a mevava osanigeno, ragima eri'zamo'a mago naga nofitera meno ovugahie.
For riches [are] not to the age, Nor a crown to generation and generation.
25 Trazama akafri atresigeno'ma kasefa hagesigeno agonaregati trazana erinoma ufresigeno'a,
Revealed was the hay, and seen the tender grass, And gathered the herbs of mountains.
26 sipisipi afu'mo'zane meme afu'mo'za nenesageno, sipisipi afumofona azoka'aretira kukena hatino nentanino, meme afura mopama mizasega'are zagorera atreno zagoa erigahie.
Lambs [are] for thy clothing, And the price of the field [are] he-goats,
27 Hagi meme afumofo ami rima'a, rama'a me'nenkeno agrane noma'afima nemaniza naga'amo'zane nenesageno, kazokzo eri'za mofane'amo'za nesazama'anena megahie.
And a sufficiency of goats' milk [is] for thy bread, For bread to thy house, and life to thy damsels!
