A fair name is better than much wealth, and good favour is above silver and gold.
2 Feno vahe'ene amunte omane vahe'enena, Ra Anumzamo ana tarega vahera tro huzanantege'ne mani'na'e.
The rich and the poor meet together; but the Lord made them both.
3 Antahi ankere antahi'zane vahe'mo'a, hazenke zama ne-esigeno'a negeno maniganesigeno agateregahianagi, knare antahizama omane vahe'mo'a, hazenkema fore'ma nehanigeno'a, negeno vuno ana hazenkezana erino knazampina manigahie.
An intelligent man seeing a bad man severely punished is himself instructed, but fools pass by and are punished.
4 Agra'a avufga anteramino nemanino, Ra Anumzamofonku'ma koro hunteno, agorga'ama mani'zamo'a, rama'a fenoza nentesankeno kagia husga nehanagenka, za'za kna manigahane.
The fear of the Lord is the offspring of wisdom, and wealth, and glory, and life.
5 Akrahe krahe avu'ava ene vahe'ma nevaza kampina, ave'ave zane vahe'ma azeri kukone me'ne. Hianagi iza'o agra'ama kegavama himo'a afete nemanie.
Thistles and snares are in perverse ways; but he that keeps his soul will refrain from them.
The rich will rule over the poor, and servants will lend to their own masters.
8 Kefozama krinenimo'a, henka ne'zama'a hazenke'za kafigahie. Hagi vahe'ma zamazeri havizama nehia himamu'amo'a, vagaregahie.
He that sows wickedness shall reap troubles; and shall fully receive the punishment of his deeds. God loves a cheerful and liberal man; but [a man] shall fully prove the folly of his works.
9 Iza'o zamunte'ma omane naga'ma muse zampinti'ma ne'zama zamisia vahera, Ra Anumzamo'a asomu huzamantegahie.
He that has pity on the poor shall himself be maintained; for he has given of his own bread to the poor. He that gives liberally secures victory an honour; but he takes away the life of them that posses [them].
10 Kehu haviza hu vahera zamahe anati atrenkeno, vahe'ma huhavizama hu'zane, ha'ma hu'zane, fragema hu'zana vagareno.
Cast out a pestilent person from the council, and strife shall go out with him; for when he sits in the council he dishonours all.
11 Agu'amo'ma agru nehanigeno, fru kema huzanku avenesisimo'a, kini ne'mofo rone'a manigahie.
The Lord loves holy hearts, and all blameless persons are acceptable with him: a king rules with his lips.
12 Ra Anumzamo'a antahi'zama erizante avu'a anteno kegava nehianagi, hazenke vahe'mofo kea erinetre.
But the eyes of the Lord preserve discretion; but the transgressor despises [wise] words.
13 Feru vahe'mo'a amanage nehie, megi'a laioni mani'neankino, vanuana nahe frigahie huno nehie.
The sluggard makes excuses, and says, [There is] a lion in the ways, and murderers in the streets.
14 Savri a'mofo agipinti'ma ne-ea kemo'a, muri kankna hu'ne, izano Ra Anumzamo'ma arimpa hentesimo'a, ana muri kampi tamigahie.
The mouth of a transgressor is a deep pit; and he that is hated of the Lord shall fall into it. Evil ways are before a man, and he does not like to turn away from them; but it is needful to turn aside from a perverse and bad way.
15 Mofavremofo agu'afina negi'nagi avu'avazamo avitegahianagi, kanoma amino azeri fatgoma hu'zamo ana avu'ava zampintira azeri arukrahe hugahie.
Folly is attached to the heart of a child, but the rod and instruction are [then] far from him.

He that oppresses the poor, increases his own substance, yet gives to the rich so as to make it less.
17 Knare antahi'zane vahe'mofo kere kagesa antenka antahise nehunka, nagrama rempima hugamisuaza huo.
Incline your ear to the words of wise men: hear also my word, and apply your heart,

that you may know that they are good: and if you lay them to heart, they shall also gladden you on your lips.
19 Nagra menina rempi hunegamugu, nentahinka Ra Anumzamofonte kagranena kamentinti huo.
That your hope may be in the Lord, and he may make your way known to you.
20 Nagra 30'a knare kegaga krentegantenofina, kavumro kene, antahiza eri zamofo naneke kregaminoankinka,
And do you too repeatedly record them for yourself on the table of your heart, for counsel and knowledge.
21 ama ana kereti tamage kea rempi hunka antahinenka, iza'o tamage kegu'ma hugantenigenka e'nesamofona fatgo'are kenona ome asamigahane.
I therefore teach you truth, and knowledge good to hear; that you may answer words of truth to them that question you.
22 Zamunte omane vahe'mokizmi zana ohanareho, na'ankure zamagra zamunte omane vahe mani'naze. Hagi zamunte omanesige'zama atupama hu'nesaza vahera, keagarera zamavarenteta zamazeri havizana osiho.
Do no violence to the poor, for he is needy: neither dishonour the helpless [man] in the gates.
23 Na'ankure Ra Anumzamo'a, zamunte omane vahera zamahokeno zamazeri havizama hanaza vahe'mokizmia, zamazeri haviza hugahie.
For the Lord will plead his cause, and you shall deliver your soul in safety.
24 Arimpa hevava vahera rone huonto, ame huno rimpahe vahe'enena tagro oto,
Be not companion to a furious man; neither lodge with a passionate man:
25 ru ana vahe zamavu'zamava enerisankeno, kukomo kazeriankna huno kagu'a kazeri haviza hugahie.
lest you learn of his ways, and get snares to your soul.
26 Mago vahera huvempa hunka mago'za hugantegahue osuo. Hagi ru vahe'mo'ma nofi'ma hu'nesigenka, ana nofi'ma hu'nea zana nagra vakanentegahue hunka osuo.
Become not surety from respect of a man's person.
27 Anama nofi'ma hu'nesaza zama apa osesanke'za miko zanka'ane, tafe'ma masinkama nemasesana zanena eri vagaregahaze.
For if those have not whence to give compensation, they will take the bed [that is] under you.
28 Tamagehe'mo'za ko'ma re'nenaza kanagi kana, akasi kantutretma rumofo mopa eri havia osiho.
Remove not the old landmarks, which your fathers placed.
29 Eri'zama eri antahi'zama eri'nea ne'mofo eri'zana negano? Agra kini vahe'mokizmi eri'za vahe nemanino, agi omane vahe'mofo eri'za vahera omanigahie.
It is fit that an observant man and [one] diligent in his business should attend on kings, and not attend on slothful men.
