Now the sons of Ruben and of Gad had many herds, and their substance in cattle was inestimable. And when they had seen that the lands of Jazer and Gilead were suitable for feeding animals,
2 Hagi Gati naga'ene Rubeni naga'mo'za Mosesema pristi ne' Elieasama, Israeli ranra vahe'enena amanage hu'za eme zamasami'naze,
they went to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest and the leaders of the multitude, and they said:
3 Atarotigi, Dibonigi, Jazerigi, Nimragi, Hesbonigi, Elealagi, Sibamugi, Nebogi, Beoni kumatamimofo tava'ontema me'nea moparamina,
“Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Sebam, and Nebo, and Beon,

the land, which the Lord has struck in the sight of the sons of Israel, is a very fertile region for pasturing animals. And we, your servants, have very many cattle.
5 Ana hu'negu musema hunerantesunka ama ana mopa atregeta kagri eri'za vahe'mota erisantiharamneno. Hagi tataregeta Jodani timofo kantu kaziga takaheta ovugahune.
And so we beseech you, if we have found favor before you, that you give it to us, your subjects, as a possession, and that you not cause us cross the Jordan.”
6 Hagi Mosese'a Rubeni naga'ene Gati nagara zamasamino, tamagra kama kaziga mani'nenage'za mago'a tamafuhe'za kantu kaziga hara ome hanazegu nehazo?
And Moses answered them: “Should your brothers go to battle, while you sit here?

Why do you subvert the minds of the sons of Israel, so that they might not dare to cross into the place which the Lord will give to them?
8 Hagi Kades-Baneati'ma tamafahe'ima huzamantoge'za ama ana mopama nege'za hu'nazankna huta tamagra ana nehaze.
Did not your fathers act in the same way, when I sent them from Kadesh-Barnea to explore the land?
And when they had gone all the way to the Valley of the Cluster of Grapes, having viewed the entire region, they subverted the hearts of the sons of Israel, so that they would not enter into the parts that the Lord gave to them.
10 Ana knazupage Ra Anumzamofona tusi arimpa ahegeno, amanage huno huvempa kea hu'ne,
And being angry, the Lord swore an oath, saying:
11 na'ankure Nagrira zamagu'areti hu'za namagera onte'nazagu, Isipiti'ma e'naza vahepintira kafuzamimo'ma 20'a kafuma agatere'nesia vahe'mo'za Abrahamuma, Jekopuma, Aisakima huvempama huzmante'noa mopa ome onkegosaze huno hu'ne.
‘These men, who ascended out of Egypt, from twenty years and above, will not see the land, which I have promised under an oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For they were not willing to follow me,
12 Hagi mago'mo'e huno agu'aretira namagera onte'neanki, Jefune nemofo Kalepiki, Nuni nemofo Josuakea zanagrake zanagu'aretira navesi nenanteke namagera ante'na'e.
except Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun; these have fulfilled my will.’
13 Ana hu'negu Ra Anumzamo'a Israeli vahera arimpa ahezamantege'za 40'a zagegafufina ka'ma kopina vanovano nehazageno, Ra Anumzamofonte'ma kumima hu'naza vahe'mo'za fri 'naze.
And the Lord, being angry against Israel, led them in a course through the desert for forty years, until the entire generation, which had done evil in his sight, was consumed.
14 Hianagi menina keho, kumike vahe'mokizmi mofavre'ramina, tamagra neramafazama hu'nazaza huta kumira nehuta, mago'ane Ra Anumzamofona azeri arimpahazageno Israeli vahe'motagura rimpa aheneramante.
And behold,” he said, “you have risen up in the place of your fathers, the offshoots and the nurslings of sinful men, in order to augment the fury of the Lord against Israel.
15 Hagi tamagra mago'anema Ra Anumzamofoma tamage'nama humisaza zamo hanigeno, Ra Anumzamo'a ka'ma kopina mago'ane tamatresigeta havizana hugahaze.
But if you are not willing to follow him, he will leave the people behind in the wilderness, and you will have been the cause of all our deaths.”
16 Hianagi Mosesente e'za anage hu'naze, Tagra amafi afu kevutima antesuna kumara negita, a'netine ne'one mofavretinema mani'nuna kumara kigahune.
But approaching closer, they said: “We will manufacture sheep pens and cattle stalls, as well as fortified cities, for our little ones.
17 Hianagi a'mofavretia hanave vihufi mani'nenageta tagra ha'pina ugoteta Israeli nagatia zamavareta nevamanena, erisanti haregahaze'ma hu'nea mopa ome erigahaze.
But we ourselves will continue on, armed and girded for battle, before the sons of Israel, until we lead them to their places. Our little ones, and whatever we may be able to have, shall be in walled cities, because of the treachery of the inhabitants.
18 Hagi tagra kumatirega ometa mani'nesunke'za, mika Israeli naga'mo'za erisantima haregahazema hu'nea mopa erivaretesageta kumatirega vugahune.
We will not return to our houses, even until the sons of Israel may possess their inheritance.
19 Hagi Jodani timofo kantu kazigama me'nea mopafintira mago mope huta erisanti oharegahune. Na'ankure kama zage hanati kazigama me'nea mopa ko erisantihare'none.
Neither will we seek anything across the Jordan, because we already have our possession on its eastern side.”
20 Anante Mosese'a zamasamino, Tamagrama kema hazaza huta, ha'ma hunaku'ma Ra Anumzamofo avugama retro'ma hanuta,
And Moses said to them: “If you accomplish what you have promised, you may go out, equipped for battle, before the Lord.
21 tamagra Ra Anumzamofo avuga Jodani tina takaheta nevanageno, Ra Anumzamo agra'a hara huno ha' vahe'a zamazeri agateregahie.
And let every fighting man cross over the Jordan, until the Lord overthrows his enemies,
22 Hagi Israeli vahe'mo'zama ana mopama erivagaretesageta eteta kuma tamirega e'nageno, kema anaki'naza kemo'a vagaregahie. Hagi Jodani timofo zage hanati kaziga mopa Ra Anumzamo taminigeta erisantihareta tamagra kegava hugahaze.
and all the land is subjected to him. Then you will be guiltless with the Lord and with Israel, and you will obtain the regions which you desire before the Lord.
23 Hianagi anazama osanazana tamagra Ra Anumzamofontera kumi hugahazankino ana kumi'mofo nona'a, tamagra knazama'a erigahaze.
But if you do not do what you have said, no one could doubt that you will have sinned against God. And know this: your sin shall overtake you.
24 Hu'negu a'netamine mofavre'tamimo'za mani'naza ranra kumara kinezamanteta afutamima antesaza kumara retro hiho. Hianagi huvempa hu'naza zana huvareho.
Therefore, build cities for your little ones, and pens and stables for your sheep and cattle; and fulfill what you have promised.”
25 Hige'za Gati naga'ene Rubeni naga'mo'za Mosesena kenona hunte'za, Kagri eri'za vahe'mota ramokama hanazana hugahune.
And the sons of Gad and of Ruben said to Moses: “We are your servants, we shall do what you, our ruler, orders.
26 Hagi neone mofavretine a'netine afu kevutia kama rankumapi Gileati manigahaze.
We will leave behind our little ones, and our wives, and the sheep and cattle, in the cities of Gilead.
27 Hianagi kagri eri'za vahetamimo'za Jodani timofo kantu kaziga ha'zazmi eri'ne'za takahe'za vu'za Ra Anumzamofo avuga ramokama hanana kante ante'za hara ome hugahaze.
And we, your servants, all well-equipped, will go forth to battle, just as you, our ruler, has spoken.”
28 Hazageno Mosese'a Elieasane Josuane mago'a Israeli naga nofite'ma vugota huterema hu'naza vahera zamasmino,
Therefore, Moses instructed Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the princes of the families throughout the tribes of Israel, and he said to them:
29 Rubeni naga'ene Gati naga'mo'zama ha'zama retro hu'za Jodani tima takahe'zama Ra Anumzamofo hatema tamagranema vu'za ha'ma ome hu'za mopama omeritamisageta erisuta, Giliati mopa zamigahaze.
“If the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben cross over the Jordan with you, all armed for war before the Lord, and if the land becomes subject to you, give them Gilead as a possession.
30 Hu'neanagi ana naga'mo'zama ha'zazmima eri'ne'za tamagranema Jodani tima takahe'za ha'ma ome osanazana, tamagra Giliati mopa ozamita, Kenenima manisafi mopa zaminke'za maniho.
But if they are not willing to cross with you, armed, into the land of Canaan, then let them receive places among you for their dwellings.”
31 Anante Gati naga'ene Rubeni naga'mo'za kenona hu'za, kagri eri'za vahe'mota Ra Anumzamo'ma hu'neankea eri'zafa huta amage antegahune.
And the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben responded: “Just as the Lord has spoken to his servants, so shall we do.
32 Hagi tagra Ra Anumzamofo ha'ma hanuna zantia erineta, Jodani tina rakaheta Ra Anumzamofo avuga Kenani mopafi vanunkeno, erisantiharesu'na mopa Jodani timofo kama kaziga manegahie.
We will go forth, armed, before the Lord into the land of Canaan; and we acknowledge that we have already received our possession across the Jordan.”
33 Higeno Mosese'a Gati nagaki, Rubeni nagaki, Josefe nemofo amu'nompinti'ma refko hu'naza Manase nagara Amori kini ne' Sihoni ranku'ma'ene Basani kini ne' Ogi rankuma'ene, mopane megagi'nea kuma'enena zami'ne.
And so, Moses gave to the sons of Gad and of Ruben, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon, king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og, king of Bashan, and their land with its surrounding cities.
34 Hagi Gati naga'mo'zama ki'naza kumatamina, Dibonima Atarotima, Aroelima,
Therefore, the sons of Gad built up Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
35 Atrot-Sofani kuma'ma, Jaseli kuma'ene, Jogobehati kuma'ene,
and Atroth and Shophan, and Jazer, and Jogbehah,
36 Bet-Nimra kuma'ma Bet-Hara kuma'enena hanave ku'ma negi'za sipisipi afu'ma kegava hanaza kegina hu'naze.
and Beth-Nimrah, and Beth-Haran, as fortified cities with pens for their cattle.
37 Hagi Rubeni naga'mo'zama ki'naza kumatamina Hesbonima, Elealema, Kiriataimima,
Yet truly, the sons of Ruben built up Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kiriathaim,
38 Neboma Bal-Meonima Sibma kuma'ene negi'za ana kumatamimofo zamagia, ru zamagi antemi'naze.
and Nebo, and Baal-meon (their names having been changed) and Sibmah, appointing names for the cities which they had built.
39 Hagi Manase nemofo Makirimpintima fore'ma hu'naza naga'mo'za Giliati vu'za, ana kumapima nemaniza vahera ha' ome huzmante'za e'neriza, anampima nemaniza Amori vahera zamahenatitre'naze.
Moreover, the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, continued on within Gilead, and they devastated it, putting to death its inhabitant, the Amorite.
40 Ana hazageno Mosese'a Giliati rankumara Manase nemofo Makiri naga zamige'za ana kumapina mani'naze.
Therefore, Moses gave the land of Gilead to Machir, the son of Manasseh, and he lived in it.
41 Hagi Manase nemofo Jairi'a osi kumatamima Giliatima megagi'neana ha' huno ome'nerino, Havot Jaire huno agi'a antemi'ne.
But Jair, the son of Manasseh, went out and occupied its villages, which he called Havoth Jair, that is, the Villages of Jair.
42 Hagi Noba'a Kenati rankuma'ene neone kumatamima megagi'nea kumatamina erino ana kumataminkura Nobae huno agra'a agire asamare'ne.
Likewise, Nobah went forth and captured Kenath with its villages. And he called it by his own name, Nobah.
