< 4 Mose 31 >
1 Hagi Ramo'a amanage huno Mosesena asmi'ne,
Yahweh spoke to Moses/me and said,
2 Hagi Israeli vahe'motama tamazeri savri hazageta havi anumzante'ma mono'ma hunte'narera nona huta Midieni vahera zamahe vagaregahaze. Hagi anama hutesunka kagra frinka naga ka'ama mani'narega vugahane.
“Before you die, [tell the] Israeli people that they should (pay back/get revenge on) the Midian people-group for what they did to you.”
3 Higeno Mosese'a vahera zamasamino, amu'nontamifinti mago'a veneneramina ha'zana eri retro huzmantenke'za, Ra Anumzamo'ma rimpama ahezmante'nea zamofo nona hu'za Midieni vahera hara ome huzmanteho. (Nam-Ham 25:16-17)
So Moses/I said to the people, “Get some men prepared for battle. Yahweh will enable them to (pay back/get revenge on) the Midian people-group [for what they did to us].
4 Hagi Israeli vahepintira magoke magoke naga nofipinti 1 tauseni'a vahe huzamantetere hinke'za hatera viho.
Select 1,000 men from each tribe to fight.”
5 Hige'za Israeli vahepinti mago mago naga nofi'mo'za 1 tauseni'a vahe hu'zamantetere hazage'za ana makara 12 tauseni'a vahe'mo'za hatera vu'naku retro hu'naze.
So 12,000 men prepared for fighting in the battle, 1,000 from each tribe.
6 Hagi Mosese'a magoke magoke nagapintira 1 tauseni'a venene hatera huzamante'ne. Hagi anampina pristi ne' Eleasa nemofo Finiasi'a ruotage'ma hu'nege'za seli mono nompima eri'zama e'neriza zantamine, ufene eri'neno, vugoteno nevige'za vu'naze.
When Moses/I sent them to the battle, Phinehas, the son of Eleazar the priest, went with them. He took with him some of the things from the Sacred Tent and the trumpets that would be blown to give the signal [to start the battle].
7 Hagi zamagra Ra Anumzamo'ma Mosesema asami'nea kante ante'za Midieni vahe hara huzmante'za, miko venenea zamahehana hu'naze.
The Israeli men fought the soldiers from the Midian people-group, as Yahweh had told Moses/me to tell them to do, and they killed every man from the Midian people-group.
8 Hagi ana vahepina 5fu'a Midieni kini vahe'ma zamahe'nazana, Evima, Rekemima, Zurima, Hurima, Rebama huza zamahe'naze. Hagi anampinke Beoli nemofo Balamuna kazinknonteti ahe fri'naze.
Among those whom they killed were the five kings of the Midian people-group—Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba. They also killed with a sword Balaam, the son of Beor.
9 Ana nehu'za Israeli vahe'mo'za, Midieni vahe'mokizmi a'nene, mofavrene, bulimakao afuzagane, sipisipi afutamine, feno zazminena mika eri vagare'naze.
They captured all the women and children of the Midian people-group and took away their cattle, their flocks of sheep, and herds of goats, and all their other possessions.
10 Hagi mika ranra kumazamine neone kumazamia teve taginte'za kre vagare'naze.
Then they burned down all the houses in the towns and villages where the people of the Midian people-group lived,
11 Hagi vahe'ene afu'zaga zaminena miko Israeli vahe'mo'za zamavare vagare'naze.
but they took home with them all the women and children and animals and possessions.
12 Anama zamavraza vahezagagi, afu feno zamigi, afuzagaramina zamavare'za Moapu agupofi Mosese'ene pristi ne' Eleasake'ma mani'natega Israeli vahe'mo'za seli nonku'ma ki'za mani'narega, Jeriko mopamofo kantu kaziga Jodani tinte mika eri'za vu'naze.
They brought all these to Eliezer and Moses/me, and to the rest of the Israeli people who were at their/our camp on the plains where the Moab people-group lived, near the Jordan River, across from Jericho.
13 Hagi Moseseki Pristi ne' Eleasaki, Israeli kva vahe'zagagi hu'za ome tutagiha huzamantenaku seli no kumazmimofo fegi'a atirami'za vu'naze.
Eleazar and all the leaders of the people and Moses/I went outside the camp to greet/meet with them.
14 Hianagi 1tauseni'a sondia vahetema kvama hu'naza vahe'ene, 100'a sondia vahetema kvama hu'naza vahetamima hateti'ma azageno'a Mosese'a tusi arimpa ahezmante'ne.
But Moses/I was angry with some of the men who had returned from the battle. He/I was angry with the army officers and the men who were commanders of 1,000 men and those who were commanders of 100 men.
15 Hagi Mosese'a anage huno zamasami'ne, Nahigeta tamagra maka a'neramina ozamahe zamatrage'za mani'naze? huno Mosese'a zamantahige'ne.
He/I asked them, “Why did you allow the women to live [RHQ]?
16 Zamagra e'i ana a'nemo'za Balamu kea antahi'za Peori agonafina tagri vahera zamazeri savri hazageno, Ra Anumzamofona hara rente'za zamefi humi'naze. Anama hazageno Ra Anumzamofo vahe'mo'za knazana eri'naze.
They are the ones who did what Balaam suggested and urged/persuaded our people to worship Baal [instead of Yahweh]. As a result, Yahweh caused a plague to strike his people while they were at Peor.
17 Menina miko ne' mofavre'zaga nezamaheta, venenezaganema monko'zama hu'nesaza a'nezaga miko zamahe friho.
So, now you must kill all the boys of the Midian people-group, and also kill all the women who have had sex [EUP] with any man.
18 Hianagi venema monko'zama osu'nesaza mofa'nea mika zamatrenke'za tamagri su'za maniho.
Spare only the girls who are virgins [EUP]. You can keep them to be your [wives or your slaves].
19 Iza'o ana vahe'ma zamahe frige, fri'nesaza vahe'ma zamavako'ma hu'nesnamota, kumamofo fegi'a 7ni'a kna manigahaze. Hagi nampa 3 knare'ene, nampa 7ni knarera tamagrane hapinti'ma zamavareta e'naza vahe'enena tamagra'a tamazeri agru hugahaze.
All of you who have killed someone or touched the corpse of someone who was killed [in the battle] must stay outside the camp for seven days. On the third day and on the seventh day, you must [perform the ritual to] cause you and those whom you have captured to become acceptable to God again.
20 Hagi mika kukenama, bulimakao akruteti tro hunenia kukenama, sipisipi azokateti tro hu'nenia kukenanena, mika azeri agru hugahaze.
You must also wash your clothes and anything [that you took to the battle] that is made of leather or goat’s hair or wood.”
21 Anante pristi ne' Eleasari'a amanage huno hate'ma vu'naza vahera zamasami'ne, Ama tra kea hate'ma vute'za esaza vahe'mo'zama zamazeri agruma hanaza zanku Ra Anumzamo'ma Mosesema asami'nea naneke.
Then Eleazar said to the soldiers who had returned from the battle, “This is what Yahweh has instructed Moses:
22 Hagi golireti'ma, silvaretima, aenireti'ma, bronsireti'ma, tinireti'ma, lediretima,
You must put into a fire any gold or silver or bronze or iron or tin or lead things [that you brought back from the battle].
23 tro'ma hu'nesaza zantamine, tevemo'ma tegama osune'nia aeniraminena miko tevefi kreta azeri agru hugahaze. Ana huteta ete timpi mago'ane sesehuta zamazeri agru hugahaze. Hianagi tevemo'ma te fanenema hugazantamina, tinteti sesehuta zamazeri agru hugahaze.
Put everything that will not burn into the fire, and then they will be acceptable for you to use. But also sprinkle those things with the water that causes things and people to become acceptable to God. The things that would burn [if you put them] in a fire, sprinkle them with that water.
24 Hagi 7ni knarera kukenatamia sese nehuta, tamagra'a tamazeri agru hugahaze. Hagi anama hutesutma seli nonkumapina ufregahaze hu'ne.
On the seventh day, wash your clothes, and then you will become acceptable to God again. After you do that, you may return to the camp.”
25 Ra Anumzamo'a Mosesena asamino,
Yahweh also said to Moses/me,
26 Kagrane pristi ne' Eliasa'ene mike naga nofipima vugote'naza kva vahe'mota, ha'ma ome hu'za eri'za e'naza zantamine, vahe'ene zagagafanena hamprigahaze.
“Tell Eleazar and the leaders of the family groups that they must write down a list of all the goods, the women, and the animals that were captured [in the battle].
27 Ana'ma huteta hapinti'ma eri'za e'naza feno zantamina tarefi refko huta, ha'ma ome hu'naza sondia vahera nezamita, mesiama'a mago'a vahetami zamiho.
Then they must divide all those things, half given to the men who fought in the battle and the other half given to the rest of the people.
28 Hagi vahero, bulimakaono, sipisipio, meme afuro donki afu'ma hamprisageno'ma 500tima huterema hanifintira, Ra Anumzamo'na suzana magoke namitere hugahaze.
From the men who fought in the battle, take one from every 500 people and from every 500 cattle and donkeys and sheep, to be a tax for me.
29 Hagi Nagri'ma Ra Anumzamo'nama nami'naza ofa erita pristi ne' Elieasa ome amigahaze.
Take these things to Eleazar to (be my share/belong to me).
30 Hagi Israeli vahe'ma refko huzamizage'za eri'naza zampinti'ma hamprisageno mago 50tima huterema hania vahero, bulimakaono, sipisipio, meme afu'tamimpintira mago avretere huta, livae nagama Ra Anumzamo'na seli mono noma kegava hu'naza nagara zamigahaze.
And from the half that belongs to the ordinary people, take one item from every 50. That includes people, cattle, donkeys, sheep, goats, and other animals. Give those things to the descendants of Levi who take care of my Sacred Tent.”
31 Hanki Moseseke pristi ne' Elieasakea Ra Anumzamo'ma huzanante'nea zana hu'na'e.
So Eleazar and Moses/I did what Yahweh commanded.
32 Hagi hapintima sondia vahe'mo'zama eri'za e'naza zantamima miko hampri'nazana 675 tauseni'a sipisipigi,
There were 675,000 sheep, 72,000 cattle, 61,000 donkeys, and 32,000 virgins that they had captured from the Midian people-group.

Moses/I gave to Eleazar all [the animals] that had been given to Yahweh, as Yahweh had commanded.
42 Hagi ha'ma ome hu'naza sondia vahe'mofo zampinti'ma, Israeli vahe'ma Mosesema refko huno zami'neana,
Moses/I separated what those who had fought in the battle received from what the other people received. The people had taken 337,500 sheep, 36,000 cattle, 30,500 donkeys, and 16,000 virgins,
43 337 tausen 500'a sipisipigi,

From what the people received, Moses/I took one from every 50 items and dedicated them to Yahweh. That included animals and people. As Yahweh commanded, he/I gave them all to the descendants of Levi who took care of the Sacred Tent.
48 Anante 1 tauseni'a sondia vahete ugota hu'naza kva vahe'mo'zane, 100'a sondia vahete ugota hu'naza kva vahe'mo'za Mosesente e'za,
Then the army officers and those who commanded 1,000 men and those who commanded 100 men came to Moses/me.
49 anage hu'naze, Eri'za vahekamotama sondia vahetima hampritama eri antefatgo hutama konana, mago'mo'e huno fanene osu'neanki miko mani'none.

So [to thank Yahweh for that], we have brought to him a gift of the gold items that we found [after the battle]: Gold arm bands and bracelets and rings and earrings and necklaces. This will enable us to be forgiven for our sins.”
