NOW after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the Lord, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?

2 Hu'za hazageno, Ra Anumzamo'a kenona amanage huno zamasami'ne, Antahiho, Nagra ko' ana mopa Juda naga zami'noanki zamagra mareri'za Kenani vahera hara ome huzmantegahaze.

And the Lord said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.

And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him.

4 Hagi Juda naga'mo'za mareri'za hara ome hazageno, Ra Anumzamo'a Kenani vahe'ene Peresi vahe'enena Juda naga'mofo zamazampi zamavarentege'za 10 tauseni'a vahe Beseki kumapina ome zamahe'naze.

And Judah went up; and the Lord delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men.

5 Ana Beseki kumapi Adoni-Bezekina ke'za erifore hu'za, agri'ene Kenani vahe'ene Perisi vahe'enena hara huzmagatere'naze.

And they found Adoni-bezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites.

6 Hianagi Adoni-Beseki'a nefrege'za rotago hu'za ome azeri'za azafa azantrena tarega kazigatira runekafriza, tare agafa agiararena rukafri'naze.

But Adoni-bezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.

And Adoni-bezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

8 Hagi Juda naga'mo'za Jerusalemi vahera bainati kazinteti zamahe frivaganere'za, ana kumara teve taginte'naze.

Now the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.

9 Hagi ana'ma hute'za Juda naga'mo'za urami'za, Kenani vahe'ma agonafine Negevine, agupo mopafinema nemaniza vahera hara ome huzmante'naze.

And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley.

10 Ana'ma hute'za Hebroni mopafima nemaniza Kenani vaheku'ma kora Kiriat-Arba hu'zama nehaza vahera, hara ome huzmante'za Sesai naga'ene Ahimani naga'ene Talmai nagara hara zamagatere'naze.

And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron: (now the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-arba: ) and they slew Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai.

11 Hagi anantetira vu'za Debirima nemaniza vahetmina hara ome huzamante'naze. Debiri kumamofo agi'a korapara Kiriat-Sefa hu'za nehazane.

And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher:

12 Hagi Kalepi'a amanage hu'ne, iza'o Kiriat-Sefa vahe'ma ha'ma huzamanteno ana kumama erisimofona mofa'ni'a Aksana ami'nenkeno ara erigahie.

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

13 Anagema higeno'a, Kalepi negna Kenazi nemofo Otnieli ana vahera ha'huzmanteno ana kumara erigeno, Kalepi'a mofa'a Aksana amigeno Otnieli'a ara erinte'ne.

And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

14 Hagi Aksa'ma Otnielinte'ma ne-eno'a amanage huno asami'ne, nenfa Kalepina antahigegeno mopa kamino huno hu'ne. Hagi Aksama donki agumpinti'ma taka'uma neregeno'a, Kalepi'a amanage huno antahige'ne, na'anku kave'nesie?

And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wilt thou?

15 Higeno Aksa'a kenona amanage hu'ne, asomu hunantenka Negevi mopa ko nami'nananki, kampu'i tima nehanatia tintaminena musezana namio, higeno Kalepi'a anagamu kaziga me'nea kampui tine, fenkma kaziga me'nea kampu'i tinena ami'ne.

And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.

16 Hanki Kenazi vahera Mosese nenemo nagaki'za Juda naga'mo'zama tofegna zafamo hu'nea Jeriko kumara atre'za nevazage'za, zamagrane magoka vu'za Juda vahe'ma hagege kokampi, Arad tava'onte Negevi nemaniza vahe'ene umani'naze.

And the children of the Kenite, Moses’ father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.

17 Hagi Juda naga'mo'za zamafuhe'i Simioni naga'ene vu'za, Sefatima nemaniza Kenani vahera ome zamahe vaganere'za ana rankuma'zmia eri haviza hutre'naze. E'ina hu'negu ana kuma'mofo agi'a Home hu'za agia nehaze.

And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was called Hormah.

18 Hagi Juda naga'mo'zama mago'a kuma'enema ha'ma hu'za eri'nazana, Gaza rankumaki, Askeloni rankumaki, Ekroni rankuma'ene megagi'nea mopazminena zamahe'za hanare'naze.

Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof.

19 Hagi Ra Anumzamo'a Juda naga'ene mani'nege'za hara hu'za maka agona mopa eri'naze. Hianagi agupofima mani'naza vahera zamahenati otre'naze. Na'ankure zamagra aenireti tro hu'naza karisi ante'naze.

And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

20 Hagi Mosese'ma huvempama huzmante'nea kante ante'za Juda naga'mo'za Hebroni mopa Kalepi ami'naze. Ana hazageno Kalepi'a 3'a Anaki mofavreramina ana mopafima nemanizana zamahenati atre'ne.

And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak.

21 Hianagi Benzameni naga'mo'za Jebusi vahe'ma Jerusalemima mani'naza vahera zamahenati otre'naze. E'ina hazageno Jebusi vahe'mo'za Benzameni naga'ene Jerusalemia meninena mani'naze.

And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.

22 Hagi anahukna huno Ra Anumzamo'a Josefe naga'ene mani'nege'za mareri'za Beteli vahera hara ome huzamante'naze.

And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Beth-el: and the Lord was with them.

23 Hagi Josefe naga'mo'za afure venenerami huzmantage'za vu'za Beteli kumakura kora Lusie nehaza kumara ome afure'za ke'naze.

And the house of Joseph sent to descry Beth-el. (Now the name of the city before was Luz.)

24 Anama afure'za kenaku'ma vu'naza vene'nemo'za mago ne' ana kumapintira atiramino ne-ege'za amanage hu'za asami'naze, muse hugantonanki ama kumapima ufre kana taveri huo, ana'ma hananketa kagrira kazeri havizana osugahune.

And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him, Shew us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we will shew thee mercy.

25 Anagema hazageno'a, ana kumapima ufre kana zamaveri hutege'za, ana kumapi ufre'za ana maka vahera bainati kazinteti zamahe vagare'naze. Hianagi kama zamaveri'ma hu'nea ne'ene naga'anena ozamahe, zamatrage'za so'e hu'za mani'naze.

And when he shewed them the entrance into the city, they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family.

26 Hagi anama ohe'ma atraza ne'mo'a Hiti vahe mopafi vuno, mago rankuma omegino ana kuma'mofo agi'a Lusie huno antemi'ne. Ana knareti'ma eno menima e'neana ana agige'za nehaze.

And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called the name thereof Luz: which is the name thereof unto this day.

27 Hagi Betsani kumapine, Tanak kumapine, Dori kumapine Ipleamu kumapine, Megido kumapine maka megagiterema hu'nea kumapi vahera Manase naga'mo'za zamahenati otre'naze. Na'ankure Kenani vahe'mo'za hanaveti'za hara nehu'za, zamatrage'za mopazmia Manase naga'mo'za e'ori'naze.

Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

28 Israeli vahe'mo'zama ome hankavemaneti'za Kenani vahetmina zamahenati atrevaga ore'nazanki, kazokazo eri'za vahe zamavrazage'za, kazokazo eri'za vahezmi mani'naze.

And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out.

29 Hagi Efraemi naga'mo'za Geserima nemaniza Kenani vahera zamahenati otre'nazanki, zamatrazage'za zamagrane magopi mani'naze.

Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.

30 Hagi Kitroni kumapine Nahaloli kumapinema nemaniza Kenani vahera Sebuloni naga'mo'za zamahenati otre'nazanki, zamatrage'za magopi zamagrane mani'naze. Hianagi Kenani vahe'tmina kazokzo eri'za vahe zamazeri tro hazage'za kazokzo eri'za vahe mani'naze.

Neither did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries.

31 Hagi Ako kumapine, Saidoni kumapine, Alapu kumapine, Aksipi kumapine, Helba kumapine, Afeki kumapine, Rehopu kumapinema nemaniza Kenani vahera Aseli naga'mo'za zamahenati otre'za zamatrage'za zamagrane magopi mani'naze.

Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob:

32 Ana hazageno Aseli naga'mo'za Kenani vahe'ene magopi mani'naze. Na'ankure Kenani vahera hara hu'za zamahenati otre'naze.

But the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: for they did not drive them out.

33 Hagi Bet-Semesi kumapine, Bet-anati kumapinema nemaniza Kenani vahera Naftali naga'mo'za zamahenati otre'nazanki, zamatrage'za zamagrane magopi mani'naze. Hagi ana kuma'trempinti vahe'tmina kazokazo eri'za vahe'zmi zamavare'naze.

Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh, nor the inhabitants of Beth-anath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh and of Beth-anath became tributaries unto them.

34 Hagi Amori vahe'mo'za Dani naga'mo'zama agupo mopafima eramizankura hankaveti'za hara huzmante'za zamahenati atrege'za agona kokampi vu'naze.

And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountain: for they would not suffer them to come down to the valley:

35 Amori vahe'mo'za hankaveti'za Heresi agonafine, Aijaloni agonafine, Salpim agonafine mani'nazanagi, Josefe naga'mo'za tusi hankaveti'za kazokzo eri'za vahe zamazeri tro hu'naze.

But the Amorites would dwell in mount Heres in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim: yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they became tributaries.

36 Hagi Amori vahe'mofo mopa atupamo'a eramino, Akrabimi agonaregama mareneriza kanteti agafa huteno marerino Sela kumate mareriteno, vuvava huno agona moparega mareri'ne.

And the coast of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, from the rock, and upward.
