1 Hanki Jodani timofo kantu zage fre kaziga agonaregama nemaniza kini vahe'ma, agonamofo asoparega nemaniza kini vahe'ma, agupofima nemaniza kini vahe'ma, Mediterenia ra hagerimofo ankinaregati vuno anagamu noti kaziga Lebanoni mopare nemaniza kini vahe'ma, Hiti vahe'ma Amori vahe'ma, Kenani vahe'ma, Peresi vahe'ma, Hivi vahe'ma Jebusi kini vahe'mo'zama antahi'zama Josua'ma Jeriko vahe'ene Ai kumate vahe'ma ha'ma huzamagaterea agenkema nentahi'za,
And it came to pass when all the kings who were on this side the Jordan, in the hill-country, and in the lowland, and along all the coast of the great sea as far as opposite to Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard [of it],
2 ana maka'mo'za eri mago hu'za Josuane Israeli vahera ha' huzmante'naku hu'naze.
that they assembled together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.
3 Hianagi Gibioni vahe'mo'za Josuama Jerikone Ai rankuma'enema zamazeri havizama hu'nea zamofo agenkema nentahi'za,
And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and to Ai,

then they also acted with craft, and they went prepared as on a journey, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine-flasks, old and rent and tied up;

6 Anante kuma'ma eme ante'za Gilgalima mani'nazare Josuante e'za, agri'ene Israeli vahera amanage hu'za eme zmasami'naze, tagra afete moparegati e'nonku tamagrane mago tarimpa huta manisuna zamofo kea huvempa huranteho.
And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said to him, and to the men of Israel, From a far country are we come; and now make a covenant with us.
7 Hianagi Israeli vahe'mo'za ana Hivi vahe'mokizmia amanage hu'za zamasami'naze, Na'a agafare tamagranena tarimpa fru huta manisunku, huvempa huramantegahune? Na'ankure tamagra afeti vahera omani'negahaze.
And the men of Israel said to the Hivite, Perhaps thou dwellest in the midst of us, and how should I make a covenant with thee?
8 Hianagi Hivi vahe'mo'za Josuana asami'za, kagri eri'za vahe mani'none hazageno, Josua'a zamantahigeno, tamagra izagata, igati e'naze?
And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said to them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye?
9 Hige'za Josuana kenona'a hunte'za, kagri eri'za vahe'mota afete mopareti e'none. Na'ankure Ra Anumzana tamagri Anumzamofo hihamu'amofo agi agenkemo'ma marerigeno, ana maka zama Isipi vahete'ma tro'ma nehuno,
And they said to him, From a very far country are thy servants come, because of the name of Jehovah thy God; for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,
10 tare Amori kini ne'ene Jodani timofo kantu kaziga nemania kini nete'ma tro'ma hu'nea zane, Hesboni kini ne' Sihoninte tro hu'nea zane, Basani kini ne' Ogi'ma Astoroti nemania nete'ma tro'ma hu'nea zamofo agenkea antahi'none.
and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon the king of Heshbon, and to Og the king of Bashan, who was at Ashtaroth.
11 Hagi kva vaheti'mozane mopatifi'ma ana maka nemaniza vahe'mo'za hurante'za, mago'a ne'zama erinetama vanaza ne'zana tro hu'neta, nevuta ana vahe'ma ome nezamagenutma amanage huta zamasamiho hu'naze, tagra tamagri eri'za vahe mani'nonanki, trimpa fru huta manisunku tamagra huvempa kea huranteho.
And our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying, Take victuals in your hand for the way, and go to meet them, and say to them, We are your servants, and now make a covenant with us.
12 Amama erita e'nona bretiramina keho, kantega ne-eta nesunazane huta kumati'ma atreta ne-eta ana zupa amuho hu'negeta erita e'none. Hianagi menina keho, hago hagege huno ankra kruhe'ne.
This our bread we took warm for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; and now, behold, it is dry, and is become mouldy.
13 Hanki mememofo akruteti tromahu tintafena keho, kasefa me'negeta waini tina afirita e'nonane. Hianagi menina keho, hago ampamu hu'ne. Ana nehigeno kukenane taga anonema antani'nona zamo'enena za'za kama e'nona zamo higeno tagatotagatu hu'ne.
And these flasks of wine which we filled new, behold, they are rent; and these our garments and our sandals are become old by reason of the very long journey.
14 Anante Israeli vahe'mo'za ana nezantamina eri'za ke'nazanagi, Ra Anumzamofona antahige'za knare antahi'zana e'ori'naze.
And the men took of their victuals, but they did not inquire at the mouth of Jehovah.
15 Hanki Josua'a ana vahera zamazeri fru nehuno, ozamahe zamatresage'za zamagranema mago zamarimpa hu'za manisaza zanku huvempa hunezmantege'za, Israeli kva vahe'mo'zanena hu'za amama huhagerafuna huvempa kea eri otregahune hu'naze.
And Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them, to let them live; and the princes of the assembly swore unto them.
16 Ana huvempa kema Israeli vahe'mo'za huzamantetageno'a tagufa zagegna evutege'za, henkama antahi'zana afeteti vahera zamagra ome'nazanki, tva'ozamire nemaniza vahe e'naze.
And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a covenant with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt in their midst.
17 Hige'za Israeli vahe'mo'za oti'za tagufa zagegnafi kana vu'za ana vahe'mokizmi kumatmintera uhanati'naze. Ana ran kumatmina, Gibionima, Kefirama, Birotima, Kiriati Jearimi kumapinti vahere.
And the children of Israel journeyed, and came to their cities on the third day; and their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjath-jearim.
18 Hianagi Israeli vahe'mo'za hara huozamante'naze. Na'ankure Israeli kva vahe'mo'za, Ra Anumzana Israeli vahe'mokizmi Anumzamofo avufi mago zamarimpa hu'za manisaza zamofo kema huvempama hu'naza kegu antahi'za ozamahe'naze. Ana hazage'za maka Israeli vahe'mo'za kva vahe'zamigura mago zamarimpa huozamante'za ke hakare hu'naze.
And the children of Israel did not smite them, because the princes of the assembly had sworn unto them by Jehovah the God of Israel. Then all the assembly murmured against the princes.
19 Hianagi mika Israeli kva vahe'mo'za amanage hu'za zamasami'naze, Mago tarimpama huta manigahune huta huvempa kea, Ra Anumzana Israeli vahe'mota Anumzamofo avufi huvempa hu'nonanki menina zamagritera mago'zana osugahune.
And all the princes said to all the assembly, We have sworn unto them by Jehovah the God of Israel, and now we may not touch them.
20 Hanki tagra amanahu huzmantegahune, ozamahe zamatresunke'za manigahaze. Na'ankure tagrama huvempa huzmante'nona kema eri atresunana Anumzamo'a tazeri haviza hugahie.
This we will do to them, and let them live, lest wrath come upon us, because of the oath which we swore unto them.
21 Hianagi kva vahe'mo'za Israeli vahera mago'ene zamasami'za amanage hu'naze, Zamatrenke'za mani'ne'za Israeli vahera tevene tine kato huzami vahe maniho. Hagi kva vahe'mo'zama huvempama huzmante'naza kante ante'za ozamahe zamatrage'za mani'naze.
And the princes said to them, Let them live. And they were hewers of wood and drawers of water for all the assembly; as the princes had said to them.
22 Anante Josua'a Gibioni vahera kehige'za azageno amanage huno zamasami'ne, tamagra na'ante tagrira reravatga hutma, tvaontirema nemaniza naga'mota, afete kotegati e'none hutma hu'naze?
And Joshua called for them, and he spoke to them, saying, Why have ye deceived us, saying, We are very far from you; whereas ye dwell in our midst?
23 Tamagra havige hu'nagu Anumzamo'a tamazeri haviza hugahie. Ana hanigetma maka zupa nagri Anumzamofo mono nompi kazokzo eri'za vahe mani'neta, tinteve hurami vava hugahaze.
And now ye are cursed, and ye shall never cease to be bondmen, and hewers of wood, and drawers of water for the house of my God.
24 Hanki Gibioni vahe'mo'za amanage hu'za Josuana asami'naze, tagrama antahunama Ra Anumzana tamagri Anumzamo eri'za ne'a Mosesena asami'no, ama ana mopa miko zamigahuanki ana mopafima ufresutma anampima mani'naza vahera maka zamahe vagareho huno hu'negu, tamagrikura tusi koro nehuta ana havigea hu'none.
And they answered Joshua and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants how that Jehovah thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you; and we feared greatly for our lives because of you, and did this thing.
25 Ana hu'nonanagi menina kagri kzampi mani'nonku, nazano hurante'naku'ma hanana zana amne huranto.
And now behold, we are in thy hand: as it is good and right in thine eyes to do to us, do.
26 Hanki Josua'a Gibioni vahera zamaza hige'za, Israeli naga'mo'za ozamahe zamatre'naze.
And he did so to them, and delivered them out of the hand of the children of Israel, and they did not slay them.
27 Hianagi Josua'a ana Gibioni vahera huzmanteno menintetima agafama hanazana, Israeli vahe'mokizmi tintevema katoma huzmi vahe nemanita, inantego Israeli vahe'ma vanaregama Ra Anumzamo'ma huhamprino amare monora hihoma hanire'ene tintevea huzamigahaze. Hige'za Gibioni vahe'mo'za ana zamavu'zamavara meninena hu'za neaze. (2 Sam 21).
And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the assembly, and for the altar of Jehovah, to this day, in the place which he should choose.
