1 Hagi agaza hunte tusizankna osifavema Leviataniema nehaza osifavekrerfa, hagerimpima nemaniana Jopuga hukuretira avazu nehunka, nofitetira agefu'narera anakigahampi?
“[Think also about] (crocodiles/great sea dragons). Can you catch them with a fishhook or fasten their jaws with a rope?
2 Agonagampina nofira rentetenka, avazu hunka nevunka, ameragempina reraponentenka nofira rentegahampi?
Can you put ropes through their noses [to control them] or thrust hooks through their jaws?
3 Ana'ma hanankeno'a kasunku hunantenka natro hunora fru kea hugahifi?
Will they plead with you to act mercifully toward them or (use sweet talk/speak to you nicely) [in order that you will not harm them]?

Will they make an agreement with you to work for you, to be your slaves as long as they live?

Can you cause them to become pets like you cause birds to become your pets? Can you put a leash/rope around their [necks] so that your servant girls [can play with them]?
6 Hagi zago vahe'mo'za ana zagama mizasenakura, mizama'agura keha rete'za, ana zaga ahe'za akafari osi osi hu'za eri'za maketifina zagorera ome atregahazafi?
Will merchants try to buy them [in the market]? Will they cut them up into pieces and sell the meat?
7 Hagi ana zaga, nozamema nehaza keveretira asenifine avufgafinena ahegresogreso hugahampi?
Can you pierce their skins by throwing fishing spears at them? Can you pierce their heads with a harpoon?
8 Hagi ana zagamofo avufgare'ma kazama antenka kesanunka, henka'anena anara osugahue hunka hugahane. Na'ankure ana'ma hanugeno'ma henka'ama ha'ma hunantesniana, havizantfa hugahie hunka kagesa antahigahane.
If you grab one of them with your hands, it will fight you in a way that you will never forget, and you will never try to do it again!
9 Hagi antahio, kagrama hunka ana zagama azerisanue hunka'ma kagesama nentahisanunka anara osuo. Na'ankure ana zagama azerisanuema huno hania vahera ana zagamo'a refaki hutregahie.
It is useless to try to subdue them. Anyone who tries to subdue one of them will lose his courage.
10 Mago vahe'mo'a ana leviatani'ema nehaza zaga azeri oraotigahie. Ana'ma haniana iza oti hankaveti'neno hara hunantegahie?
No one dares/tries to (arouse them/cause them to be angry). So, [since I am much more powerful than they are, ] (who would dare to cause me to be angry?/no one would dare to cause me to be angry!) [RHQ]
11 Iza mago zana nami'nesanigu hu'na, ete nona hu'na amigahue? Na'ankure ama mopafima maka zama me'nea zantamina, Nagri zanke me'ne.
Also, everything on the earth is mine. Therefore, no one [RHQ] is able to give anything to me and require me to pay [money] for it!
12 Hagi leviataniema nehaza zagama hage rimpima nemania zagamofo hankavene, avufgane agia azankrefagura eri ama hu'na kasamigahue.
I will tell you about [how strong] crocodiles' legs [are] and how strong their well-formed bodies are.
13 Ana zagamofo avufagare'ma me'nea irira iza eri kanope netreno, agofetu agofetu'ma huno'ma hankave avufgama me'neana iza reraponegahie?
(Can anyone strip off their hides?/No one is able to strip off their hides.) [RHQ] (Can anyone try to put bridles on them?/No one can try to put bridles on them.) [RHQ] (OR, Can anyone pierce their very thick hides?)
14 Ana zagamofona ave krerfa hunte'neanki'za, vahe'mo'za koro nehaze. E'ina hu'neankino, iza ana zaga aheno agemzampa atavegrigahie?
(Can anyone pry open their jaws, which have terrible teeth in them?/No one can pry open their jaws, which have terrible teeth in them!) [RHQ]
15 Ana zagamofo amagenafina iri'amo'a, magopi rukamaretere huno evuevu hu'neankino hankavetino hankogna hu'ne.
They have rows of scales on their back which are as hard as a rock (OR, tightly fastened together).
16 Ana zagamofo iri'amo'a, magopi akamareno hantohanto hu'neankino, zahomo'ma ufrega kana omane'ne.
The scales are very close together, with the result that not even air can get between them.
17 Mago mago irimo'a agu'afinka, mago irite rukamaretere huno azeri hankaveti'ne. Ana hu'neankino eri kanopeno eri rure'rurera hugara osu'ne.
The scales are joined very closely to each other, and they cannot be separated.
18 Hagi ana zagamo'ma kasi'ma haniana, agonagampintira teve ruganani huno vuno eno nehigeno, avurgafintira nantera zagema marerino zagemo'ma remsama hiaza nehie.
When crocodiles sneeze, [the tiny drops of water that come out of their noses] sparkle in the sunlight. Their eyes are red like the rising sun.
19 Ana zagamofo agipintira teve ruganani huno vuno eno nehigeno, agipintira tevemo'a hagna hagna huno atineramie.
[It is as though] sparks of fire pour out of their mouths [DOU].
20 Ana nehigeno kavofima tima tagino, tevere kre'negeno krakra hiaza huno, agonagampintira amu'mo'a rugasu huno enevie.
Smoke pours out of their nostrils/noses like steam comes out of a pot that is put over a fire made from dry reeds.
21 Hagi agipinti'ma evia zahomo'a tanknu'zafima tevema nerea tevea hukru higeno rukaru nehigeno, teve nefamo'a agipintira hagna hagna huno nere.
Their breath can cause coals to blaze, and flames shoot out from their mouths.
22 Ana zagamofo anankempina tusi'a hankave me'neankino, inantego vanoma hiana, tusiza huno vahera zamazeri koro nehie.
Their necks are very strong; wherever they go, they cause people to be very afraid.
23 Ana zagamofo avufgamo'ma marerino tamino'ma hu'nea ma'amo'a, magopi ruhampri ruhampri huno antrako huno hankaveti'neankino, eri pahesi rure rure'ma hu'amo'a amuho hu'ne.
The folds in their flesh are very close together and are very hard/firm.
24 Ana zagamofo tumo'amo'a havegna huno hanavetineankino, witima refuzafunepaza havegna hu'ne.
[They are fearless, because] the inner parts of their bodies are as hard as a rock, as hard as the lower millstone [on which grain is ground].
25 Ana zagamo'ma o'manetige'za hankave vahe'mo'za koro nehu'za, na'a hugahune hu'za kanku nehakaze.
When they rise up, they cause [even] very strong people to be terrified. As a result, people (fall back/run away) when crocodiles thrash around.
26 Ana hu'neankino bainati kazintetiro, keveretiro, karugru keveretiro, osi have kazintetira mago vahe'mo'a ana zaga ahegara osu'ne.
[People] [PRS] cannot injure them with swords, and spears or darts or javelins cannot injure them, either.
27 Hagi ainireti'ma tro'ma hu'naza ha' zantamima ana zagamo'ma keana, trazankna huno keamne zankna nehuno, bronsireti'ma tro'ma hu'naza ha' zantamima keana, kasari'nea zafagna hu'ne.
They [certainly are not afraid of weapons made of] straw or rotten wood, but [they are not even afraid of weapons made of] iron or bronze!
28 Vahe'mo'za kevea ahe tresnageno mani'nesnirega vugahianagi, korora ofregahie. Gumi atifina havea erinte'za ahegahazanagi ana havemo'a hagege trazamo'ma avufgare'ma avako'ma hiankna hugahie.
[Shooting] arrows [at them] does not cause them to run away. [Hurling] stones at them from a sling is like [hurling] bits of chaff at them.
29 Kumpa kanoma kesaniana, trazankna huno ke amnezaneseno, karugru kevema matrevuno atresigeno esania zamofo agasasama nentahino'a kiza regahie.
They are not afraid of clubs [any more than they would be afraid of men throwing] bits of straw [at them], and they laugh when they hear the whirl/sound of javelins [being thrown at them].
30 Ana zagamofo asagufima me'nea irimo'a, mopa kavomo'ma rupararo vazigeno asane'neankna hu'ne. Ana hu'neankino, mopafima regararo heno'ma nevigeno'a, mopa vazikekurino nevie.
Their bellies are covered with scales that are as sharp as broken pieces of pottery. When they drag themselves through the mud, their bellies tear up the ground like a plow.
31 Hagi hagerimpima nevigeno'a, kavofima tima afino tevefi kre'negeno timo'ma krakra hiaza huno, hagerimo'a krakra huteno masavemo'ma ze'ze'ma nehiaza nehie.
They stir up the water and cause it to foam [as they churn/swim through it].
32 Ana zagamo'ma hagerimpima nevigeno'ma, amefi'ma timo'ma agrege'ma huno nevia zamo'a rumsa huno efeke hu'neankino, mago kavrinteaza nehie. Ana nehigeno ana zamo'a tavava ozafamofo efeke azoka kna huno efeke nehie.
As they go through the water, the (wakes/trails in the water behind them) glisten. People [who see it] would think that the foam in those wakes had become white hair.
33 Ama mopafina mago agrikna zaga omani'neankino, mago zagagura korora nosie.
There are no creatures on earth that are as fearless as crocodiles.
34 Maka zagama mani'naza zagafina, agra zamagatereno avufga ra nehie. Ana hu'neankino maka afi zagama mani'nazana zamagatereno kini mani'ne.
They are the proudest of all the creatures; [it is as though] they [rule like] kings over all the other wild animals.”
