1 Hagi Josaia nemofo Jehoiakimi'ma Juda vahe kinima manino egeno nampa 4ma hia kafufina, Ra Anumzamo'a amanage huno Jeremaiana asami'ne.
When Jehoiakim had been the king of Judah for almost four years, Yahweh gave this message to me:
2 Kagra mago avontafe eritenka, Israeli vahete'ene Juda vahete'enena maka kumatamimpima fore'ma hania knazanku'ma kasami'noa nanekea ana maka avontafepi krento. Hagi ana nanekema krentesanana, Josaia'ma kinima mani'nea knafima agafama hu'na nanekema kasami'noregati krenteme enka ama knare ehanatio.
“Get a scroll, and write on it the messages that I have given to you regarding Israel, Judah, and the other nations. Write all of the messages, starting from the time that I gave you the first message, when Josiah was the king, up until now.
3 Hagi maka Juda vahe'mo'za zamazeri haviza hunaku'ma antahintahima nehua zamofo nanekema antahizaresina, kefo avu'ava zazmia atre'za zamagu'a rukrahe hazage'na, kumi zamia atre zmantoresine.
When the people of Judah hear [again] about all the disasters that I plan to cause them to experience, perhaps each one of them will repent. If they do that, I will be able to forgive them for the wrong/evil things that they have done.”
4 Hagi anante Jeremaia'a Neria nemofo Barukuna ke higeno egeno, mika nanekema Ra Anumzamo'ma asami'nea nanekea nesamigeno, Baruku'a mago avontafepi miko krente'ne.
[So] I summoned Baruch, the son of Neraiah. Then, as I dictated to him all the messages that Yahweh had spoken to me, he wrote them on a scroll.
5 Hagi ana hutegeno anante Jeremaia'a Barukuna amanage huno asami'ne, Nagra amafi kina hu'na mani'noanki'na Ra Anumzamofo mono nontega ovugahue.
Then I said to him, “I am not allowed to [leave here and] go to the temple.
6 E'ina hu'negu Ra Anumzamofo nanekema kasamugenka avontafepima krentana nanekea, ne'zama a'o hu'za nemaniza kna zupa Ra Anumzamofo mono nompi erinka vunka, ome hamprige'za maka mono nompima mani'nesaza Juda vahe'mo'za antahi vagareho. Ana nehuge'za Juda mopafima me'nea ranra kumatamimpinti'ma esaza vahe'mo'zanena antahigahaze.
So, you go [to the temple] on the [next] day when the people are (fasting/abstaining from food), and read to them the messages from Yahweh that you wrote while I dictated them to you. Read them [aloud] to all the people [who are there, including] the people of Judah who come [there] from their towns.
Perhaps they will turn from their evil behavior and request Yahweh [to act mercifully toward them]. [They must do that, ] because Yahweh is very angry with them and has threatened to punish them severely.”
8 Hagi anante Neria nemofo Baruku'a, kasnampa ne' Jeremaia'ma asami'nea nanekea, Ra Anumzamofo mono nompi ana maka nanekea ome hampri'ne.
Baruch did what I told him to do. He [went to the temple and] read [to the people] all those messages from Yahweh.
9 Hagi Juda kini ne' Josaia nemofo Jehoakimi'ma kinima mani'negeno vuno 5fuma hia kafumofona 9ni ikantera, Jerusalemi kumapi vahe'mo'zane maka Juda mopafima me'nea kuma tamimpima nemaniza vahemo'zanena Jerusalemi kumate e'za, ne'zana a'o hu'za manine'za Anumzamofo mono huntenaku hu'naze.
He did it in December on a day when their leaders had proclaimed that all the people in Jerusalem and the people who had come there from [other] towns in Judah should fast to [please/honor] Yahweh. [It was when] Jehoiakim had been king for almost five years.
10 Hagi avontafepima maka'zama krenentea ne' Safani nemofo Gemaria'ma Ra Anumzamofo mono nompima nemanifi, maka vahe'mo'za nentahizageno Baruku'a Jeremaia'ma hu'nea nanekea avontafepinti hampri'ne. Hagi hunaraginte'nageno Gemaria'ma nemania nomo'a Ra Anumzamofo mono nomofo anaga kazigama me'nea kumapima, Ra mono nompima ufre kafanku'ma, Kasefa Kafanema nehaza kafama me'nea tva'onte me'ne.
Baruch read to all the people the messages [that he had written] on the scroll. [He read them while he was] in the temple, in the room where Gemariah stayed. He was the son of Shaphan, [who had previously been the king’s] secretary. That room was close to the upper courtyard [of the temple], near the entrance to the temple that is [called] the New Gate.
11 Hagi Ra Anumzamofo nanekema Baruku'ma avontafepinti'ma hampriana Safani negeho Gemaria ne'mofo Mikaia'a ana maka nanekea antahi vagare'ne.
When Micaiah, who was the son of Gemariah and grandson of Shaphan, heard those messages from Yahweh,
he went down to the secretary’s room in the palace, where all the king’s officials were meeting. Elishama the [king’s] secretary [was there]. Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, Elnathan the son of Acbor, Gemariah, Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the [other] officials [of the king were also there].
13 Anante Baruku'ma avontafepinti'ma hamprige'za maka vahe'mo'zama antahi'naza nanekea, Mikaia'a ana nanekea ome zamasami vagare'ne.
When Micaiah told them about the messages that Baruch had been reading to the people,
the officials sent Jehudi, who was the son of Nethaniah and grandson of Shelemiah and great-grandson of Cushi, to tell Baruch to come [and read the messages to them, also]. So Baruch took the scroll and went to them.
15 Hagi ana vahe'mo'za Barukuna asami'za, muse hugantonanki amare mani'nenka ana avona hamprio, hu'za hazageno Baruku'a ana avona hamprige'za antahi'naze.
They said to him, “Please sit down and read it [to us].” So Baruch did what they requested.
After they had heard all the messages, they were afraid. They looked at each other and [then] they said, “We must tell these messages to the king!”
17 Hagi anante Barukuna antahige'za, muse hugantonanki inankna hunka ama avona kre'nampi tasamio? Jeremaia'a agra'a agipinti nehigenka maka ama avona kre'nampi?
Then they asked Baruch, “How did you get this scroll? Did Jeremiah dictate to you all the messages on this scroll?”
18 Anage hazageno Baruku'a kenona huno, Izo agra agipinti nehige'na avo zota eri'na ana maka nanekea ama avontafepina krente'noe.
Baruch replied, “[Yes], Jeremiah dictated them to me, and I wrote them with ink on this scroll.”
Then the officials told Baruch, “You and Jeremiah must both hide. Do not tell anyone where you are!”
They put the scroll in the room of Elishama, the king’s secretary. Then they went to the king, who was in the courtyard, and reported to him everything [that Baruch had read to them].
21 Hagi ana avontafe ome erinka eno huno kini ne'mo'a Jehudina huntegeno vuno, avoma kreno erinte fatgoma nehia ne' Elisama nompinti ome erino eno, kini ne'ma mani'nere agri eri'za vahe'amozanena oti'nazageno ana avona eme hamprige'za antahi'naze.
Then the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll. Jehudi brought it from Elishama’s room and read it to the king, while all the [king’s] officials were standing there.
22 Hagi ama ana zama fore hu'neana, 9ni ikana zasi nehia knagino kini ne'mo'a zasi'ma nehigeno nemania nompi, teve hugre'za nemaniza zama kapareti'ma tro'ma hunte'nafi tevea hugreno tonehino mani'ne.
It was in the cold season, and the king was in a part of the palace where he stayed when it was cold. He was sitting in front of a fire [to keep/be warm].
23 Hagi Jehudi'a ana avoma osi'a hamprino 3'o 4'a isama nevigeno'a, kini ne'mo'a osi kazinteti anama'a ahesagane huno teve hugre'zama nemaniza zama tro'ma huntenafi kretere hu'ne. Ana huno nevigeno ana avontafera tevemo teno eri fanane hu'ne.
Each time Jehudi finished reading three or four columns, the king cut off that section of the scroll with a knife and threw it into the fire. He did that, section by section, until the entire scroll was burned up.
Neither the king nor his officials showed that they were afraid [that God would punish them]. They did not tear their clothes [to show that they were sorry for what they had done].
Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah pleaded with the king not to burn the scroll, but he did not pay any attention.
26 Ana'ma huteno kini ne'mo'a nemofo Jeramilinki, Azrieli nemofo Seraianki, Abdili nemofo Selemianki huno hunezmanteno, avoma kreno erinte fatgoma nehia ne' Barukune, kasnampa ne' Jeremaia kiznia vuta ome zanazerita eho huno huzamantege'za vu'naze. Hianagi Ra Anumzamo'a ana netrena zanazeri fraki'ne.
Then the king commanded his son Jerahmeel, Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel to arrest Baruch and me. But [they were unable to do that because] Yahweh had hidden us.
27 Hagi Jeremaia'ma nehigeno Baruku'ma kre'nea avontafe'ma kini ne'mo'ma tevefima kretegeno'a, anante Ra Anumzamo'a Jeremaiana amanage huno asami'ne,
After the king had burned the scroll on which were written the messages that I had dictated to Baruch, Yahweh said this to me:
28 kagra mago avontafe erinka, ko'ma krente'nankeno kini ne' Johoiakimima tevefima kre'nea nanekea ana avontafepi ana maka nanekea ete krento.
“Get another scroll, and [tell Baruch to] write everything again, the same messages that he had written on the scroll that the king burned.
29 Ana nehunka kini ne' Jehoiakiminkura amanage hugahane. Ra Anumzamo'a huno, kagra avontafera tevefi negrenka amanage hu'nane. Nahigeno Jeremaia'a avontafepina kreno, Babiloni kini nemo'a eno ama kumara eri haviza nehuno vahe'ene, zagagafanena zamaheno erihana hugahie huno hu'ne?
[Then go to] the king and say to him, ‘Yahweh says this: “You burned the scroll [because you did not like] what was written on it, that the king of Babylon would surely [RHQ] come [with his army] and destroy this land and get rid of all the people and the animals.
30 E'ina hu'negu Ra Anumzamo'a Juda kini ne' Jehoiakiminkura amanage hu'ne. Agri nagapintira magore huno henka'a agri nona erino Deviti kini tratera kinia omanitfa hugahie. Hagi fri'nige'za avufga'a fegi eritre'nesageno, masarera zagemo renentesigeno, kenagera aisi komo runtegahie.
Now this is what [I], Yahweh, say about [you], Jehoiakim: 'None of your descendants will rule this kingdom [MTY]. Your corpse will be thrown out [on the ground and not be buried]; it will be under the hot [sun] during the days and [struck by] frost during the nights.
31 Hagi zamagrama hu'naza kumitera, Nagra nona huzamante'na agri'ene mofavre naga'ane eri'za vahe'anena zamazeri haviza hugahue. Ana nehu'na zamagrite'ene Jerusalemi kumapi vahete'ene, Juda vahete'enena hazenke'za atresugeno egahie hu'na hu'noanagi ana nanekea ontahi'naze huno Anumzamo'a hu'ne.
I will punish you and your family and your officials for their sins. And I will cause the people of Jerusalem and the people of the [other] towns in Judah to experience all the disasters that I promised, because you all would not pay attention [to what I said]!'” '”
32 Hagi anante Jeremaia'a ru'ene mago avontafe erino avoma kreno erinte fatgoma nehia ne' Neria nemofo Barukuna nemino higeno, koma kre'nea avoma Juda kini ne' Jehoiakimi'ma tevefima kre'nea nanekeramina, ete Jeremaia'a nehigeno avontafepi krente'ne. Ana nehuno mago'ene ana agofetura rama'a anahukna nanekenena nehigeno krente'ne.
So I took another scroll, and again I dictated the messages to Baruch. He wrote everything that had been written on the [other] scroll, the one that King Jehoiakim had burned in the fire. [But this time, I] added more messages.
