1 Korapa knafina ama mopafima mani'naza vahe'mo'za magoke zamageruke neru'za, magoke kege hu'naze.
At that time the whole world spoke just one language and used words with the same meaning.
2 Vahe'mo'za hage'za zage hanatitega nevu'za mago agupo mopa Sinar (Babiloni) ome kete'za, anante kuma ome ante'za mani'naze.
As they moved east they discovered a plain in the land of Shinar so they settled there.
3 Mani'ne'za ke hugantugama hu'za anage hu'naze, Mopa kateta briki tro huta tevefi kre hanavenetita, kolta fuki erita simenia eri hanavetita tro huta nona kisune hu'za hu'naze.
They said to one another, “Come on, let's make some bricks and bake them with fire.” (They used brick instead of stone, and tar instead of cement).
4 Anante amanage hu'naze, Tagrati rankuma trohuta za'za no kita monafi marerisnunkeno, ana nomo'a ran tagi neramina, arurega vuta eta hu'zankura tazeri atru hanie.
Then they said, “Now let's build a city for ourselves with a tower whose top reaches the heavens. That way we'll gain a great reputation and we won't end up being scattered all over the world.”
5 Hianagi Ra Anumzamo'a rankuma'ene, zaza none, vahe'mo'zama ki'naza nonku'ma kenaku erami'ne.
But the Lord came down to take a look at the city and the tower that the people were building.
6 Ra Anumzamo'a amanage hu'ne, Zamagra magoke naga mani'ne'za magoke zamageru neru'za, amazana eri agafa hazankiza, mago'zama hunaku'ma hanaza zana, amne tro hugahaze.
The Lord said, “Look! These people are united and they all speak one language. If this is what they can do now when they're just getting started, nothing will be impossible for them when they all put their minds to it!
7 E'i zanku tagra uramita ke'zami eri savari hamanenke'za, zamagra zamageru'ma antahizankura amuho hugahaze.
We need to go down and mix up their language and make it confused so they won't be able to understand what they're saying to one other.”
8 Anage nehuno Ra Anumzamo'a zamazeri fragu vazige'za kumazimi tro huvaga ore'za atre'za maka moparega vu'za e'za hu'za umani'naze.
The Lord sent them away from there and scattered them all over the world, and they gave up building the city.
That's why it was called Babel, because the Lord made the language of the world confused.
