< Ezra 10 >
As Ezra was praying and confessing sins, weeping and falling down on his face before God's Temple, a very large crowd of Israelites, men, women, and children, gathered around him. The people were weeping bitterly as well.
2 Anante Elamu nagapinti Jehieli nemofo Sekania'a Ezrante eno amanage huno hu'ne, Tagra Anumzantimofo kea rutagreta megi'a vahepintira a'nea eri'none. Hianagi mago kankamuna me'neankita ana hazenke zama atresanunkeno'a, Ra Anumzamo'a tazeri havizana osugahie.
Shecaniah, son of Jehiel, an Elamite, said to Ezra: “Yes, we have been unfaithful to our God because we have married foreign women from the people of the land. But even so there is still hope for Israel over this.
3 Hanki menina Ra Anumzantimofo avure mago huvempa ke huta, megi'a a'nanetine mofavre naga'zaminena huzmantenunke'za mopa zamirega vugahaze. Hanki Ezragane Anumzamofo ke'ma amage'ma nentaza vahe'mo'zanema tasamisnaza kante anteta anara hugahune. E'inahu'ma hanunana Anumzamofo kasegefima hu'nea kante amage anteta anara hugahune.
Let us make a solemn agreement right now before our God that we will send away all the foreign wives and their children. We will follow the directions given by you and those who respect the instructions of our God, carried out according to the Law.
4 E'ina hu'negu Ezraga kagri eri'zanki otinka ama ana knazana eri fatgo huo. Tagra keka'a antahigamita nazanoma hanana zana tro hugahunanki, korora osunka oti hanavetinenka ana eri'za erio.
Take action! It's your responsibility. We are with you. Be brave and do it!”
5 Anagema higeno Ezra'a otino ugota pristi vahe'ene Livae naga'ene ana maka Israeli vahe'mokizmia zamasamino, Huvempa kema hutma Sekania'ma hia kea amage antegahune hutma huvempa hiho hige'za ana hu'naze.
So Ezra stood up and made the leading priests, Levites, and all the Israelites present take an oath to act on what had just been said. They all took the oath.
6 Hanki Ezra'ma Ra Anumzamofo mono nomofo avugama mani'neretira atreno vuno, Eliasipi nemofo Jehohanani'ma nemasefinka vu'ne. Anampinka ne'zane tinena a'o huno mani'neno, Israeli vahe'ma kinafintima e'naza vahe'mo'zama hu'naza kumikura tusi zavi neteno asuzampi mani'ne.
Then Ezra left them in front of God's Temple, and went to the room of Jehohanan, son of Eliashib. During the time he stayed there, he didn't eat or drink anything, because he was still mourning the unfaithfulness of the exiles.
7 Hanki anante Juda kva vahe'mo'zane eri'za vahe'mo'zanema Babiloni kinafinti'ma atre'za e'za Jerusalemi kumapine Juda kumapima emani'naza vahera, Jerusalemi kumate maka eme tru hiho, hu'za kea atre'zmante'naze.
Then a proclamation was issued throughout Judah and Jerusalem that all the exiles should assemble in Jerusalem.
8 Hanki iza'o 3'a zagemofo agu'afima omesia vahe'mofona, ranra vahe'mo'zane kva vahe'mo'zama hanaza kante ante'za, fenozama'a eri hana nehu'za, kinama hute'za e'naza Israeli naga'pintira ahenatitregahaze.
Anyone who did not come within three days would have all their property confiscated, and would be banned from the assembly of the exiles. This was the decision of the leaders and elders.
9 Hanki 3'a zagemofo agu'afi ana maka Juda naga'ene Benjamini naga'moza Jerusalemi kumate eme tru hu'naze. Ana'ma eme atru hu'nazana 9ni ikamofona 20ti zupa maka Anumzamofo mono nomofo avuga eme atru hu'za mani'nazageno, ana zupa tusi'a ko nerigeno, atru'ma hu'nafima efore'ma hanige'za antahisaza kegu'enena tusi zamahirahite'ne.
Within three days, everyone from Judah and Benjamin assembled in Jerusalem. On the twentieth day of the ninth month, all the people sat in the square beside God's Temple, shivering because of this issue and also because of the heavy rain.
10 Hanki anante pristi ne' Ezra'a otino amanage huno zamasami'ne, Tamagra Ra Anumzamofo tra kea tamefi humita, megi'a a'nanea erita Israeli vahe'mota kna eriramize.
Ezra the priest stood up and told them, “You have committed sin by marrying foreign women, making Israel's guilt even worse.
11 Hanki menina Ra Anumzana tamagehe'i Anumzamofonte kumitamia huama nehutma, Agri avesi'za amage anteho. Amama emani'naza mopafi vahe tvaontera omanitma afete nemanitma, megi'a a'nanema eri'nazana zamatreho.
Now you must confess your sin to the Lord, the God of your forefathers, and do what he requires. Sever your connections with the people of the land and your foreign wives.”
12 Anante ana maka vahe'mo'za ranke hu'za, Kagra tamage hanankita kagrama hana nanekea amage antegahune.
The whole assembly answered in a loud voice: “We agree, and we promise to do as you say!

But there are a lot of people here, and it's pouring with rain. We can't stay outside. More to the point, this isn't something that can be fixed in one or two days, for we have sinned extremely seriously in this.
14 E'ina hu'negu kva vahetimo'za Jerusalemi mani'neza ama ana knazana taza hu'za erigahaze. Hanki kumatifima iza'o megi'a a'nanema eri'nesia vahe'ma mani'nesimo'a, huhampri'ma ante'nesaza knarera, kuma'afinti kva vahe'ene keagama refko'ma nehaza vahe'ene zamavare'neno ana zupa eno ana knazana emeri fatgo hugahie. E'inama hanunkeno'a Anumzamo'a arimpa aheorantegahie.
Let our leaders act on behalf of the whole assembly. Then let every man in each of our towns who has married a foreign woman be given an appointment to come and meet, together with the elders and judges of that town, until our God is no longer angry with us over this.”
The only ones to oppose this were Jonathan, son of Asahel, and Jahzeiah, son of Tikvah, supported by Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite.
16 Hanki kva vahe'ma huhamprisage'za mani'neza ana knazana erigahaze hu'zama haza kerera, Babiloni kinafinti'ma ana maka e'naza vahe'mo'za mago zamarimpa hu'naze. So this what the exiles did, selecting Ezra the priest and family leaders, according to their family divisions, all of them specifically named. On the first day of the tenth month they sat down to begin the inquiry,
