ヨハネの黙示録 7
1 この後、私は見た。四人の御使いが地の四隅に立って、地の四方の風を堅く押え、地にも海にもどんな木にも、吹きつけないようにしていた。
And after this I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, so that no wind should blow upon the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
2 また私は見た。もうひとりの御使いが、生ける神の印を持って、日の出るほうから上って来た。彼は、地をも海をもそこなう権威を与えられた四人の御使いたちに、大声で叫んで言った。
And I saw another angel ascending from the sun's rising, having the seal of the Living God. And he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it had been granted to harm the earth and the sea,
3 「私たちが神のしもべたちの額に印を押してしまうまで、地にも海にも木にも害を与えてはいけない。」
saying: “Do not harm the earth, nor the sea nor the trees, until we have sealed the slaves of our God on their foreheads.”
4 それから私が、印を押された人々の数を聞くと、イスラエルの子孫のあらゆる部族の者が印を押されていて、十四万四千人であった。
And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:
5 ユダの部族で印を押された者が一万二千人、ルベンの部族で一万二千人、ガドの部族で一万二千人、
From the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand,
6 アセルの部族で一万二千人、ナフタリの部族で一万二千人、マナセの部族で一万二千人、
from the tribe of Asher twelve thousand, from the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand, from the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand,
7 シメオンの部族で一万二千人、レビの部族で一万二千人、イッサカルの部族で一万二千人、
from the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand, from the tribe of Levi twelve thousand, from the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand,
8 ゼブルンの部族で一万二千人、ヨセフの部族で一万二千人、ベニヤミンの部族で一万二千人、印を押された者がいた。
from the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand, from the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand, from the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed.
9 その後、私は見た。見よ。あらゆる国民、部族、民族、国語のうちから、だれにも数えきれぬほどの大ぜいの群衆が、白い衣を着、しゅろの枝を手に持って、御座と小羊との前に立っていた。
After these things I looked, and wow, a great multitude that no one could number, from all ethnic nations and tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the Throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes and having palm branches in their hands.
10 彼らは、大声で叫んで言った。 「救いは、御座にある私たちの神にあり、小羊にある。」
And they shouted with a loud voice saying, “Saved by our God who sits on the throne, and by the Lamb!”
11 御使いたちはみな、御座と長老たちと四つの生き物との回りに立っていたが、彼らも御座の前にひれ伏し、神を拝して、
And all the angels stood around the Throne, and the elders and the four living beings, and they fell down before the Throne, on their faces, and worshiped God,
saying: “Amen! The blessing and the glory and the wisdom and the thanksgiving and the honor and the power and the strength to our God for ever and ever! Amen.” (aiōn g165)
13 長老のひとりが私に話しかけて、「白い衣を着ているこの人たちは、いったいだれですか。どこから来たのですか。」と言った。
And one of the elders reacted, saying to me, “Who are these that are clothed in the white robes, and where did they come from?”
14 そこで、私は、「主よ。あなたこそ、ご存じです。」と言った。すると、彼は私にこう言った。「彼らは、大きな患難から抜け出て来た者たちで、その衣を小羊の血で洗って、白くしたのです。
So I said to him, “My lord, you know.” So he said to me: “These are those who come out of the Great Tribulation—they washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 だから彼らは神の御座の前にいて、聖所で昼も夜も、神に仕えているのです。そして、御座に着いておられる方も、彼らの上に幕屋を張られるのです。
Therefore they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. And He who sits on the throne will shelter them.
16 彼らはもはや、飢えることもなく、渇くこともなく、太陽もどんな炎熱も彼らを打つことはありません。
They shall not hunger anymore, nor thirst anymore; the sun will absolutely not strike them, nor any heat;
17 なぜなら、御座の正面におられる小羊が、彼らの牧者となり、いのちの水の泉に導いてくださるからです。また、神は彼らの目の涙をすっかりぬぐい取ってくださるのです。」
because the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shepherds them and leads them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
