ヨハネの黙示録 2
1 エペソにある教会の御使いに書き送れ。『右手に七つの星を持つ方、七つの金の燭台の間を歩く方が言われる。
To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks:
2 「わたしは、あなたの行ないとあなたの労苦と忍耐を知っている。また、あなたが、悪い者たちをがまんすることができず、使徒と自称しているが実はそうでない者たちをためして、その偽りを見抜いたことも知っている。
I know thy works, and thy labor, and thy endurance, and that thou canst not bear evil men; and thou didst try those who say they are apostles, and are not, and didst find them liars;
3 あなたはよく忍耐して、わたしの名のために耐え忍び、疲れたことがなかった。
and thou hast endurance, and hast borne on account of my name, and hast not become weary.
4 しかし、あなたには非難すべきことがある。あなたは初めの愛から離れてしまった。
But I have this against thee, that thou hast left thy first love.
5 それで、あなたは、どこから落ちたかを思い出し、悔い改めて、初めの行ないをしなさい。もしそうでなく、悔い改めることをしないならば、わたしは、あなたのところに行って、あなたの燭台をその置かれた所から取りはずしてしまおう。
Remember therefore whence thou hast fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come to thee, and will remove thy candlestick out of its place, unless thou repent.
6 しかし、あなたにはこのことがある。あなたはニコライ派の人々の行ないを憎んでいる。わたしもそれを憎んでいる。
But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 耳のある者は御霊が諸教会に言われることを聞きなさい。勝利を得る者に、わたしは神のパラダイスにあるいのちの木の実を食べさせよう。」』
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of my God.
8 また、スミルナにある教会の御使いに書き送れ。『初めであり、終わりである方、死んで、また生きた方が言われる。
And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These things saith the first and the last, who was dead, and lived again:
9 「わたしは、あなたの苦しみと貧しさとを知っている。――しかしあなたは実際は富んでいる。――またユダヤ人だと自称しているが、実はそうでなく、かえってサタンの会衆である人たちから、ののしられていることも知っている。
I know thy affliction and poverty, (but thou art rich, ) and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
10 あなたが受けようとしている苦しみを恐れてはいけない。見よ。悪魔はあなたがたをためすために、あなたがたのうちのある人たちを牢に投げ入れようとしている。あなたがたは十日の間苦しみを受ける。死に至るまで忠実でありなさい。そうすれば、わたしはあなたにいのちの冠を与えよう。
Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer. Behold, now, the Devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye will have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.
11 耳のある者は御霊が諸教会に言われることを聞きなさい。勝利を得る者は、決して第二の死によってそこなわれることはない。」』
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. He that overcometh shall not be hurt by the second death.
12 また、ペルガモにある教会の御使いに書き送れ。『鋭い、両刃の剣を持つ方がこう言われる。
And to the angel of the church in Pergamus write: These things saith he that hath the sharp two-edged sword:
13 「わたしは、あなたの住んでいる所を知っている。そこにはサタンの王座がある。しかしあなたは、わたしの名を堅く保って、わたしの忠実な証人アンテパスがサタンの住むあなたがたのところで殺されたときでも、わたしに対する信仰を捨てなかった。
I know where thou dwellest, where the throne of Satan is; and thou holdest fast my name, and didst not deny my faith, even in the days in which Antipas was my witness, my faithful one, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
14 しかし、あなたには少しばかり非難すべきことがある。あなたのうちに、バラムの教えを奉じている人々がいる。バラムはバラクに教えて、イスラエルの人々の前に、つまずきの石を置き、偶像の神にささげた物を食べさせ、また不品行を行なわせた。
But I have a few things against thee; thou hast there them that hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling-block in the way of the sons of Israel, and to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.
15 それと同じように、あなたのところにもニコライ派の教えを奉じている人々がいる。
So thou also hast men holding the teaching of the Nicolaitans, in like manner.
16 だから、悔い改めなさい。もしそうしないなら、わたしは、すぐにあなたのところに行き、わたしの口の剣をもって彼らと戦おう。
Repent therefore; or else I will come to thee quickly, and will make war with them with the sword of my mouth.
17 耳のある者は御霊が諸教会に言われることを聞きなさい。わたしは勝利を得る者に隠れたマナを与える。また、彼に白い石を与える。その石には、それを受ける者のほかはだれも知らない、新しい名が書かれている。」』
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, I will give of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knoweth but he that receiveth it.
18 また、テアテラにある教会の御使いに書き送れ。『燃える炎のような目を持ち、その足は光り輝くしんちゅうのような、神の子が言われる。
And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass:
19 「わたしは、あなたの行ないとあなたの愛と信仰と奉仕と忍耐を知っており、また、あなたの近ごろの行ないが初めの行ないにまさっていることも知っている。
I know thy works, and love, and faith, and service, and thy endurance, and that thy last works are more than the first.
20 しかし、あなたには非難すべきことがある。あなたは、イゼベルという女をなすがままにさせている。この女は、預言者だと自称しているが、わたしのしもべたちを教えて誤りに導き、不品行を行なわせ、偶像の神にささげた物を食べさせている。
But I have this against thee, that thou sufferest thy wife Jezebel, who calleth herself a prophetess, and she teacheth and seduceth my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
21 わたしは悔い改める機会を与えたが、この女は不品行を悔い改めようとしない。
And I gave her time to repent, and she will not repent of her fornication.
22 見よ。わたしは、この女を病の床に投げ込もう。また、この女と姦淫を行なう者たちも、この女の行ないを離れて悔い改めなければ、大きな患難の中に投げ込もう。
Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and those who together with her commit adultery into great distress, unless they repent of her deeds.
23 また、わたしは、この女の子どもたちをも死病によって殺す。こうして全教会は、わたしが人の思いと心を探る者であることを知るようになる。また、わたしは、あなたがたの行ないに応じてひとりひとりに報いよう。
And her children I will slay with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he who searcheth the reins and hearts; and I will give to every one of you according to your works.
24 しかし、テアテラにいる人たちの中で、この教えを受け入れておらず、彼らの言うサタンの深いところをまだ知っていないあなたがたに言う。わたしはあなたがたに、ほかの重荷を負わせない。
But to you I say, the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, such as have not known “the depths” of Satan, as they speak; I put upon you no other burden;
25 ただ、あなたがたの持っているものを、わたしが行くまで、しっかりと持っていなさい。
but that which ye have, hold fast till I come.
26 勝利を得る者、また最後までわたしのわざを守る者には、諸国の民を支配する権威を与えよう。
And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations, —
27 彼は、鉄の杖をもって土の器を打ち砕くようにして彼らを治める。わたし自身が父から支配の権威を受けているのと同じである。
and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of a potter are broken to shivers, —as I also have received of my Father.
28 また、彼に明けの明星を与えよう。
And I will give him the morning star.
29 耳のある者は御霊が諸教会に言われることを聞きなさい。」』
